You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- REBEL IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR AN INDIVIDUAL ASKING TO REHOME THEIR PET. PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Rebel is a very laid back girl who is unfortunately losing her home because her family is being told to move.  She is very overweight and would love to go to a home where she can get some exercise and weight management to return back to a healthy weight. She is good with children and other dogs, but we don't know how she is with cats. Her dog friend, Chloe, is also listed on our website and is looking for a home. Rebel is microchipped and spayed and will need to be brought up to date on rabies vaccination. If you are interested in adopting, or possibly even temporarily fostering, Rebel, please fill out an application at www.reachoutrescue.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 16, 2026, 8:28 pm

Story
Meet LincolnLincoln wasn`t supposed to be here this long.He originally came to the shelter as a temporary housing case, with the hope that he would soon be reunited with the life he knew. Unfortunately, circumstances changed, and now Lincoln finds himself searching for a new beginning. While we don`t know much about his past, what we do know is that Lincoln has a heart full of love and is ready to share it with someone special. He greets new people with enthusiasm, enjoys making friends, and is always happy to soak up attention from anyone willing to give it.Lincoln appears to be housebroken and is looking for a family that can help him continue learning the basics. He would benefit from structure, consistency, and a confident handler who can guide him as he settles into his new home. Like many dogs experiencing big life changes, he`s still learning what his future looks like. The good news is that Lincoln recently participated in a dog meet-and-greet and did very well. He displayed appropriate social skills, remained friendly throughout the interaction, and showed that he has the potential to do well with another canine companion with proper introductions. His compatibility with cats and children is currently unknown, but what isn`t unknown is his desire to connect with people and be part of a family again.Lincoln didn`t ask for his world to change, but he`s doing his best to face each day with a wagging tail and an open heart. Now all he needs is someone willing to give him the second chance he deserves.Could that someone be you?64 lbs.If you are interested in meeting Lincoln, please visit the shelter during open adoption hours:Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 10 AM–12:30 PM & 2 PM–4 PMThursday: 10 AM–12:30 PM & 2 PM–6:30 PMSaturday: 9 AM–1 PMIf you do not own your home, please bring written consent from the property owner allowing a dog on the property. Six of his siblings have found furever homes, but he and his brother, Muttley, are still searching. He is a resilient and brave dog, having had a scar on his back and an umbilical hernia as a pup, which have both been corrected and proven no further complications. Scrappy loves to run, play, and explore, and would be a good companion for hiking trips and other outdoor activities. He is very food motivated (and prefers to eat alone) and could use some obedience/leash training paired with regular play time and exercise. He enjoys making friends with humans and dogs alike and would make a wonderful dog for an active family. Could he be the one for you?   For more information, contact the phone number above or to apply, our adoption application link is: https://forms.office.com/r/qpqJJH6CD2 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 17, 2026, 6:34 pm

Story
If you’re looking for a dog who brings joy everywhere he goes, look no further. This 3‑year‑old charmer is house‑trained, respectful in the home, and loves his toys like they’re treasures. His favorite thing in the world is people—he lights up when he has company. He’s still polishing his leash skills, but he’s a smart boy who’s already making progress. Since he’s strong and sometimes jumps when excited, he’d be happiest in a home without small children. He hasn’t shown much interest in other dogs—he’s the type who minds his own business on walks and doesn’t react to neighbor dogs—so he may do well with slow, thoughtful introductions. He’s playful, affectionate, and ready for someone who will enjoy his big heart and fun personality.

Story
Meet Odie — your goofy, lovable shadow in the making 🧡🐾 Odie is a little over a year old and still very much a BIG puppy at heart! Think of Odie — sweet, a little clumsy, full of love, and always ready for attention. That’s our boy. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and absolutely thrives on human connection. Odie LOVES being around his people—whether that’s soaking up pets, tagging along on walks, or just quietly watching the world go by at the park (one of his favorite hobbies 🐶👀). Odie is still learning his manners and will need gentle reminders not to jump when he gets excited. He does best on a harness (he’s a bit of an escape artist with collars!) and is continuing to build confidence with leash walking. At his core, Odie is a sensitive, shy soul. New things can feel a little scary—sometimes even his own shadow! He’ll need a patient, understanding home that will help him grow at his own pace. Thunderstorms are especially tough for him, and he’ll look to you for comfort—usually tucked safely behind you or curled into his bed.

Story
Meet Lil’ Dude, a sweet young dog with an adorable smile and an even sweeter personality. His foster family lovingly calls him Iggy, short for `Igor,` and describe him as “big giant baby” because of how much he enjoys cuddling and being close to his people. What makes Lil’ Dude smile the most is affection—especially snuggling with his foster mom—and, of course, cheese, which is one of his absolute favorite treats! He is also learning quickly from his foster dog sibling and has mastered several basic cues including sit, come, and bedtime, with “stay” still a work in progress. Lil’ Dude is about 95% potty trained and can comfortably stay home for 5–6 hours without accidents. If needed, he knows how to use a pee pad, showing how far he’s come with his training. His foster family says he would thrive with someone patient and consistent who can continue helping him build on his manners. He would also be thrilled to have a fenced-in yard where he can run, jump, and explore to his heart’s content. While he may be open to meeting a canine companion, he would need a proper introduction to see if they’re a good match. Lil’ Dude is ready to bring love, cuddles, and plenty of personality to a forever home.Check out a video of Lil Dude here: https://youtu.be/zJKJxe1YA0sInterested in adopting Lil Dude? He is in a foster home so things need to be done a little differently. We recommend submitting a general online adoption application and then calling the shelter to let them know you are interested in meeting Lil Dude!. Please note: all applications are considered general until the animal has been met. If you have any questions, please contact animalcenter@bmorehumane.org or 410-833-8848 Ext/Opt 2.
