Story
A FUN, PLAYFUL & ACTIVE GUY:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 35 lbs.  Hi, my name is Asher!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I’m very grateful.  The volunteers are taken with my unusual breed mix and my handsome ginger brindle coat, and compact body.  I bet you will be, too! I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off-site and learned a lot!  I am currently in a wonderful foster home, where I am able to continue all of my training.  My foster mom and dad say that I am a VERY good student! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I have met other dogs at Mostly Mutts as well as in my foster home and liked them a lot!  I also played along the fence line with another doggie in a temporary foster home when my regular foster was away – what fun!!  I think I would ‘thrive’ in a home with another dog!  I can be barky when I see other dogs – not to worry – my trainer will show you how to introduce me to other dogs, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I get a little excited to see children, so kids age 10+ would be the best fit for me, as I wouldn’t want to bump over younger children and toddlers.  Of course, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet guy who has earned the reputation of being ‘goofy and funny’ around the shelter.  I’m happy with a fun nature, and sure to be a great addition to your family.  I am full of playful energy and am not shy about speaking my mind, so I don’t think an apartment/condo-type home would be a good fit for me.  I would love a backyard with a fence, as one of my favorite activities is chasing a ball.  I will even bring it back to you as long as you will throw it.  My foster parents have realized that I am also very good at entertaining myself inside, so I make a good office dog.  I really enjoy going on walks, and enjoy several of them during the day in my foster home.  I’m a lot of dog in a little package. I’m also very sweet and fun!  I am great in the shower, when my foster parents give me my weekly bath.  Affectionate and social, I have all the traits of a great companion. I, however, am not the kind of dog you would take to the kids’ sporting events, or a busy park, etc. since I can be reactive. I look forward to meeting all the members of my new home at my adoption! / My energy level is 6–8, so I am looking for a family member who will be active with me.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I get distracted by sounds I hear on my walk that I don’t recognize, so my trainer is using the ‘leave it’ command to keep me on track on our walks.  I’m very food motivated, so that makes my training fun and yummy! / I did well in my little room at Mostly Mutts. In my foster home, I have perfect crate manners, and easily go into my crate when my foster parents have to leave the house.  I even put myself to bed at night, by going into my crate without being asked. / In my foster home, I have had perfect potty manners and have not had a single accident.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I LOVE toys and enjoy having fun with them and I can entertain myself with a toy while you're busy, or if you prefer, I'd love to play fetch — just throw me a ball!  I’d enjoy a nice, fenced yard where we can have lots of play sessions together.  When it’s time to chill, I always enjoy a good petting and some cuddles with my people.  I secretly believe that I am a lap dog, so often times I will sit in your lap and wrap my front legs around your neck for a big hug.  I also enjoy my walks, but I need a strong walker, as I am a strong boy and can be reactive to people and other animals on walks.  I absolutely love car rides, so let's hit the road and find some nice, more quiet places to explore together! / I have been frightened by certain loud motors, the vacuum etc. so I don’t like those. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a dog savvy family where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  August 26, 2025, 6:30 am

Story
Peanut is a sweet, affectionate dog just under a year old, according to his veterinarian. He is fully up to date on all vaccinations and has completed a two-week board-and-train program, where he learned several commands. Based on the vets assessment, he mostly likely was tied up somewhere and left for a long period and was most likely abused. Even with that background, nothing can get him down! He is a very happy dog. He is incredibly loving and energetic, and does wonderfully with other dogs, cats, children, and the whole family. Because of his energy level, Peanut would thrive in a home with a yard or with someone who can provide at least a couple of walks each day. When he isnot playing, Peanut is very snuggly and loves to be close to his people. He is crate trained, though he does have some sensitivities to wire crates. Peanut will come with all of his belongings, including his leash, collar, e-collar, bowls, bed, and more.

Story
Jax was acquired by my son and my wife in 2020 from the Humane Society. He was 2 at the time. Apparently his first owner passed away. Jax is a calm and loving dog. He gets along fine with the two cats we have. We keep him in a crate during the day when we are at work, but he is not usually penned at night. Jax does not get the love and attention he deserves; he needs to go to a better home. I am willing to keep Jax for as long as it takes because he deserves a good home, not a shelter.

Story
Meet Roscoe - a handsome 8-year-old, 54 lb. Boxer/Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his smile. Roscoe is the perfect blend of fun and affection - he&#39s a happy, social boy who adores being around people and making new friends. His sweet and easygoing personality makes him a joy to have by your side. Roscoe is dog-friendly and enjoys having canine buddies to play with, though he would be just as content soaking up love as the center of attention. With his medium-to-low energy level, he&#39s the kind of pup who can enjoy a playful romp with his toys or a nice walk around the neighborhood, and then settle right in for cuddle time on the couch. This smart boy loves to learn and already knows how to be a wonderful housemate - he&#39s housebroken, crate trained, and walks well on the leash. Roscoe would thrive in an adult-only home or with a family that has kids 12 and up, where he can feel secure and cherished. Roscoe is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped - all ready to start his next chapter. What he wants most is a forever family who will love him as much as he&#39ll love them. Whether it&#39s playtime, walk time, or snuggle time, Roscoe will be your loyal companion every step of the way. Could Roscoe be the one to make your home feel complete? Story
Drako is a low-key gentleman looking for his forever family! This sweet senior is a boxer mix, born on 6-27-2014, weighing 57lb. BarkVille Dog Rescue saved Drako from the Euthanasia list at an overcrowded GA shelter. He would be an amazing companion for a retired couple, or a family looking for an easy dog to love on! Drako enjoys the company of other dogs and likes to be close to his people. He is crate trained but prefers not to be completely alone - he likes to be crated near the other dogs in his foster home. He does show some signs of separation anxiety, so a family that is home often would be ideal for Drako. He walks well on leash, and is friendly and well mannered with everyone he meets. Drako is very loving and deserves to live the good life with a lucky family! His foster Mom reports he starts the day off lazy, and can become frisky in the afternoons - he has lots of personality! Drako is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. For more information about Drako, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org. If you would like to adopt this wonderful dog, please submit an application for him at www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Story
Olive is a 3-year-old pocket pitbull mix with a big heart and gentle soul. She is affectionate, loyal, playful, and deeply bonded to her people. Olive would thrive in a calm, loving home with consistent routines. Due to a recent dog-to-dog conflict in her current home, she would do best as an only dog or with slow, structured introductions to a compatible, calm dog. She has manageable skin and environmental allergies that are currently supported with a natural care routine. Olive is ready to land in a stable home where she can decompress, feel safe, and be truly loved.

Story
JEWEL - MY NAME SUITS ME:  Approx. 11 years old / Approx. 57 lbs.  Hi there, I’m Jewel! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control with a 2.2-lb, softball-sized mammary mass hanging from my skin that nearly touched the ground.  You may have seen me featured on Facebook, where I showed just how happy and resilient I am despite everything I was facing.  When I arrived, I needed extensive medical care, and my bloodwork in particular was made possible thanks to a generous grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization (see the medical section below for details).         • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, and I enjoy the company and playtimes with the other dog in my foster home that’s about my size, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I’ve met the grandkids in my foster home and liked them.  I’m an older girl so my foster thinks that kids 7+ would be best, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a super sweet, cuddly, go-with-the-flow kind of girl with a joyful spirit and so much love to give.  I’m also friendly, gentle, happy, and I have great house manners and a tail that never stops wagging.  I’m always thrilled to see you and truly just the most delightful, happy girl who can’t wait to share life (and lots of love) with someone special.  I may be 11 years old, but I don’t act my age as I’m more active than you would think. / Energy level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  At the Mostly Mutts shelter, I was tested and knew the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’ and ‘drop it’ commands and I accepted friendly strangers without jumping on them and had good leash manners, too.  I haven’t practiced all of these in my foster home, since I needed surgery and recovery time, but I’m sure with a little review, I’ll show them to you, too. / I haven’t been crated in my foster home, but I sleep well in my foster’s large laundry room and nap there when they are away at work. / My potty manners have been very good in my foster home as I know to go outside. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to chill and be loved on, enjoy nice walks, and cuddling up on the couch.  Chewing on antlers and bones is a favorite pastime, and I also love rolling around in the grass soaking up the moment and hanging out as well as playing with the other nice dog in my foster home. / Car rides make me a bit nervous right now, and I tend to whine, but I’m already getting better with practice.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, gentle exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations and micro-chipped.  I had several masses in my mammary chains, and they have been removed and I've now been spayed, making my risk of cancer return low, so that's good news!  I take an inexpensive over-the-counter joint supplement called Cosequin which is good for all older dogs.  I have a heart condition called ARVC which doesn’t slow me down – ask about this and you can consult your vet for ongoing cardiac care.  A dental cleaning would be good, but I cannot have that due to going under anesthesia again.  It is dangerous due to my heart condition, but there are several dental treatments that you could try at home that are over-the-counter.  I’m looking for a wonderful family that will take great care of me and love me for the rest of my life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  January 6, 2026, 7:14 am

Story
A SWEET, PLAYFUL SENIOR FELLOW:  Approx. 9 years old / Approx. 46 lbs. Hi there, I’m Roy! I came to Mostly Mutts after finding myself at animal control - I don’t remember how I ended up there, but I’m so grateful to be safe and well cared for now. I’m a sweet, hopeful guy who’s excited about the future and dreaming of a loving home and family of my own. When I arrived, I had thin fur and some skin issues likely due to neglect, I also needed a dental cleaning, and I had infected ears and sore eyes. I needed bloodwork, which I was able to receive thanks to a generous grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization. I’m feeling and looking so much better now and ready for my next chapter!  I’m currently in the prison/foster training program off-site and learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I’m available to meet.         • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and was hesitant but interested in them, I even did a play bow, so I may be playing soon.  If you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no very young kids that I may bump over or that may pull on my ears as they are sensitive or hug me which I may see as restraint.   • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me as a friendly, super playful, and smart guy who’s sweet as can be and truly a very good boy. I’ve been a calm, loving senior with great manners who listens well and enjoys being close to the nice volunteers. I’m especially good for my medicated showers - I stay calm and sweet, even lifting my paws for massages and rinsing. A walk-in shower with a sprayer is just my style as I don’t want to get in a tub, and I enjoy the gentle massage that comes with it.  I can be a little head shy at first, but after a few days I learn I can trust you and then I’m happy to enjoy gentle head pets. / Energy Level: 4-6.       • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I expect to be a Mostly Mutts University graduate very soon!  So far, I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and accept nice strangers without jumping.  I look forward to learning even more. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / I’m doing really well with my potty manners on the shelter schedule with very few accidents.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love spending time with the nice volunteers, playing with my toys (and I’ll happily drop them for a treat!), and getting scratches - I can never get enough!  I’m a big fan of tough toys since I tend to make quick work of the soft ones, but that’s okay because the hard toys are my absolute favorites anyway!  I’m sure we’ll find lots of other things we will enjoy doing together in my new home. / I’m not a fan of those pesky eye drops and can be reactive to them, so talk to my trainer for tips.  I also don’t like to be restrained during my vetting, so I wear a muzzle to help things go smoothly, and my trainer is helping me build confidence and comfort with it.  Otherwise, like all dogs I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.   • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I had a good dental cleaning, so my mouth is fresh again!  I’m having my ears rechecked/remedicated the week of Jan 12th and Mostly Mutts will pay for that with their vet.  I have dry eyes and need Cyclosporine eye drops daily.  I have been reactive to receiving the drops, so my trainer will be glad to talk to you about administering them successfully.  I’m still receiving medicated baths as my skin and fur continue to improve and those can be done in my new home in a shower setting. I take an allergy/itch medication called Zenrelia to help with my skin, too.  I’m a wonderful fellow looking to soak up the good life with my new family and to be well taken care of since that was lacking in my former home/situation.  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  February 2, 2026, 9:16 am
