Story
DESPERATELY NEEDING HIS FOREVER FAMILY!!! Don't Roger's sweet eyes call to you?  Roger is an 9-10 year old boy, 75ish lb Lab mix who is sadly looking for a home where he can spend his senior years! His owner has health issues which are causing the sad decision to rehome Roger. He needs a home with no kids under the age of 16, as he tends to be a resource guarder when he has something in his mouth and someone tries to get it from him, so dog savvy owners would be best for this handsome boy. He is in a foster home and they say: "Roger lives with other dogs and he’s never had a problem in terms of getting into arguments or anything. I’ve NEVER heard him growl. He just forgets his size sometimes when he gets playful. He gets boisterous when he gets some zoomies and it can sort of spook other dogs that are more chill. Most of the time though he prefers to just be napping. When asked if he was good with cats- yes! He is fine with my senior cat... he avoids her. He gets very scared if she tries to swat at him….he's just a big baby basically who couldn’t hurt a fly. Roger is good on walks… just prefers going slow and taking his time, and he rides in a car well. This guy loves snuggling on the couch too! He is a sweet dog and just loves to be around me, loves to get affection and be petted, and follows me from room to room! Roger lets me know when people are at the house because he gets so excited and he barks some when they come in, but settles down quickly and melts into the background after about 5 minutes. He is very well house trained and has never had an accident in the house, and he will bark and let me know when he needs to go out or when he needs/wants something".  He used to have a doggie companion who passed away and he is said to miss his friend and is lonely. Story
Momo came into our lives about a month ago on a bit of a trial run gone wrong. We were supposed to have a few days with him to see how he got along in our home and how he adjusted to our cat. We found out they do not get along at all (more her than him), and that our space is not large enough to fully keep them separated long term without eventual issue, but his original owners were unable to take him back. In the month he’s been with us, he’s been a GREAT dog - our setup is just less than ideal for him. He’s incredibly loving and cuddly, has a lot of energy, and loves a good pet. The only “issue” he seems to have is with small animals, he chases after squirrels and rabbits on site and that’s the same issue with our cat. Had him around other dogs and he’s been fine, he’s lived around small children, really he just needs a space that is small animal free. Think he would be great for a family’s first dog or anyone who can give him the love and attention he deserves!

Story
She is a lovable beautiful dog. I cherish her. But she just is not good with new people other than me. I may be getting married and returning to work. I would not recommend her with children but she can get along with the rest of us Once She Gets to Know You. It takes caution and experience. I would hope she goes to an experienced adult who has a nice outdoor space to go out to. If you have more time with her than I will you may be able to accustom her to more people. The kennel did at Black Woof if you need another opinion. They said "she is an angel" She loves her master.

Story
You can describe Shorty as a playful weirdo. He loves to play with toys, chase birds, play with little dogs, he loves belly rubs, sitting on your lap and staring in your eyes. He is so smart, emotionally intelligent and a spectacular trick learner. He was rescued as a puppy and has lived in a home with other dogs his entire life, however recently he hasn’t been getting along with the other male in the house. He gets along great with the other female dog. Which is why we think he’d do best in a home with another female dog or as the only dog. He really loves attention and praise and would be a hilarious and loving addition to any home.

Story
Cliff is a very good boy with adorable big ears and cute curly tail who behaves well, is friendly, can sit and shake, loves to play fetch and go on walks. He is estimated between 1-2 years old. He gets along with kitties and loves to play with other dogs. He is a gentle treat taker. He is potty trained and a snuggler on the couch. He is a Velcro dog who follows me (mom) around and looks for approval. He is young and curious about the world as you will see when you walk him on the leash…he just looks around and takes it all in. He doesn’t bark much. He’s not a fan of vacuums but it’s likely louder to him due to his radar ears. He is best suited for a house without young children, which is why we are rehoming him. Otherwise we would love to keep him. We will only consider him for people who will love him like family. He loves a fenced in yard and likes to play with other dogs if you already have friendly dogs in your home. Fee is to make sure he goes to good people. Will include kennel.

Story
If your ideal dog could be described as a "chunky, fluffy fox," Irish is ready to steal your heart! This beautiful girl is 2 years old and weighs 66.8 pounds, though she could use to lose a little. We're excited that her owner surrender included a DNA test, so we know exactly what makes Irish so unique! Her breed mix is primarily Boxer, Husky, and Cattle Dog. Unfortunately, Irish hasn't had quite as much luck as her namesake. She spent the first year of her life surviving as a stray before finally finding a loving home. After about a year together, her owner sadly passed away, leaving Irish once again searching for a place to belong. Irish is the kind of dog who stands out immediately for all the right reasons. If you've always had a soft spot for the quirky, "special" dogs, you'll understand her charm. She loves exploring, enjoys adventures, and is tolerable and occasionally excited meeting new people, but she isn't a fan of strangers reaching over her head for pets. Give her a little time to get to know you, though, and you'll quickly earn the prestigious title of "Booty-Scratchin' Specialist." Irish comes spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations and preventatives, and includes a free follow-up training session with your choice of our two partnered trainers. She won't be the perfect match for everyone, but to the right person, Irish will be absolutely everything. If you're ready to give this sweet girl all the luck she deserves, submit an application today and let us introduce you to Irish.
