Story
Sadie was a rescue who came up from Texas, she just turned 4. She is very sweet but seems to like to be an only pet. She would be perfect for a couple with a fenced in yard or invisible fence. She has lived with invisible fence her whole life with no issues. She has never been mean or aggressive towards people but unfortunately does not get along with our other dog. She is a good watchdog, protective of owners and property and will definitely let you know if someone is at the door. She is very affectionate and likes a lot of love and attention.

Story
Meet Nash! Nash is an 8-year-old Boxer/Australian Shepherd mix who is friendly, loyal, playful, and full of energy. He enjoys walks, playtime, and spending time with his people. He knows sit, stay, down, and recall, and responds well to consistent training. Nash would do best in a home without young children and is not a good fit for homes with other dogs. He thrives when he has space, structure, and plenty of attention from his family. Nash is looking for a loving home with someone who has the time and commitment to give him the exercise and companionship he deserves. Please note: Nash can be reactive at times and has been known to snap toward other dogs and unfamiliar people when uncomfortable or overstimulated. While he has never bitten anyone, his behavior can occasionally be unpredictable. Because of this, he would do best with an experienced owner who understands dog body language and is willing to provide appropriate management and structure.

Story
Meet our super handsome and sleek boy named Harvey! Harvey is about 1.5 years old and he came to our shelter after he was abandoned by his owners. A resident in our town allowed someone to leave Harvey at their home for a couple nights, but they never came back for him. Now Harvey is looking for his forever family! Harvey is a young boy who enjoys a good head and butt scratch. He has started to get more affectionate with us here and he learns routines very quickly. Harvey is a playful guy who especially loves the kong shaped toys. He will play fetch with those over and over until he is tired out. Harvey is a smart boy who listens well for treats or toys. He does have some dominant energy, so he will need a confident dog owner who will work on some basic training with him. Harvey did great at our vet office and loved everyone there. He is fine with other dogs, but we think he will want to be the dominant dog in the home. He can go to a home with older children 15 years old and older. If you are interested in adopting Harvey Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! His adoption fee is $100.00. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME. Story
*Smudgie's adoption fee has been sponsored by our friends at A Dog's Dilemma Petsitting!* Meet our super handsome and outgoing boy named Smudgie! We believe Smudgie is less than 2 years old and you may have seen his story on our Facebook page. In June, Smudgie was seen multiple nights in a row roaming around our local Target parking lot. After he was fed in the same spot those nights, a trap was set. It did not take long for him to enter that trap and be transported to our shelter for safety. Immediately, Smudgie was looking for human attention and showed us that he was a friendly guy. Besides having a bad urinary tract infection when he came in, which has now been treated, he was in good shape and we don't think he was wandering outside for too long. Smudgie is now ready for his forever home where he will never be abandoned again! He is a very high energy boy who loves to play and be with his people. We think he may have some herding breed in him, as he will try to herd you at your ankles if you are not paying attention to him. Due to this and his jumpiness, he can go to a home with children 15 years old and older who have experience with med/large sized dogs. Smudgie seems fine with other dogs here. If you are interested in adopting Smudgie Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! His adoption fee has been sponsored! PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER!
