Story
Adopted from SPCA in 2022 as a newborn puppy. Ben is sweet, smart and playful couch potato. DNA test showed primarily Chihuahua, but boy was that wrong! He grew from 5 lbs to 55lbs quickly! He was a wonderful puppy with a little anxiety. He learned quickly to play with other dogs and enjoyed time with our kids, but remained skeptical of others. Ben trained well and proved to be very smart and playful with the whole household. We moved from the suburbs to the city and Ben’s anxiety in the new location is showing up regularly. He is protective of us and reactive to others until he can greet under control. With two very active young kids in a new neighborhood, we have too much going on to allow him to get the attention he needs to calm down in this urban environment. Would love to find him a home in a calmer environment so that Ben can thrive again.

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: Yes, dog savvy catsGood with kids: Older children only (13+)Crate trained: YesHouse trained: YesZaria is an affectionate, and loyal girl with a real zest for life. She is a medium energy dog who enjoys a play session, followed by a nap. She benefits from slow introductions to other dogs. She would also be fine as an only dog. Zaria happily entertains herself with toys or a romp in the backyard. She has lived with cats and has for the most part ignored their presence. Zaria loves her people and enjoys making new human friends. She can be an enthusiastic greeter and sometimes forgets her size, so older dog-savvy children would be best for her. Zaria enjoys going for walks around the neighborhood and looks to her humans for reassurance and guidance in new situations. Zaria is an intelligent girl and very eager to please. She knows a plethora of commands, and loves to learn new things every day. She is fully house trained and crate trained. Zaria enjoys relaxing in her crate throughout the day and sleeps soundly in it overnight. She is looking for an experienced and patient adopter who will continue to provide her with structure and routine so she can continue to be her best self. Are you the lucky family who gets to add Zaria to your bunch? Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. This medium-energy pup has bursts of playful energy mixed with plenty of couch snuggle time. Hotch would do well in an active home ready to provide him with walks, playtime, and lots of love as he continues settling into the comforts of indoor life.Hotch is very sociable and gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all ages and sizes. He quickly fell into a fun playtime routine with his foster siblings and would do well with or without a canine companion. Story
Duke is a 6 year old loving and sweet boy. He will lay on top of you and watch tv or run around changing a ball. I rescued Duke from a shelter and when they found him he had an imbedded collar so he still has a scar on his neck. Because of this he ain’t great on leash and would do best with a family with a fenced yard. He defiantly has the boxer energy and is very excited when meeting new people and when someone gets home.
