A FUN, PLAYFUL & ACTIVE GUY: Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 40 lbs. Hi, my name is Asher! Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, & I’m very grateful. The volunteers are taken with my unusual breed mix & my handsome ginger brindle coat, & compact body. I bet you will be, too! I spent some time in the prison/foster training program & learned a lot! I am currently in a wonderful foster home, waiting for my match! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I enjoy playing with & going for walks with other dogs I’ve met at Mostly Mutts, but I should not live with another dog as I have guarded toys & dog beds from them. I can be barky/reactive when I see other dogs – not to worry – my trainer will show you exactly how to introduce me to other dogs, so let’s meet! / No cats please. / I get a little excited to see children, so kids age 10+ would be the best fit for me, as I wouldn’t want to bump over younger children. Of course, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a sweet guy who has earned the reputation of being ‘goofy & funny’ around the shelter. I’m happy with a fun nature, & sure to be a great addition to your family. I am full of playful energy & am not shy about speaking my mind, so I don’t think an apartment/condo-type home would be a good fit for me. I would love a backyard with a fence, as one of my favorite activities is chasing a ball. I will even bring it back to you as long as you will throw it. My foster parents have realized that I am also very good at entertaining myself inside, so I make a good office dog. I really enjoy going on walks & I do enjoy several of them during the day in my foster home. I’m a lot of dog in a little package. I’m also very sweet, protective & fun! I am great in the shower or bath, when my foster parents give me my weekly bath. Affectionate & social with the people I’ve been properly introduced to, I have all the traits of a great companion. I, however, am not the kind of dog you would take to the kids’ sporting events, or a busy park, etc. since I can be reactive. I look forward to meeting all the members of my new home at my adoption! / My energy level is 6–8, so I am looking for a family member who will be active with me. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ & ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette & have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping when properly introduced. I get distracted by sounds I hear on my walk that I don’t recognize, so my trainer is using the ‘leave it’ command to keep me on track on our walks. I’m very food motivated, so that makes my training fun & yummy! Let's continue my training as there are more classes I can take through the free lifetime training that Mostly Mutts offers for their rescue dogs. / I did well in my little room at Mostly Mutts. In my foster home, I have perfect crate manners, & easily go into my crate when my foster parents have to leave the house. I even put myself to bed at night, by going into my crate without being asked. / In my foster home, I have had perfect potty manners & have not had a single accident. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I LOVE toys - especially rubber ones with deep squeakers, Nylabones, & large squeaky tennis balls. I can entertain myself while you’re busy, or we can play fetch together - just throw the ball! A nice fenced yard would be great for our play sessions. When it’s time to relax, I enjoy lots of petting & cuddles, & I secretly believe I’m a lap dog, so don’t be surprised if I climb up & give you a big hug with my paws on your shoulders. I also like walks, though I’ll need a strong walker since I’m a strong boy & can sometimes be reactive to people & other animals. I absolutely love car rides, too, so let’s go find some quieter places to explore together. / I have been frightened by certain loud motors, the vacuum, doorbells, etc., but I can be trained not to react to those as I’m smart. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, & training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped & neutered. Punky was bought from a breeder in Florida through Good Dog, we got her when she was 3 months old. We have always been Boxer owners and we thought we could raise another puppy (this is our 3rd), but due to work and getting older and our kids no longer are home, it has been a bit tough. She is a great dog, super smart, loves people and other dogs, house trained and has gone through PetSmart beginners and intermediate training, so she knows her commands. She is vaccinated and chipped. She is full of energy and loveable. Unfortunately, we do not have the energy she does and since we do not have children at home anymore, we cannot help her drain that energy, she gets a bit in trouble becaause of it. She is 1year and 4 months old.

Please keep me on a consistent schedule, so that I can fully master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love playing with toys, especially tennis balls, and I never say no to a peanut butter treat. I’ve destuffed a few toys and shredded a blanket, so please just watch me with these items. Chin scratches are the best, and they always make my tail wag! At the end of the day, being with my people is really what I’m after. / I can’t think of any dislikes, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I recently started 2 inexpensive stress/anxiety medications to help with some mild separation anxiety that I’m experiencing. Hopefully I will no longer need it once I’ve settled into my new home. Now, it’s time for me to meet a lucky family and spend my ‘happily ever after’ with them, so plan to come and meet me soon! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I get along very well with the two dogs in my foster home, so if you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I love the two girls in my foster home, in fact, the 12-year-old and I are great buddies and do lots of things together. There is also a 16-year-old that spends a good bit of time with me and I love her, too. So, if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am an affectionate girl with a sweet, calm and loving nature. I’m always ready to be close and soak up every bit of affection you’re willing to give. I can be a little timid of loud noises or sudden movements, but I recover quickly with a gentle voice or a reassuring touch. I tend to be more cautious around men than women, watching first before deciding it’s safe, but once I do, my sweetness shines through. At heart, I’m a tender, loving soul who just wants to feel safe, seen, and adored and I would really like a stay or work from home family member that I could spend my days with. My foster says I am “awesome!” / My energy level is 2-4. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I shown that I know the ‘sit’ and ‘come’ commands in my foster home and I also have good leash manners. For a cheese treat, I will gladly extend my paw for a shake. I bet you can teach me even more great commands. / My crate manners have been good in my foster home, and I’ve shown that I don’t really require one. I don’t like being left alone in one, as I would rather be near my people. / I’ve only had two accidents in my foster home – one on the first day and the other when it was blustery cold outside. With a good and consistent schedule, my potty habits should be good in my new home, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES: Cuddling is my love language, and I’ll happily curl up at your side just to feel connected. Getting attention is extremely important to me and I hope it is for my new family, too. And grass? Rolling in it is pure joy because honestly, life is better when you take time to roll around and enjoy it. Dog beds are my personal treasure - I like the soft ones best and believe every home should have at least one for me. I also enjoy a bit of cheese – hey, who doesn’t? / As mentioned, loud noises and fast movements startle me, and my foster vouches for the fact that I am NOT a fan of pill pockets – ick. I’m not the best on stairs, but I’m sure I can improve if needed. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I take a daily over-the-counter Cosequin which helps with an old injury to my right front carpal region and is good for all dogs. I am also taking medication to help with anxiety, though I have backed off from it in my foster home – only doing a morning dose when my foster has to work all day. Just ask about this. A SWEET, PLAYFUL SENIOR FELLOW: Approx. 9 years old / Approx. 46 lbs. Hi there, I’m Roy! I came to Mostly Mutts after finding myself at animal control - I don’t remember how I ended up there, but I’m so grateful to be safe and well cared for now. When I arrived, it was clear that I had been neglected for years as I had thin fur and some skin issues, I needed a dental cleaning and had infected ears and sore dry eyes. I needed bloodwork, which I receive thanks to a generous grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization. I’m feeling and looking much better and ready for my next chapter! I even got to spend some time in the prison/foster training program and had a good time! I’m a sweet, hopeful guy who’s excited about the future and dreaming of a loving home and family that will take wonderful care of me. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and like to interact a little with the more mellow dogs, so if you have a nice dog at home like this, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no very young kids that I may bump over or that may pull on my ears as they are sensitive or hug me which I may see as restraint. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The volunteers describe me as a friendly, super playful, and smart guy who’s sweet as can be and truly a very good boy. I’ve been a calm, loving senior with great manners who listens well (and does best with gentle and kind words) and enjoys being close to the nice volunteers. I get spurts of energy that are so fun. I’m especially good for my medicated showers - I stay calm and sweet, even lifting my paws for massages and rinsing. A walk-in shower with a sprayer is just my style as I don’t want to get in a tub, and I enjoy the gentle massage that comes with it. / Energy Level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so, I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / My crate manners have been good, though I don’t seem to really need a crate. / I’m doing well with my potty manners on the shelter schedule and did well in the prison/foster training program, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love spending time with the nice volunteers, playing with my toys (and I’ll happily drop them for a treat!), and getting scratches - I can never get enough! I’m a big fan of tough toys since I tend to make quick work of the soft ones, but that’s okay because the hard toys are my absolute favorites anyway! I’m sure we’ll find lots of other things we will enjoy doing together in my new home. / I am skittish when anyone uses harsh words or corrections with me, so I want a kind and gentle family that’s more about positive reinforcement. I’m not a fan of those pesky eye drops and can be reactive to them, so my trainer will go over some strategies with you to help get them in. I also don’t like to be restrained during my vetting, so I wear a muzzle to help things go smoothly, and my trainer is helping me build confidence and comfort with it. Otherwise, like all dogs I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I’m current on my annual vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. I also had a thorough dental cleaning, so my mouth is fresh and healthy again! I have chronic dry eyes and need daily Cyclosporine eye drops. The drops can be a bit challenging for me, but my trainer will gladly share helpful strategies to make administering them easier and more successful. My ears are still a work in progress, as I arrived with long-untreated chronic ear infections. I’ve had several rounds of cleaning and medications, but this will likely be an ongoing condition due to the past neglect. I’ll need my family to stay proactive about my ear care, which will include some sedated treatments - just ask for more details. I’m currently receiving weekly medicated baths and taking fish oil supplements as my skin and coat continue to improve, and those baths can easily be continued at home in a shower setting. I also take an allergy/itch medication called Zenrelia to help keep my skin comfortable. I’m a wonderful fellow looking to soak up the good life with a kind and gentle family and to be well taken care of and loved.
