Story
This precious boy is Tank! He arrived at the shelter as a lost dog on 6/6, and sadly, no one has come to reclaim him. Tank has been very, very shy in the shelter. The shelter is a loud, overwhelming place for many dogs, so we're not surprised he is worried. The volunteers describe him as very sweet despite his shyness. He is a good boy; quiet in his kennel, and he sits nicely when asked. If you have a soft spot for the shy kids, please come meet Tank! Tank is approximately 6 years old and weighs 49 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines and did test negative for heartworms. He will be neutered and microchipped upon adoption. Tank is waiting patiently in run 827; his ID # is 10663. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Introducing Octavio! He was brought to the shelter on 6/25 because he was on a journey to find his way home and got lost. Sadly, no one has come to reclaim him. So he is on a quick search for that forever home who will keep him safe and secure so he doesn't experience a loud, overcrowded shelter ever again. Octavio is only 4 years old and weighs a mere 30lbs. The volunteers describe him as beautiful and sweet, cute, and obedient. We are hoping he is not being overlooked simply because he is small for his size. As they say, great things come in small packages, right? He is also a smart young gentleman as he knows how to sit when he is asked. Please take some time and visit with him in Run 86; his ID is 11431. He is waiting for you! Please help him find his way out of the shelter and into your heart, home and family. When choosing a forever pup, please make sure you have the space, time. energy, devotion, patience, and lifestyle to ensure Octavio has the best upbringing possible. Octavio is current on vaccines, already neutered and microchipped and tested negative for heartworms. Please take some time and schedule to meet this awesome kiddo and get to know him a little better. Octavio is probably what you have been looking for all this time. He is patiently waiting for his forever family to save his life. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Story
A FUN, PLAYFUL & ACTIVE GUY:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 35 lbs.  Hi, my name is Asher!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I’m very grateful.  The volunteers are taken with my unusual breed mix and my handsome ginger brindle coat, and compact body.  I bet you will be, too! I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off-site and learned a lot!  I am currently in a wonderful foster home, where I am able to continue all of my training.  My foster mom and dad say that I am a VERY good student! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I have met other dogs at Mostly Mutts as well as in my foster home and liked them, though I can be barky when I see other dogs – not to worry – my trainer will show you how to introduce me to other dogs, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I get a little excited to see children, so kids age 10+ would be the best fit for me, as I wouldn’t want to bump over younger children and toddlers.  Of course, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet guy who has earned the reputation of being ‘goofy and funny’ around the shelter.  I’m happy with a fun nature, and sure to be a great addition to your family.  I am full of playful energy and am not shy about speaking my mind, so I don’t think an apartment/condo-type home would be a good fit for me.  I would love a backyard with a fence, as one of my favorite activities is chasing a ball.  I will even bring it back to you as long as you will throw it.  My foster parents have realized that I am also very good at entertaining myself inside, so I make a good office dog.  I really enjoy going on walks, and enjoy several of them during the day in my foster home.  I’m a lot of dog in a little package. I’m also very sweet and fun!  I am great in the shower, when my foster parents give me my weekly bath.  Affectionate and social, I have all the traits of a great companion. I, however, am not the kind of dog you would take to the kids’ sporting events, or a busy park, etc. since I can be reactive. I look forward to meeting all the members of my new home at my adoption! / My energy level is 6–8, so I am looking for a family member who will be active with me.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I get distracted by sounds I hear on my walk that I don’t recognize, so my trainer is using the ‘leave it’ command to keep me on track on our walks.  I’m very food motivated, so that makes my training fun and yummy! / I did well in my little room at Mostly Mutts. In my foster home, I have perfect crate manners, and easily go into my crate when my foster parents have to leave the house.  I even put myself to bed at night, by going into my crate without being asked. / In my foster home, I have had perfect potty manners and have not had a single accident.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I LOVE toys and enjoy having fun with them and I can entertain myself with a toy while you're busy, or if you prefer, I'd love to play fetch — just throw me a ball!  I’d enjoy a nice, fenced yard where we can have lots of play sessions together.  When it’s time to chill, I always enjoy a good petting and some cuddles with my people.  I secretly believe that I am a lap dog, so often times I will sit in your lap and wrap my front legs around your neck for a big hug.  I also enjoy my walks, but I need a strong walker, as I am a strong boy and can be reactive to people and other animals on walks.  I absolutely love car rides, so let's hit the road and find some nice, more quiet places to explore together! / I have been frightened by certain loud motors, the vacuum etc. so I don’t like those. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a dog savvy family where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  April 23, 2025, 7:07 am

Story
We adopted this sweet girl from the shelter a few months ago. She was very shy and laid back. We thought that was her personality. No fault of her own or the shelter we got her home and her personality came shining out! She has a lot of puppy in her. She is a high energy and very rambunctious dog. She needs someone who can take up a lot of time with her, train her and give her the attention she deserves. I hate giving her up but due to my anxiety and depression she has become to much for me. She is dog reactive due to being in a kennel, but I believe that can be reversed as shes not even 2 yet. She is treat motivated and allergic to puporoni treats. Her favorite treat is peanut butter in her Kong or a cone. She is on a strict diet of ol Roy dogfood because she has a sensitive stomach. I’m willing to travel for the right owner. She comes with kennel, collar, leash, blankets, dog bowls dog food and a few toys.

Story
Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullName: Baby (fka Baby Shark) Breed: Pitbull Terrier Location: Acworth, Ga   RESCUING BABY Baby was just seven weeks old when she was seized in a dog fighting bust. The feds stepped in and housed all the dogs from the case. Once the dogs were released from custody, they sent her back to us where we had a foster home waiting. Baby's legs were deformed so we got her the best medical care right away. Today, she has been rehabilitated and is ready to find her forever home! ABOUT BABY Baby is a petite girl with the biggest smile and goofy personality! She has been working hard with our trainer Frank and Be Still Dog Training to learn how to be the best girl. Baby loves people, playing, and toys. She can do well with other MALE dogs with strong leadership but would do great as an only dog too. She walks great on the leash, has excellent manners, is housebroken, and crate trained. This beautiful girl is looking for a family with a confident owner who can continue with all of the things she has learned in training. Could you be the family for her? ADOPTING BABY Baby is spayed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. She is on monthly preventative. She is eating high-quality grain-free dry dog food. Her adoption fee is $300. If you are interested in meeting or adopting Baby, please complete an adoption application at: https://www.friendstotheforlorn.org/adoption-application.
