Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Toby is still looking for a home.  He was found as a stray in April, the owners (located via his chip), couldn’t take him back.  The vet says he’s a Sharpei mix, and estimated to be between 2-4 yrs old.  I have completely vetted him and he is now fully healed from his neuter. His vet care to this point has exceeded $300-but he is in great health and ready for a forever, loving home.  I am keeping him on flea, tick and hw prevention while in my care. Toby is: house trained, takes treats gently, has leash manners, wants to be with someone, loves lap time, enjoys being outside. Toby would love a home without small children (he gets jumpy excited) and someone able to walk him.  A fenced yard isn’t required, but would be nice.  Not sure about shared walls housing since he has a deep bark. We currently keep him separated from my dogs since they are not always nice to others.  We have taken Toby to a park to see his reaction in public. He ignores adults, nub wags at children, but gets jumpy excited when dogs walked by.  When on walks, he shows interest in squirrels, rabbits but is brought back on track with a stern “No”.  When in the fenced yard, he plays and self entertains, and checks to see you’re still there once in awhile. A meet and greet is required and I am asking for a $300 rehoming fee.  He will keep his new bed, new collar and of course his toys to help with his adjustment into a new home.  Please keep in mind dogs may take a few weeks to get settled in a new home.  We could tell Toby had been through a lot and took him about 2 weeks to feel comfortable.  He is now on a “schedule” and responds to “go for a walk”, “ready breakfast”, “ready for supper”, and “ready for bed?”.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 12, 2026, 11:50 am

Story
Here is the revised version under 1,000 characters:Bluey was adopted from Forsyth Humane Society and is a sweet, housebroken, almost 10-month-old female pit bull/boxer mix. She is partially trained, very personable, affectionate, and loves being around her people. This is a very hard decision because we love her and are a good home, but due to increased job requirements for the primary owner and her son being in college, we presently lack the time and consistency Bluey deserves. Bluey is primarily an inside dog, so leaving her outside is not an option, and we do not want her spending extended time locked in her kennel while we are away. She appears to have some separation anxiety and would do best with a patient, experienced owner who can provide training, exercise, companionship, and structure. We are interested in behavior resources and rehoming assistance before surrender, if possible, because we want what is best for Bluey and want her to have the good home she deserves.

Kind neighbors took him in when he kept returning to their house to eat and be cared for, when he was no longer wanted after a family's son went to college. He has been mostly an outdoor dog, but will come inside when invited and treats involved...Would make a nice family pet...He needs a forever family to love him. ❤️ Fenced yard required; VET'S REFERENCE REQUIRED.June 16, 2026, 1:14 pm

Story
Meet Billie Jean… aka Chill Bill. Chill Bill is a 4 year old, 63 lb boxer mix who has quickly earned a reputation for being one of the sweetest, easiest dogs to hang out with. He’s affectionate from the start and mostly just wants pets, attention, and someone to lean against. He loves meeting new people and was very social and relaxed while spending time in the adoption room. Chill Bill is treat motivated, knows sit, down, shake and seems like he may already be housetrained. He’s easy to leash and handle, and overall has a very easygoing personality. Around other dogs, he’s shown friendly behavior through the fence with loose tail wags and relaxed body language. Honestly, “Chill Bill” fits him perfectly. He’s cuddly, social, and seems happiest just being close to people. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. To meet/adopt, visit us in Greensboro, NC from 12-4pm any day except Tuesdays; no appointment needed.
