Story
Odin is a 7 year old purebred boxer from a local breeder. We are looking for a home with no other dogs/cats - Odin does not get along with other dogs. Odin gets very excited when meeting new people, as most boxers do! But when he gets to know you he is very loving and cuddly! We have a toddler that he is very good with, but we do keep separated sometimes just because toddlers are very unpredictable and we don’t want Odin feeling uncomfortable. Odin would do very well in a house with older children. Odin also loves to play fetch with his balls and of course loves to go for walks! Odin is taking daily anxiety medication (Fluoxetine) which helps tremendously with his jumpiness. Odin has also been to formal training and does well with basic commands and on a leash

Story
Meet Blitz! Blitz is a 6-year-old, 55 pound working dog. He's smart, food driven, and loves playing fetch. He sleeps through the night in his crate, is house trained, loves learning new tricks, and can be good with other dogs if they allow him to calmly greet them. Blitz would do best in an adult only home, with an owner who is active. He loves going on walks, runs, hikes and car rides. He can be wary of new people, and will need someone to continue to train him on confidence building. Blitz will walk in a heel when requested, he is a quick learner, super food motivated, and will LOVE his owners immensely. Update from foster Mom: With his people, he is the BEST dog, and he's good with dogs if they aren't pushy. He's a quick learner, a cuddle bug, and house-trained. He LOVES hiking with me in the woods, has an amazing recall, and loves playing fetch. I believe he would be the best dog on a farm, where he isn't forced to interact with strangers. I strongly believe that when he is off leash, he will choose to avoid strangers as opposed to confronting them. So why has this amazing already trained pup been with us so long? He doesn't do too well with strangers. We've gotten people interested, but seemingly they seem to ignore his "wary of new people" bit in his bio, and those who have applied want a friendly dog who is ok with meeting everyone. Are you someone who will allow Blitz to become comfortable with strangers slowly? Maybe an active outdoorsy introvert? Or okay with leaving your pup at home while you go out to be extroverted? Blitz is AMAZING. He just needs someone who understands he isn't too fond of people until he feels safe with them. This means not allowing others to approach him on walks and when out and about. No trips to Home Depot or TJ Maxx for this guy. He only needs outings with his new parents! P.S. This means he will take time to warm up to you too! If you are interested in finding out more about Blitz, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO-A-67 Blitz is being fostered in Grafton. The adoption fee is $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
**Kipper's adoption fee has been generously sponsored** Meet Kipper 💛 At 12 years young, this handsome senior is the perfect mix of calm and silly. His foster describes him as easygoing, adaptable, and happiest just being with you. He’s gentle, affectionate, and loves people and new friends - whether that means joining you on a walk, curling up for a couch snuggle, or keeping you company while you work. Kipper is housetrained, crate trained, and knows all the basics (sit, down, paw, place, off, rollover)—and he’s still learning! Whoever said old dogs can’t learn new tricks has clearly never met this boy. He travels well in the car and is always up for a daily woods walk, a neighborhood stroll, or a burst of zoomies in the yard. Stuffed toys are his favorite, and he’ll happily toss them around before settling in at your side. At night, Kipper is easygoing - he sleeps soundly through the night in his bed. Kipper is looking for a cat-free home, but he has enjoyed the company of other dogs and may do well with a well-matched sibling—or happily as a solo pet. He’s enjoyed walking with doggy pals in the past. Could Kipper be the senior sidekick you’ve been searching for? **Kipper's adoption fee has been generously sponsored**

Story
Lou is a loving, mellow, and deeply cuddly dog who has been a comforting, almost therapeutic presence for his family, but now needs a new home where he can continue to thrive. He’s happiest curled up napping on the couch, doesn’t require much exercise, and is fully crate trained, making him an easy companion for a calm household. Lou does best with a fenced-in yard where he can safely enjoy the outdoors, as he does not do well with other dogs and will show aggression toward them. Because of this, he needs to be the only animal in the home—but as the sole furry family member, he will love his people with fierce devotion and is wonderful with humans of all ages.

Story
Naomi has been living large in her foster home while going through heartworm treatment. Now that she has completed her treatment and tested negative, she is ready to find her new home! Here's what her fosters have to say: "Naomi is a very laidback Boxer-mix who is content with a window with a view and a walk. She is very affectionate (loves being petted) and is even tempered with people and dogs. She is great on a leash, house broken, knows all the typical commands and is a very quick learner. She's a great companion that likes to nap next to you but is ready to go at any moment for a car ride or walk around the neighborhood and would be a great addition to anyone's family." Naomi would be okay living with a dog savvy cat, but she would prefer to be the only dog in her household. If you are interested in Naomi, give us a call at 603-472-3647 and press 1 for adoptions.
