Pretty Peculiar Piper came to us after being taken out of a hoarding situation and in to an Indiana municipal shelter. This is a nice girl who is good with other dogs & with people. She is very sweet but would benefit from some basic obedience and confidence building. Her approx. birth date is 07/04/24 and she currently weighs 47# full grown. She had severe skin issues from her previous home's terrible conditions and her hair may never grow back. This girl is house trained, Great with cats & kids, loves car rides and is great on a leash! She has been vet. checked, spayed, micro chipped, is up to date on routine shots & wormings including rabies, and has been treated with flea & heart worm preventative per our protocol. She is heart worm and tick born illness negative. Her adoption donation is $300 and needs to be cash, certified check, money order or a debit/credit card. There is a 3% processing fee when using a debit/credit card. Please note that any additional funding collected for this pet goes back into our medical acct. to provide for other dogs in need. Meet Jude.... she is a beautiful brown / black brindle female boxer mix. She is a sweet soul who wants to be where you are. She is very friendly and wants to meet and greet everyone (no one is a stranger). She can be a little shy at first meeting, but in no time she will determine if she can snuggle up and call you hers. Given her love of people, she does not like to be left alone. She will do best in a household where someone is home most of the day or she can travel with you. She is very very well behaved if she has a person with her. If she is alone she will find things to get into and will scratch and chew things. If left alone, she will need to be crated in a heavy duty, non-wire crate to keep her safe. She is using a crate in her foster home and does get anxious at first going in, but does settle down in 5-15 mintues. She is great with cats however she sometimes does try to chase them in a playful manner, but does really well when being called over to leave them be. She seems to know the "leave it" command. Jude is also good with other dogs, she is friendly and does the appropriate get to know you sniff but is not too intrusive. So, she would be fine in a house with other pets. Jude wants to believe she’s a lap dog. She'll make the lap thing happen! She gets very excited for food and would do best with a slow feeder to keep her from scarfing her food in 2 seconds. P.S. She’s super soft ! Come and meet Jude and pet her soft, sweet face for yourself. ##943684##

Freddy is a wonderful dog and great companion. He is what is called a Boxerdor - a Lab/Boxer mix we bought from a private breeder. He will be 6 years old in September. He loves to run and play and he loves people. Freddy is extremely loving, deeply loyal and relational, very smart and still playful. He is protective of my husband and I. And therefore, he has had a few instances of attacking a dog he thought was posing a threat. However, at other times, Fred gets along beautifully with other dogs and enjoys their company greatly. We have NEVER had any complaints from the kennel we use. He is very well behaved when he goes to the Vet or for a bath and nail trim. My husband and I are now both retire and he is too large a dog for us to keep up with.... And when we want to travel for extended times it is simply too expensive on our limited income for us to continue boarding him when we are away. All we want is for him to be in a loving, caring home.

This darling pup is about a year old, pit mix. Her name is Zara. She weighs about 55 lbs I was asked by a family member if I could help this dog because she was being neglected. Tied in the yard for hours without food or water or kept confined to the kitchen. She got little to no attention. She is house trained via a dog door, has not chewed or destroyed anything in my house, she gets along with other dogs and she is cat curious. My cats put her in her place if she gets too close. She is starved for attention and human interaction. She listens very well, but cowers if you raise your voice at her, which makes me think she was being hit while she was being yelled at. She does need to learn some manners, she does jump up on you and wants to sit on you if you are sitting. My ideal home for Zara would be the only pet so she can get all the attention.
