Story
Sebastian is a 1½-year-old neutered male mixed-breed adopted from Lifeline last summer. He’s a loyal, loving dog with many standout qualities. He is fully house-trained (never an accident), crate trained, well trained on most commands, rarely barks, sheds very little, and stays securely in a fenced yard without trying to escape. Sebastian is affectionate and gentle with his people—you can safely take toys or food from him. Sebastian is protective of his home and family and can be reactive to unfamiliar people entering the house, so he needs an experienced adopter who can continue his training. He previously attended dog daycare but it is no longer a good fit. He currently lives peacefully with another dog and has shared the yard without issues for over six months. He is aware of cats and generally ignores them, though separation is recommended. Sebastian would thrive in a calm, structured home with experienced owners and limited visitors. He is a deeply loyal and rewarding companion

Story
A FUN, PLAYFUL & ACTIVE GUY: Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 35 lbs. Hi, my name is Asher! Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I’m very grateful. The volunteers are taken with my unusual breed mix and my handsome ginger brindle coat, and compact body. I bet you will be, too! I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off-site and learned a lot! I am currently in a wonderful foster home, where I am able to continue all of my training. My foster mom and dad say that I am a VERY good student! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I have met other dogs at Mostly Mutts as well as in my foster home and liked them a lot! I also played along the fence line with another doggie in a temporary foster home when my regular foster was away – what fun!! I think I would ‘thrive’ in a home with another dog! I can be barky when I see other dogs – not to worry – my trainer will show you how to introduce me to other dogs, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I get a little excited to see children, so kids age 10+ would be the best fit for me, as I wouldn’t want to bump over younger children and toddlers. Of course, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a sweet guy who has earned the reputation of being ‘goofy and funny’ around the shelter. I’m happy with a fun nature, and sure to be a great addition to your family. I am full of playful energy and am not shy about speaking my mind, so I don’t think an apartment/condo-type home would be a good fit for me. I would love a backyard with a fence, as one of my favorite activities is chasing a ball. I will even bring it back to you as long as you will throw it. My foster parents have realized that I am also very good at entertaining myself inside, so I make a good office dog. I really enjoy going on walks, and enjoy several of them during the day in my foster home. I’m a lot of dog in a little package. I’m also very sweet and fun! I am great in the shower, when my foster parents give me my weekly bath. Affectionate and social, I have all the traits of a great companion. I, however, am not the kind of dog you would take to the kids’ sporting events, or a busy park, etc. since I can be reactive. I look forward to meeting all the members of my new home at my adoption! / My energy level is 6–8, so I am looking for a family member who will be active with me. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. I get distracted by sounds I hear on my walk that I don’t recognize, so my trainer is using the ‘leave it’ command to keep me on track on our walks. I’m very food motivated, so that makes my training fun and yummy! / I did well in my little room at Mostly Mutts. In my foster home, I have perfect crate manners, and easily go into my crate when my foster parents have to leave the house. I even put myself to bed at night, by going into my crate without being asked. / In my foster home, I have had perfect potty manners and have not had a single accident. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I LOVE toys and enjoy having fun with them and I can entertain myself with a toy while you're busy, or if you prefer, I'd love to play fetch — just throw me a ball! I’d enjoy a nice, fenced yard where we can have lots of play sessions together. When it’s time to chill, I always enjoy a good petting and some cuddles with my people. I secretly believe that I am a lap dog, so often times I will sit in your lap and wrap my front legs around your neck for a big hug. I also enjoy my walks, but I need a strong walker, as I am a strong boy and can be reactive to people and other animals on walks. I absolutely love car rides, so let's hit the road and find some nice, more quiet places to explore together! / I have been frightened by certain loud motors, the vacuum etc. so I don’t like those. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a dog savvy family where I will be a cherished family member! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga. August 26, 2025, 6:30 am

Story
Meet Beatrice! At 3 years old and 42 lbs&#44 this sweetheart is the perfect mix of silly and snuggly. She loves her zoomies&#44 squeaky toys&#44 and any excuse to show off her playful side. Beatrice has done well with water&#44 enjoys adventures&#44 and walks beautifully on a leash. Shes potty trained&#44 still working on her crate training&#44 and has great manners overall.

While Beatrice is always ready for fun&#44 her favorite thing in the world is cuddling. Shes a total love bug who will happily curl up with you for naps or sleep by your side at night. She has a medium energy level-enough to keep up on outings&#44 but she also adores downtime.

Beatrice has done well meeting kids and could be a wonderful family companion. She would prefer to meet your resident pup first and we recommend slow introductions. Shell need a cat-free home&#44 but she more than makes up for it with her charm&#44 personality&#44 and adorable little underbite.

If youre looking for a playful&#44 affectionate dog who will fill your life with love and laughter&#44 Beatrice is your girl!

Story
Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullName: Fig Breed: Pitbull Terrier Sex: Female Approx. DOB: 10/27/2019 Weight: 50 lbs Location: Powder Springs, Ga RESCUING FIG Fig was originally found as a stray in Rockmart. Clearly emaciated and in need of medical care and love, she needed help. Animal control was completely full but allowed the finder to keep her during the stray hold. The kind lady who found her had recently taken in another stray dog who needed help as well, so she wasn't in a position to keep Fig but was determined to make sure she was safe. Thankfully, after learning about Fig, we had a foster step up and she got her Freedom Ride on 10/26/2023. Despite her condition, she was sweet as can be and ready to get the love and care she deserves. ABOUT FIG Fig is a gorgeous and funny girl, so full of life now that she has gained weight and is feeling better! During her intake exam, we learned Fig was heartworm positive, so she had to take it easy while going through heartworm treatment. She completed treatment in 2024 and shouldn't have any lasting effects or damage. Fig is crate trained and housebroken, sometimes choosing to go into her crate on her own for naps. She loves to play with her two foster brothers, but sometimes doesn't understand the cues when another dog isn't in the mood, so her foster and our trainers are helping Fig learn "how to dog" politely so she can have fun with new dog friends. Fig is solar-powered, she loves to be in the sun! If it’s too hot to be outside, she’ll find a sunny spot by the window to relax. She has learned how to walk nicely on a leash as well as commands like "sit", “down”, "wait", "crate", “shake”, “leave it”, and even "spin". Fig is very food-motivated, which makes her a good student but can also be stubborn when distracted. She is very patient when it comes to nail trims, ear cleanings, and baths. Her favorite things are playing in the yard, playing with chew toys, swimming, and going for walks! She's a very sweet girl who makes cute grunts when excited. She does have goofy puppy energy sometimes but also loves cuddling up on the bed or the couch. ADOPTING FIG Fig's foster says "Fig's perfect family would be people that have experience with dogs and that like to be outside. With proper training, I think she would be a good sister to another dog and likely would be good with older kids. She's a sweet girl that acts younger than she is. I don't think she had a lot of human contact or teaching previously, so we’ve been working on how to be the goodest girl! She learns pretty quickly and will do anything for some yummy snacks." Fig is up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. She is on monthly preventative and eating premium grain-free dry dog food. Her adoption fee is $300. If you are interested in meeting Fig or possibly adopting her, please complete an adoption application at: https://www.friendstotheforlorn.org/adoption-application. If you have any questions, please email us at adopt@friendstotheforlorn.org.www.savingpitbulls.orgJuly 25, 2025, 8:21 pm

Story
Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullBreed: Pit Bull Terrier Gender: Male Estimated Date of Birth: August 16, 2016 Size: 45 lbs Location: Dallas, GA ABOUT CHIPPER Chipper is 7 years old and he is such a cool dog and absolutely beautiful! Chipper is a super smart and happy boy. He is medium energy, loves a good zoomie in the yard and loves a good couch snuggle fest. His perfect home would be with a family that is pitbull savvy and has a 6ft privacy fenced yard and also leash walks as Chipper enjoys getting out and about. Chipper would do best as an only dog. Chipper has been tested with children and has done fantastic with children ages 10+. The kids were able to play with him, walk him, hang out inside playing and enjoy time on the swingset together. Chipper listens well and falls into a structured routine quickly. Chipper does not do well with cats. He walks well on a leash and once he gets into a routine should do fine. He is housebroken, crate-trained and loves riding in the car. We are all hoping that someone out there can give this boy a chance to find the perfect family that can make him the center of their world. He has a lot of love to give and is just the sweetest boy. We have a volunteer that takes him to their home for the day and he does great and just lounges on the couch and chews bones. He is really a great dog that yearns for the day to have a family again. If you are interested in learning more about Chipper or meeting him please email adopt@friendstotheforlorn.org. You can also complete an adoption application online at: https://www.friendstotheforlorn.org/adoption-application/ Photo Album of Chipper: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1423728577685304.1073742181.162554320469409&type=1&l=0b34799622 Our adoption fee is $300.00. Chipper is neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested negative, dewormed, microchipped and on heartworm/flea/tick preventative. He is eating Premium Grain Free dry dog food. www.savingpitbulls.orgNovember 4, 2024, 12:01 am
