I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control along with another friend, and I’m so happy to be safe and loved while I wait for my forever family. I’m in a wonderful foster home now while I wait for my furever family to find me. Perhaps you? • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I came in with a dog friend and have met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them. I also liked to run around with and nap next to the 25-lb. puppy and 45-lb. 3-year-old dog in a temp. foster home, as well as the 8–10-year-old female dogs I snuggled with in another foster home, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I like to snuggle with and enjoyed my time with the calm 15-year-old girl who visited my foster; however, I had a negative reaction to younger kids I met at the MM shelter that were a bit more rambunctious. I backed away and made some noise showing that I did not like that. So, if you have older kids such as 15+ that are calmer and sweet, let's meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a sweet, handsome boy with a gentle and happy personality and a loving heart. I can be a little shy and timid when I first meet new people, especially men, or experience new things, but my friendly nature quickly shines through. My foster says “everyone who has met him, me included, thinks he's perfect. He is such a good boy.” My fosters think I would do really well with someone who is home quite a bit who is looking for a wonderful constant companion as I really love being a little shadow. Do you need one? Can’t you just picture it? Wherever you go, I would be there to trot alongside, hang out on the couch, play with some fun squeaky toys . . . wherever you are, I would just be happy to be there! / Energy level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I've mastered the ‘sit’ command and I look forward to learning more. In my foster home, I don’t want to spend much time in there, but when it’s time for bed, I go into my crate for a treat and may bark or whine for a few minutes, then I sleep well overnight. / My potty manners have been good on the shelter schedule. In foster, I did a bit of marking the first day each time I went to a new house, but after my foster tells me 'no', I have had good potty manners after that. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I like cuddling on the couch, following my foster everywhere, spending time with them just making sure they know that they are loved! I also enjoy treats, Nylabones, squeaky toys, spending time with my dog friends, and giving you some sweet kisses! I've had lots of fun with the wonderful volunteers, and I was even selected to participate in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training program, where I learned so much. I was adopted for a short time, but my young dog mouthiness was a bit much for them, so I'm looking for a dog-savvy home that enjoys training and helping young dogs grow into their best selves. I can't wait to find my perfect family and start my happily-ever-after! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I liked playing with them! So, if you have a dog at home already, let's meet and see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / Kids 15+ would be the best fit for me since I am mouthy, so if you have kids that age or older—perhaps dog experienced, let's meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I'm a friendly, playful, and very active girl with a sweet personality, and a great smile to match! I'm a lot of dog with plenty of energy, lots of love to give, and I'm always ready to be part of the fun. I'm a kiss-giver who looks to my people for direction and reassurance, making me a loving and attentive companion. I would do best with a dog-savvy family who can help me continue learning appropriate ways to channel my enthusiasm. Sometimes I see side-to-side movements, like mopping or leaf blowing, as an invitation to play and may get a bit mouthy—even if your back is turned—so I'll need guidance and redirection to help me make good choices. I also appreciate it when new friends let me approach as I just need a moment to warm up, and then my sweet, affectionate personality shines through. I have been on lots of daytrips/hikes with my favorite volunteers and I have gotten more comfortable seeing lots of people out and about. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners using my EZ walk harness as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. A favorite daytripper says that on hikes, I may pull a bit at first, but using "uh-uh" and stopping until I use loose leash to "walk" helps. Let's continue my training together, as there are more classes we can take with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / I'm doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts, and I come out ready to go and have some fun—and a little excitedly mouthy! I would not want to spend a lot of time in a crate in my new home as I'm too active for that. / My potty habits have been good at Mostly Mutts and were good on the off-site training program schedule, too, and being crated in the evenings helps set me up for success so there are not overnight accidents. I slept in a gated room for my temp. foster sleepover and had no accidents overnight. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love going for walks, exploring on nature adventures with my people, splashing in streams, and running joyful zoomies in the play yard! I also enjoy car rides, playing with toys, getting ear scratches, and spending time with the nice volunteers. An active family that loves the outdoors and spending engaging time with me would be a good match! / Other than possibly not liking hats, I wouldn't be happy in a home that I didn't get enough active exercise and good leadership and like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. A nice, fenced yard would be great for our play sessions. When it's time to relax, I enjoy lots of petting & cuddles, & I secretly believe I'm a lap dog, so don't be surprised if I climb up & give you a big hug with my paws on your shoulders as I love being close to my people. I also like my morning walks, though I'll need a strong walker since I'm a strong boy & can sometimes be reactive to people & other animals (though in my foster home I've improved so much at not being reactive to people). In fact, on our nice quiet neighborhood walks I'm thrilled to visit the neighbors who pet me, even pulling toward their houses—they are my fan club! I previously reacted to the vacuum cleaner & doorbells, but I'm getting better at not chasing the vacuum cleaner & settle much quicker when the doorbell rings in my foster home. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped & neutered. I should wear a muzzle or be pre-medicated when vetted & for nail trims as this can be pretty frightening to me. I can be vocal when playing and meeting other dogs and my responses to seeing dogs from afar are improving. It helped when I had a few visits with the same dog, so if you have a nice, patient doggie at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. I think I would also be fine with being your only dog. / Cats unknown. / I met two nice boys around 6 years old at Mostly Mutts and did well with them, so a home with kids ages 10 and up could be a good fit for me—and kids should not hug me (as I don’t like to feel restrained). I rescued this dog over 2 years ago from a friend that had puppy’s. For the first year she was perfect with the other dogs in my house. She got bit by one of the small dogs in my home and it turned her. She attacked him. She gets along w a large calm dog in my home. She is 2.5 years old. Vet gave her anxiety meds to see if that helps but since the small dogs are traumatized from the attacks I can’t keep her around them. They are older. She is a lover. She takes care of my autistic 5 year old nephew and loves cuddling in my bed with me. Loves all people. She loves chasing squirrels and birds in the back yard. She loves treats. It has gotten difficult on my older parents to keep all dogs separate and while I work. I work a lot. This is very hard for me. But my living situation just can’t handle this right now. When we go on walks she doesn’t even react. Maybe it’s the dogs in my house? I just want to find her a home to be spoiled in. It’s what she deserves. Help?

I’m an excitedly vocal player, so if you have dogs at home already that wouldn’t mind this, let’s meet! / We all agree that I should not live with cats. I have shown a prey drive on my walks towards squirrels and other small animals; however, I was friendly with the >10 lb. chihuahua neighbor dog in my foster home. / I have met several children of various ages with my foster and have done well with them, accepting pets while displaying my calm and affectionate nature. If you have kids at home, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a friendly, fun, and happy guy with a playful, goofy, and sweet personality who is full of love. If she doesn’t come quick enough, I’ll go running around the house looking for her! • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love playing with toys, especially tennis balls, and I never say no to a peanut butter treat, pup cup, or bully stick. I’ve destuffed a few toys and shredded a blanket, so please just watch me with these items. Chin scratches are the best, and they always make my tail wag! I enjoy hikes and visiting craft festivals / farmers markets with my foster where I have not minded the crowds. I look to my foster for permission to hop onto the couch. Once she gives it, I love to cuddle and snuggle with her.
