Story
Introducing this awesome and sweet boy named Trevor! Trevor landed at the shelter through no fault of his own on 2/27. His former owner was moving and was not taking Trevor. Our hearts break in a million pieces for this awesome baby. The volunteers are making him feel welcomed and loved and wanted as much as possible. Trevor loves the volunteers and the affection he is receiving. Trevor is extremely sweet and is pretty calm despite being placed in a loud, overcrowded shelter. He is confused because his world has completely turned upside down. Trevor is very well behaved, housebroken and is great with kids! That is awesome news!! He is hoping to find another loving person soon that will take the time to keep him safe and sound in his new home. He is super intelligent as he knows how to sit pretty well, stay and down using voice and hand signals and he may know more. He is eager to please and a natural at learning new things. He will work for his treats and takes them so gently. Trevor would love to have the opportunity to have a good, loving family that will make him feel welcomed and loved. He is a very handsome fellow with a heart full of love and more than ready to share that love with you. He is a baby, and babies need nurturing, patience, guidance and lots of love. He needs you to be in his corner now more than ever. Trevor is current on vaccines, tested negative for heart worms, will be neutered and micro chipped before his adoption. Trevor weighs in at 63 pounds and he is just 1.5 years old. You will find Trevor is patiently waiting for you to be his guardian angel in Run 835. Trevor's ID# is 653914. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. This pet and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Story
🐾 Hello, wonderful humans! My name is Lyfe, and I'm here to share my story in hopes of finding my forever home with someone as special as you. I may be just 8 months old, but my heart is full of love and longing for a family to call my own. With my charming and unique white and black coat, I stand out in any crowd at a perfect 48 pounds. My journey has been filled with ups and downs. You see, I've had the same family for all of my short life. Adopted at 2 months old, I thought I had found my forever home. But now, at just 8 months old, they've decided they weren't as ready for a dog as they thought. It breaks my heart, but I'm not giving up hope. I may be a little shy and timid, shaking with fear in this unfamiliar shelter environment, but deep down, I know there's a loving family out there just waiting to show me the kindness and patience I deserve. While I'm not spayed yet, that's a small detail that'll be taken care of upon adoption. And all my shots are up to date, so you can rest assured that I'm a healthy and happy pup ready to embark on a new chapter of my life. I may be scared of loud noises and sudden movements, but I promise to shower you with love and loyalty like you've never experienced before. I'll sit for treats, and with your gentle guidance, I know I'll blossom into the confident and brave dog I was always meant to be. You can find me trembling but hopeful in cage #19, and my ID is 653690. Please, won't you come meet me and give me the chance to show you just how much love I have to give? Together, we can turn my tale of sadness into one of joy and happiness. 🐾 Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. Story
This handsome dude is Deano! He arrived at the shelter as a lost boy on 2/1, and no one has come to reclaim him. The volunteers describe Deano as friendly, playful, and energetic! He comes off as a bit shy at first, but he warms up quickly. This may be due to the loud, overwhelming shelter environment. We're sure when he's in a loving home he'll open up! Deano does sit nicely for treats when asked. If you're looking for a new best friend to join you on hikes, runs, and all of life's adventures then Deano may be your guy! Deano is approximately 1 year old, and he weighs 45 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, now neutered, and will be microchipped and heartworm tested upon adoption. Please come meet Deano in run 831; his ID # is 653386. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. Story
Meet handsome Zeus! He was surrendered to the shelter on 1/31 due to his family having financial problems and not being able to care for him any longer. They did tell us that Zeus is house-trained, good with kids, and good with other dogs. They mentioned that he knows lots of commands, but the volunteers could only get him to sit. Maybe he's just overwhelmed in his new surroundings. The volunteers describe Zeus as friendly and sweet. He enjoys his walks and taking his time to sniff around. Zeus is quite strong on leash, so he'll do best with someone patient and kind who is willing to put some time into training. Zeus is 5 years old, and he weighs 65 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, neutered and tested negative for heartworms; he will be microchipped upon adoption. Please come meet Zeus in run 78; his ID # is 653350. Story
Great family dog and dog companion Kobe would do best in a home in which he would have a lot of interaction with bigger kids and a dog who appreciates his enthusiasm   Kobe is full of puppy energy and  he just loves other dogs!  In his temporary foster home, he so enjoyed running with his foster sibling and he actually seems to follow her around, letting her show him the ropes.   So Kobe learns fast and is a really great dog.  He is overcoming separation anxiety.  His foster has been teaching him that she will always come back to him. We’ve found that when he has a human nearby and access to toys that are okay for him to chew, he's amazing at switching between keeping himself busy with his toys and then taking a nap near his human(s). He loves chew toys and is very food motivated. Kobe also loves blankets, cuddles, and naps with his humans. We have not witnessed any signs of aggression in Kobe. While Kobe is eager for food, but Kobe has not displayed any signs of food aggression or aggression or resource guarding with toys and treats. He's a smart boy that is very trainable. He knows “sit” and “down,” although he does best when hand signals are paired with the verbal commands. We've slowly progressed from not just getting Kobe to sit before eating, but to also getting him to wait to be released to eat. I also think if someone was interested, he'd be great at agility training and/or dock jumping. Age:  2 years.  Weight:  40 lbs   Vetting:  neutered, scheduled to update vaccines and heartworm negative  Temperament: Loves people and dogs and older respectful kids. Training: House trained, crate trained (though not a fan of it) For questions please   email:  pheiges@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.  March 1, 2024, 5:31 pm

Story
Sunny is very sweet, wants to be a lap dog, loves to snuggle.  She is playful and active, but she is also fine in her crate and to just chill in the house.  She would do best in a home without small reactive territorial dogs.  Also would do well with a family that likes to cuddle and be close to her.   She likes to be with people and other dogs.  She will be a great dog, we would love to keep her if our small dog wasn't an issue. Age:  4 years  Weight:  60 lbs   Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, spayed, and heartworm negative   Temperament: Loves people, loves to play with other dogs.  Training: House trained, crate trained, knows commands Sit, Come, She spins around for treats.  Contact email:  tinaarmour@bellsouth.net To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review.
