AN ACTIVE, HAPPY PUPPY:  Approx. 4-5 months old / Approx. 31 lbs. & growing Hello – I’m Murphy!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am so grateful for their love and care as I wait for my new family to find me.  I’m ready to meet them and start the good life, so – don’t wait – come let me rescue you!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a nice dog at home that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.    • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a sweet, very playful boy who’s friendly, happy, active, fun, and smart! Sometimes the volunteers take me to the play yard in addition to my walks so I can run off some of my extra energy.  I was well behaved for my shelter bath and ear cleaning and seem to be a pretty good listener, too.  I’ve even heard the volunteers call me “a wonderful pup,” and that sure makes me happy! / Energy level: 6-8, so I’ll want a family that will be active with me. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’ and ‘place’ commands and I look forward to learning more.  Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs!  I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog – including starting to train me not to chew on things I shouldn’t (I chewed up the plastic slow feeder … oops …, so now it is a metal slow feeder for me). / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I've been having some accidents on the shelter schedule.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  A typical young pup, I LOVE to play and I love treats!  Capturing toys and running around in the play yard are two of my favorite things.  I would love a fenced yard in my new home where we can do just that together!  An affectionate guy, I also love to cuddle - so let’s make time for that between my play sessions, okay? / I don’t like my collar being grabbed and I did snap at someone who did that before they knew it.  Other than that, I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, though like all dogs I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow.  I’m also micro-chipped and neutered. If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    May 20, 2026, 10:30 am

Story
A FRIENDLY & ACTIVE PAL:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 36 lbs. Hello – I’m Rockette!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I am so happy to be part of the family!  I’ve been having fun with the volunteers and now I’m in the prison/foster training program off-site learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and I liked playing with them, though I can get a little worn out after a while, so I appreciate having breaks or quiet time between play sessions.  If you have a dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no very young kids that I may bump over with my enthusiasm.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a friendly, playful, and very active girl with a sweet disposition and a beautiful gaze (and a great smile, too!).  I love to give kisses and look to my people for some direction and reassurance, making me a loving and attentive companion.  I appreciate when new friends let me come to them at my own pace.  I just need a moment to warm up, but once I do, my sweet personality shines through quickly.  / Energy level: 5-7, so let’s be active together.      • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners using my EZ walk harness as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits are good on the prison/foster training program schedule, and being crated in the evenings helps set me up for success so there are not overnight accidents.  • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love ear scratches, playing with toys, and spending time with the nice volunteers.  Running zoomies in the play yard is also one of my favorite ways to have fun! / I can’t think of any dislikes, though like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m a fun and active girl looking for a wonderful family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  May 20, 2026, 10:30 am

Story
A SUPER FRIENDLY GIRL:  Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 31 lbs. Hi, my name is Nora!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control.  I’ve been through a lot and am looking forward to finding my new family with Mostly Mutts’ help.  I needed to have my tail amputated to get relief from the pain of happy tail.  Also, I am heartworm positive.  The good news is my tail amputation is behind me, and I will be treated for heartworms soon!  I am excited for the life that awaits me in a happy, loving home! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’ve met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was very talkative, but not aggressive, so if you have a nice doggie at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.      • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me as a smart girl who is ‘super curious and a lover of attention’.  I’m a ‘people dog’ who is playful and happy.  I was a bit nervous for my shelter bath, but also so sweet and well-behaved … just a delightful girl.  I am ready to be a great companion to a wonderful family. / Energy level:  5-7 though I’ll need to stay a bit calmer until I’ve finished my heartworm treatment.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’ and ‘leave it’ commands, and I look forward to learning more. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / I’ve not been crated due to my happy tail.  Instead, I’ve been in one of the individual rooms at the shelter. / I've schedule, so I can master my potty skills.           • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to give and receive affection – collecting snuggles and leaning in for a nice hug.  It’s just the best!  I always enjoy it when the volunteers break out the toys at the shelter.  Play time is always fun! / I can’t think of any dislikes, though like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  My tail has been amputated, so it is no longer painful.  Since my previous owner did not keep me on heartworm prevention, I’m heartworm positive.  Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of my treatment with their vet at the end of May 2026, so local adoption please.  I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my new family should consult their vet about a dental cleaning in the future.  I’m looking for a wonderful home with a loving family that will treasure me for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  May 20, 2026, 10:30 am

Story
A FUN, PLAYFUL & ACTIVE GUY:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 40 lbs.  Hi, my name is Asher!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, & I’m very grateful.  The volunteers are taken with my unusual breed mix, my handsome ginger brindle coat, & compact body.  I bet you will be, too! I spent some time in the prison/foster training program & learned a lot!  I am currently in a wonderful foster home, waiting for my match! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I enjoy playing with & going for walks with other dogs I’ve met at Mostly Mutts, but I should not live with another dog as I have guarded toys & dog beds from them.  I can be barky/reactive when I see other dogs – not to worry – my trainer will show you exactly how to introduce me to other dogs, so let’s meet! / No cats! / I get a little excited to see children, so kids age 15+ would be the best fit for me, as I wouldn’t want to bump over younger children & toddlers make me uncomfortable. So, if you have kids 15+ let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet, happy & fun-natured guy who has earned the reputation of being ‘goofy & funny’ around the shelter. I am full of playful energy & am not shy about speaking my mind, so I don’t think an apartment/condo-type home would be a good fit for me.  I would love a backyard with a fence, as one of my favorite activities is chasing a ball.  I will even bring it back to you as long as you will throw it.  My foster parents have realized that I am also very good at entertaining myself inside, so I’d make a good office dog.  I really enjoy going on walks & I do enjoy several of them during the day in my foster home.  I’m a lot of dog in a medium sized package.  I’m also very sweet, protective & fun!  I am great in the shower or bath, when my foster parents give me my weekly bath.  Affectionate & social with the people I’ve been properly introduced to, I have all the traits of a great companion. I, however, am not the kind of dog you would take to the kids’ sporting events, or a busy park, etc. since I can be reactive.  I look forward to meeting all the members of my new home at my adoption! / My energy level is 6–8, so I am looking for a family member who will be active with me.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ & ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette & have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping when properly introduced.  I get distracted by sounds I hear on my walk that I don’t recognize, so my trainer used the ‘leave it’ command to keep me on track on our walks.  I’m very food motivated, so that makes my training fun & yummy! Let's continue my training as there are more classes I can take through the free lifetime training that Mostly Mutts offers for their rescue dogs. / I did well in my little room at Mostly Mutts.  In my foster home, I have perfect crate manners, & easily go into my crate when my foster parents have to leave the house.  I even put myself to bed at night, by going into my crate without being asked. / In my foster home, I have had wonderful potty manners with no accidents.    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I LOVE toys - especially rubber ones with deep squeakers, Nylabones, & large squeaky tennis balls.  I can entertain myself while you’re busy, or we can play fetch together -  just throw the ball!  A nice, fenced yard would be great for our play sessions. When it’s time to relax, I enjoy lots of petting & cuddles, & I secretly believe I’m a lap dog, so don’t be surprised if I climb up & give you a big hug with my paws on your shoulders. I also like walks, though I’ll need a strong walker since I’m a strong boy & can sometimes be reactive to people & other animals, so let’s go find some quieter places to explore together. I absolutely love car rides, too! / I have been frightened by certain loud motors, the vacuum, doorbells ,etc., but I can be trained not to react to those as I’m smart. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, & training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped & neutered. I may need to wear a muzzle when vetted & for nail trims as this can be frightening to me. I am looking for a dog savvy family where I will be cherished!  My adoption fee is $299.00, & I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    May 20, 2026, 10:30 am

A FRIENDLY & FUN GIRL:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 34 lbs. Hi, I’m Taryn!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and am enjoying my time with the nice volunteers, who spend time with and take great care of me.  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off-site and learned a lot!   Now I hear that I’m ready to find a wonderful family of my very own – where I can love and be loved furever!  I hope to meet them very soon!         • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and I needed some time to warm up to them, but once I did, I liked them.  I can be vocal when playing and meeting other dogs.  It helped when I had a few visits with the same dog, so if you have a nice, patient doggie at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over, and kids should not hug me (as I don’t like to feel restrained).    • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m described as a friendly, active, happy, and fun dog.  I love nothing more than I love people!  I was very sweet and handled my bath, and nail trim well.  I am a bit vocal when I see other dogs or people and fast movements or loud noises may startle me, but I recover quickly.  / Energy level: 4-6.      • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / My crate manners have been good.  In the prison/foster training program, I didn’t need a crate and enjoyed sleeping outside of it.  / My potty habits are good on the prison/foster training program schedule, so hopefully that’ll be the case in my new home, too! • LIKES/DISLIKES: Spending time with the volunteers is my favorite thing, and I’ll gladly soak up all the attention, pets, and affection you have to give.  I also like playing with toys, and I’m sure we’ll discover lots of other things we’ll enjoy doing together in my new home. / Other than other dogs and restraint for my vetting, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I wasn’t a fan of being restrained during vetting, so a muzzle may be helpful during my vetting.  I’m a fun-loving gal looking for a wonderful family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  May 20, 2026, 10:30 am

Jade is very sweet with the right people. She’s very territorial. she doesn’t need to be in a home with any other animals except maybe dogs bigger or the same size as her but we’ve never tried that so I’m not sure. She gets along with the neighbors pitbull is why I say that. She is full blooded American XL bully. Right now she probably sits at 110. She doesn’t do too good as far as walking she pulls and she’s strong. But if you have a fence or a runner that would work. You can walk her she just pulls. I’m sure she would do good with training. She is potty trained for the most part. She’s definitely crate trained except instead of a crate we use our bathroom. She can sit shake and be easy. She would probably do better with older kids bc she is so big and doesn’t understand how big she really is. She would either need to be fixed or kept away from males when in heat as she doesn’t do well with her pups I bottle fed her last and only litter. She needs room to run I can get her fixed if ne

Story
Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullBreed: Pit Bull Terrier Gender: Male Estimated Date of Birth: August 16, 2016 Size:  45 lbs Location:  Dallas, GA ABOUT CHIPPER Chipper is 7 years old and he is such a cool dog and absolutely beautiful!  Chipper is a super smart and happy boy.  He is medium energy, loves a good zoomie in the yard and loves a good couch snuggle fest. His perfect home would be with a family that is pitbull savvy and has a 6ft privacy fenced yard and also leash walks as Chipper enjoys getting out and about. Chipper would do best as an only dog. Chipper has been tested with children and has done fantastic with children ages 10+.  The kids were able to play with him, walk him, hang out inside playing and enjoy time on the swingset together.  Chipper listens well and falls into a structured routine quickly.  Chipper does not do well with cats.  He walks well on a leash and once he gets into a routine should do fine.  He is housebroken, crate-trained and loves riding in the car.  We are all hoping that someone out there can give this boy a chance to find the perfect family that can make him the center of their world.  He has a lot of love to give and is just the sweetest boy.  We have a volunteer that takes him to their home for the day and he does great and just lounges on the couch and chews bones.  He is really a great dog that yearns for the day to have a family again. If you are interested in learning more about Chipper or meeting him please email adopt@friendstotheforlorn.org.  You can also complete an adoption application online at:  https://www.friendstotheforlorn.org/adoption-application/   Photo Album of Chipper: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1423728577685304.1073742181.162554320469409&type=1&l=0b34799622 Our adoption fee is $300.00.   Chipper is neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested negative, dewormed, microchipped and on heartworm/flea/tick preventative.  He is eating Premium Grain Free dry dog food.  www.savingpitbulls.orgNovember 4, 2024, 12:01 am
