Story
Duke is a 3 year old mixed breed. We had his DNA done. He is 49% boxer, 48% Great Pyrenees. The remaining 3% was Weimaraner, Anatolian shepherd. We adopted him when he was 10 months old. He is fantastic. Good with other dogs. He does chase cats so that’s a no. He is house trained and has never had an accident in our home. He is 60 pounds and would probably do best with children 10 and up because of his size. He is fantastic on leash. Does not pull or go after other dogs etc. he is afraid of fireworks so he takes trazadone on July 4th. The only reason we are looking for a new home is we are dealing with a family member’s acute illness. He enjoys walks and goes to dog daycare once a week and loves that!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I’m Flash! ✨ I’m a smart boy who loves hard. I graduated from Basic Obedience  training, and I even have the certificate to prove it. Not to brag, but I was basically the smartest  dog in my class. I know how to sit, lay down, go to my place, walk on a leash… All of it! My  foster parents also say I’m an A+ cuddler. While they didn’t check my DNA, if you hear me  howl, you’ll swear I have hound in me. I also have a really strong sniffer and have a blast going  out in the woods and finding new things to smell, like stumps and puddles and holes in the  ground! One thing I’ve learned is I can be cautious of new people. My boundaries are very  important to me. I have to make sure I can trust you before I’m comfortable. Going in public can be a bit overwhelming for me, and it kind of amps me up. I would be fine to stay at home in my crate though. I’m a very good boy who will wait patiently for you to get home. I am great in  a car, so we can go for rides or trips to get ice cream whenever you want! I would do best in a home with someone experienced in dog training. That way they can keep me practicing my  skills and learning new things. I am eager to make my new owner very happy. I’m full of so  much love and happiness, we really don’t need too many visitors to interrupt our fun. Only our closest friends and family. I understand that children are smaller and more delicate. I really just want to play and not hold back though, so a home without children would be great. I know I’m  an extra special boy who is looking for an extra special home. In order to find the perfect family  for me, Buffalo CARES is willing to widen the search. Live outside Western New York but think you could be my forever? My fosters would travel anywhere! Maybe somewhere with lots of space and smells for me to sniff, like the mountains or by the ocean. If I sound like the perfect  addition to your family, Apply to meet me today at Buffalocares.org! I can’t wait to wag my tail for you! ❤️ Hugs and kisses, Flash   Adoption fee : $425 but for the right adopter my aoption fee is waived RR48    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All dogs come fully up to date on shots, microchipped, heart worm tested, de-wormed, on flea and heart worm preventative, and spayed/neutered.  If interested in learning more or adopting please fill out an application on our website at www.buffalocares.org. 🐾 Meet Magnolia “Maggie” — Your Perfect Adventure & Couch Companion! 🐾Maggie is a stunning 3–4-year-old black and white pit mix with a soulful gaze and a heart full of love. We believe this sweet girl was used for breeding and then sadly discarded—but you’d never know it from her gentle, loving nature.Maggie is truly the best of both worlds. She enjoys getting out and about—whether it’s going for walks, exploring, or joining you on adventures—but she’s just as happy curling up on the couch for snuggles and downtime. She’s affectionate, loyal, and forms strong bonds with her people. She does well with most dogs, especially those with a calmer demeanor, but overly energetic dogs can be a bit much for her. Maggie would do best in a home without cats. After everything she’s been through, Maggie deserves a forever home where she’ll be cherished, included, and loved for the amazing dog she is.If you’re looking for a loyal companion who can be your adventure buddy by day and cuddle partner by night, Maggie may be your perfect match.📍 Located in Texas – can be transported once adopted. Story
I found him abandoned roughly a year ago (September 2025) , and took him in without even thinking about it really. And he’s been so xxxx@xxxx.x you first meet him he’s a little wary but as long as you approach him slowly (not too fast) he’ll let you pet him and hug him when you first meet him. He’s definitely not good with other dogs as of yet , when we walk if he sees another dog that’s calm then he stays calm as well. Only when another dog is barking at him or way too close does he start to get a bit amped. Other than that he’s amazing. He’ll stop whatever he’s doing and sit if you just say the word “treat”. In fact a few months ago when I walked him the leash broke about 5 houses down , he took off. He was so far but I just screamed “Buddy you want a treat?” And he came sprinting back to me went right past me and ran up to the house and waited for me. He’s great.I simply can’t afford to give him the home he deserves.
