Gus is a 5-year-old, 80 lb Boxer/Lab/Mastiff mix who has been part of our family since he was 5 weeks old. He is a goofy, loving, loyal boy with a BIG personality. He’s incredibly affectionate with his people, loves attention, car rides, playing fetch, being outside, and chewing on bones. He’s also very chatty and will whine and moan when he wants something—it’s one of his most adorable traits! Gus is crate and leash trained and knows several commands. He has been trained with an electric fence and has also done well with a traditional fenced yard, although he may dig if he wants to chase something. We want to be completely honest: Gus has serious aggression toward other animals and has attacked our cats and other dog. Because of this, he needs to be the ONLY pet and would do best in a home without young children. He needs an experienced owner who understands his needs and can provide structure and lots of love. Rehoming Gus is heartbreaking but we want to find him a place to thrive 🩵

We are looking to rehome our sweet boy. He’s a Boxer/Pit mix, full of love and personality. He does great with kids and gets along well with dogs that are his size or larger. He’s loyal, affectionate, and loves being around people. He is 5 years old.However, he cannot be around cats or smaller animals. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard, no small pets, and someone who can give him the attention and love he deserves.This is a tough decision, and we’re only doing it to make sure he goes to the right environment where he can truly be happy and safe.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! This beautiful Boxer is the ultimate combination of a goofy, loving family companion and a dedicated personal guardian.
