You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- SCRAPPY IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.  Valley View Animal Rescue email: amybennettwashburn@hotmail.com Phone: (540) 862-1756 Scrappy is one of eight puppies we obtained care of on 8/22/25. Six of his siblings have found furever homes, but he and his brother, Muttley, are still searching. He is a resilient and brave dog, having had a scar on his back and an umbilical hernia as a pup, which have both been corrected and proven no further complications. Scrappy loves to run, play, and explore, and would be a good companion for hiking trips and other outdoor activities. He is very food motivated (and prefers to eat alone) and could use some obedience/leash training paired with regular play time and exercise. He enjoys making friends with humans and dogs alike and would make a wonderful dog for an active family. Could he be the one for you?   For more information, contact the phone number above or to apply, our adoption application link is: https://forms.office.com/r/qpqJJH6CD2 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 14, 2026, 1:38 pm

Story
Meet Odie — your goofy, lovable shadow in the making 🧡🐾 Odie is a little over a year old and still very much a BIG puppy at heart! Think of Odie — sweet, a little clumsy, full of love, and always ready for attention. That’s our boy. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and absolutely thrives on human connection. Odie LOVES being around his people—whether that’s soaking up pets, tagging along on walks, or just quietly watching the world go by at the park (one of his favorite hobbies 🐶👀). Odie is still learning his manners and will need gentle reminders not to jump when he gets excited. He does best on a harness (he’s a bit of an escape artist with collars!) and is continuing to build confidence with leash walking. At his core, Odie is a sensitive, shy soul. New things can feel a little scary—sometimes even his own shadow! He’ll need a patient, understanding home that will help him grow at his own pace. Thunderstorms are especially tough for him, and he’ll look to you for comfort—usually tucked safely behind you or curled into his bed.

Story
If you’re looking for a dog who brings joy everywhere he goes, look no further. This 3‑year‑old charmer is house‑trained, respectful in the home, and loves his toys like they’re treasures. His favorite thing in the world is people—he lights up when he has company. He’s still polishing his leash skills, but he’s a smart boy who’s already making progress. Since he’s strong and sometimes jumps when excited, he’d be happiest in a home without small children. He hasn’t shown much interest in other dogs—he’s the type who minds his own business on walks and doesn’t react to neighbor dogs—so he may do well with slow, thoughtful introductions. He’s playful, affectionate, and ready for someone who will enjoy his big heart and fun personality.

Story
Meet Lil’ Dude, a sweet young dog with an adorable smile and an even sweeter personality. His foster family lovingly calls him Iggy, short for `Igor,` and describe him as “big giant baby” because of how much he enjoys cuddling and being close to his people. What makes Lil’ Dude smile the most is affection—especially snuggling with his foster mom—and, of course, cheese, which is one of his absolute favorite treats! He is also learning quickly from his foster dog sibling and has mastered several basic cues including sit, come, and bedtime, with “stay” still a work in progress. Lil’ Dude is about 95% potty trained and can comfortably stay home for 5–6 hours without accidents. If needed, he knows how to use a pee pad, showing how far he’s come with his training. His foster family says he would thrive with someone patient and consistent who can continue helping him build on his manners. He would also be thrilled to have a fenced-in yard where he can run, jump, and explore to his heart’s content. While he may be open to meeting a canine companion, he would need a proper introduction to see if they’re a good match. Lil’ Dude is ready to bring love, cuddles, and plenty of personality to a forever home.Check out a video of Lil Dude here: https://youtu.be/zJKJxe1YA0sInterested in adopting Lil Dude? He is in a foster home so things need to be done a little differently. We recommend submitting a general online adoption application and then calling the shelter to let them know you are interested in meeting Lil Dude!. Please note: all applications are considered general until the animal has been met. If you have any questions, please contact animalcenter@bmorehumane.org or 410-833-8848 Ext/Opt 2.

Story
Meet Benny, the Boxer mix! This sweet girl is about 2 years old and an 65lbs ball of love. Since coming into her foster home, she has been such a lovebug. She is pretty low energy, and wants nothing more than to gaze into your eyes and receive cuddles. Seriously, she loves looking deep into her humans' eyes. Her fosters thought she would sprain her tail because she wags it so hard every time she looks at them. Benny's previous life was clearly hard but family life makes her so happy. She would do well in a home where she is not alone for more than 6 hours at a time because she is happiest with her people. Benny loves the two young boys in her foster home, has enjoyed countless visits from other kids over the age of 7, and is always gentle as can be, despite her large size. She basks in attention from people of any age, strangers included. She spends her time trying to get her entire giant body on your lap as soon as you sit down, and jumping up to give you a full body hug. She is very mellow. Ever content with running around the yard, roughhousing with her dog brothers, having bones to chew, and 1-2 walks a day. She is very strong, and this is only apparent when she is on leash. She goes after squirrels and bunnies and needs a strong handler to walk her. She has not yet been introduced to a cat, but she is exceedingly gently with her family, even the geckos, so she might do well with slow introductions. Ask to meet Benny today!

Story
🐾 Juice – 1.5‑Year‑Old Bully Mix With a Heart of Gold Juice is a 1½‑year‑old bully mix who embodies everything people love about this breed: sweetness, loyalty, and a deep desire to bond with his person. He’s a gentle, affectionate boy who has never shown any aggression toward people and greets everyone with soft eyes and a hopeful tail wag. Like many young bully mixes, Juice has plenty of energy and enthusiasm, especially on leash, but he’s already improving with guidance and consistency. Once he’s had a chance to move his body, he settles beautifully — his favorite thing is stretching out in the backyard sunshine and relaxing like the chill companion he truly is. Because he’s still learning manners and can be a bit bouncy, Juice would do best in a home with no small children (due to energy and enthusiasm) but would do fine with older, dog savvy kids who understand his playful energy. He hasn’t had full play sessions with other dogs yet, but he has walked calmly past them and sniffed through a fence without any issues, showing potential for slow, thoughtful introductions. Juice is the kind of dog who just wants someone to love him. He’s sweet, eager to please, and ready to thrive with a person who can give him structure, patience, and plenty of affection. If you’re looking for a young bully mix with a gentle heart and tons of potential, Juice is waiting to meet you.
