LACEY is a 3-year-old female Boxer mix who weighs 55 lbs. She recently come into our program, and she's an instant favorite! She is unique in so many ways. She has the appearance of a Boxer, yet her coat indicates something else. It is velvety soft and plush. She is heavily speckled all over, like a Spaniel. Most of all, she has a personality that grabs you right away. She is that charming! She smiles and will readily give hugs and kisses! LACEY is a Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program Graduate! She is crate, leash and house-trained. She knows "sit," "stay," "down," and "come." So far, her social skills are good. She's met many inmates, in addition to her own, and she's got a wag and a hug for any of them. Lacey would prefer to be the only pet in the home but could be okay with a submissive male dog with proper introductions. Her overall energy level is moderate, and, in our world, that's a huge plus! Her perfect home? A fenced yard with an active family. ROMEO is a 2 year old male, boxer mix. He adopted out as a puppy and was returned when his energy level was underestimated. ROMEO just loves life and everything in it! He is super excited to meet people. And if you look close, he's got a cute, little underbite. We put him through our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program to help "manage" his enthusiasm a little. He can perform all basic obedience tasks if you allow a bit of wiggle and waggle in between. He gets along great with other dogs. He will do best in an adult home with older children. He's not that big at 45 lbs but he might overpower smaller children. He would greatly benefit from a fenced yard. There is nothing like a game of fetch to burn off the energy. OSCAR is a 7 year old male boxer/hound mix. He currently weighs 52 lbs. Like so many others this year, he was found wandering alone. A kind person took him in to keep him safe. They fostered him for 6 weeks before handing him off to Adopt Me! This gave us valuable information on Oscar. He co-existed nicely with two other dogs and their children. He was left free in the house and never destroyed anything. He came housetrained. All this adds up to - he was someone's pet before being dumped. In order to find out every little quirk, we enrolled OSCAR in our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program. Like the other dogs in the program, he thoroughly enjoys the one on one attention he gets from his inmate. He is learning his obedience quickly. As for his social skills, he's doing well there too. For his age, he still has plenty of pep. He has a beautiful brindle coat and a bit of graying around his muzzle. Just enough to make him look distinguished. He is not fond of cats and and with proper introductions, and the right canine companion, he'd do okay with other dogs. Oscar's best fit will be in a quiet, adult home. He must have a fenced yard as Oscar has a tendency to chase if he sees movement. Older children would be fine. If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Sweet Pea is a 5 year old female currently weighing 45 pounds. She is still a bit underweight, but in much better shape than when she came to us. Sweet Pea appears to have had a rough time so far, but we are hopeful that the right person will come along and make the rest of her life the best of her life. Sweet Pea warms up to strangers quickly and holds no ill feelings for anything in her past. She is up to date on all vaccines and will be spayed, micro chipped, given a rabies shot and heart worm test upon adoption. Her adoption fee is $200. Transportation assistance is available

I brought Gunner four months before my first child was born. I wanted them to grow up together. We wanted a dog a little bigger than our maltipoo we had. It turned out he was much bigger and strong as an ox. He is a good dog with a lot of energy. We both work a lot of hours and now have a second child which he is six months old. We don't have the time to give him the attention he needs, we barely have time for ourselves at this point now with two kids. I do have pet insurance on him through Banfield which I've had since I first got him. I would like to see him with a family who can give him all the attention he needs or with someone who has a lot of free time. I have to know you will love and take care of him as we have. I don't want to give him up but I also don't want to hold on to him for selfish reasons. I want him to be able to a more active life and free to run around. He is a beautiful XL bully, there's no aggression in him that I've ever seen.
