Story
Jojo is being fostered in Illinois. Has some vision.Hi. My name is Jojo. I am a 4-year-old boxer mix. I like to think of myself as a playful happy-go-lucky gal. I may not see you well because close objects are like shadows and a little blurry to me, but I know you are there. I get along well with all the cats and dogs in my foster home. I like cats (see https://youtu.be/t_3b0r0n9LY ). But I may need slow introductions with little feisty dogs. But I would love to go to a home that has many friendly 4-legged buddies.I like to be active and meet people and other dogs (see https://youtu.be/9LG4Cy9_kJI ). However, I am not too good with children because a lot of time kids either approach me too fast or gather around me, which makes me so scared that I have to give a warning snap. But I do love my walks. Even more, I love an open field that I can have all to myself so I can let out a lot of my energy (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nWkm8OssZU ). At home, I like to relax and sit at my spot while my foster daddy is doing his work. Everyday, I get to be petted and it makes me feel loved (see https://youtu.be/Y_-7FDicj-M ).I am housebroken. However, every once in a while, I have accidents because anxiety gets the best of me when I realize my foster dad has not been home for a while. I will do well in a home where someone is present 90-95 percent of time, perhaps with someone who works out of home or is an active retired person.Blind Dog Rescue has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Rose is a combination peaceful, serene with her people and playful young girl especially chasing her Kong Rubber Ball. Soulful eyes just beg you to let me be yours. Chills out after play and takes life easy. She enjoys all kinds of throw toys and is very good about releasing them. Really fun dog with a gentle spirit and loving attitude. A great combination of relatively compact size, super joyful spirit, focused affection and companion, and fun ! Adoption Process Guardianship Application available for download at http://tinyurl.com/MAPSFiles The Adoption process is designed to help best place dogs with homes that are in the best interest of the dogs and their human companions. The adoption process starts with a prescreen review of an Guardian Application. Making decisions about dog placement in adoptive homes is an "art", not a "science", and there will be times when applications will be denied for various reason(s). This is left to the discretion of the MAPS after reviewing relevant information. MAPS reserves the right to make all decisions regarding placement or final disposition of any rescued dog in its care into a foster or adoptive home. There is no guarantee that any applicant(s) requesting to adopt a dog being fostered through MAPS, or posted on MAP's web site, will be granted an adoption. After a successful prescreen, including background checks, the applicant(s) are notified that they can visit the dogs and a time slot is made for the dog and applicant interaction. After the interaction we encourage several days of reflection before adopting a pet to help assure this will be a lifetime commitment of love and quality care for the dog. Next we conduct a home/neighborhood visit to the Guardian Applicant's home. If the home visit proves successful the new mom and/or dad of the dog will sign an Adoption Agreement and share a lifetime of love !

Story
Meet Spirit Spirit may be a puppy with a disability, but don’t tell her that—she has no idea! This happy, affectionate girl is full of love and joy. Her favorite things include snuggling on a soft bed or curling up right in your lap for a nap after a good play session. Spirit is paralyzed in her back end due to a stable spinal fracture that cannot be surgically repaired. She cannot use her back legs and has no control over stool or urine, but her elimination is reflexive and does not require intervention as long as amounts remain normal. Despite this, Spirit doesn’t let her condition slow her down one bit—she’s just as playful and silly as any other pup. She’s very social and loves meeting new people, especially kids. Spirit gets along well with other dogs and is curious about cats—though her playful energy and eagerness to chase may be a bit much for some feline friends. Like most puppies, Spirit is learning the ropes of the world. She’s working on playing fetch, enjoys sunny days outdoors, and thinks wagon rides are the best way to go on walks. She’s even dipped her paws into swimming at the lake! True to puppy form, she does like to explore the world with her mouth, so she’ll need continued guidance as she grows. At night, Spirit settles nicely in her crate and sleeps soundly when things are quiet. She’s the perfect mix of playful and cuddly—always ready for fun, but happiest snuggled up next to her people. If you’re looking for a sweet, resilient puppy who will bring sunshine, silliness, and snuggles into your life, Spirit just might be your match! All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. Story
Fiona is one of the most resilient dogs we've ever met. She came to us from MADACC after being found as a stray in life-threateining condition. She was skin and bones, has sores all over, and needed an emergency blood transfusion due to her anemia. Thankfully, after weeks of medical care and a strict feeding program, Fiona proved just how resilient and special she is. Fiona enjoys spending time with her people, whether that's joining you for a walk, relaxing in the yard, or curling up nearby after a busy day. She has a sweet and loyal nature and is looking for a family that will cherish her as much as she'll cherish them. One of Fiona's best qualities is her ability to make herself right at home with the people she loves. She enjoys attention, companionship, and being included in the daily activities of her family. With her gentle spirit and affectionate personality, she has all the makings of an incredible best friend. Fiona is ready to leave shelter life behind and find the forever home she's been waiting for. If you're looking for a devoted companion to share your days, your couch, and your heart, Fiona may be the perfect match. Come meet Fiona and discover just how much love one dog can bring into your life! All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. Story
Meet Colby! Colby has come a long way on her journey to finding a family of her own. After being rescued from a neglect situation where she spent much of her life tied outside and being used for breeding, this sweet girl has finally discovered what it means to be loved—and now she's ready for her forever home. Despite everything she's been through, Colby is an incredibly affectionate and loyal companion. She loves spending time with her people and is happiest curled up next to you on the couch or snuggled up wherever you are. Whether you're relaxing at home or heading out for an adventure, Colby is happy to be by your side. She especially loves car rides and never turns down an opportunity to tag along. Colby is fully potty trained and does well with a routine. She's accustomed to spending time in her own space while her family is away and settles in nicely. When she's not soaking up attention, you'll likely find her sunbathing, lounging with her canine friends, or rolling around in the dirt—one of her favorite hobbies! Colby does best with calm, confident dogs who respect her boundaries. She enjoys canine companionship but can become overwhelmed by young, energetic dogs that don't understand personal space. She's also known to "talk" or let out a cute little howl when she thinks she's missing out on attention—she just wants to be included! This loving girl has spent her life putting others first, including raising her puppies. Now it's Colby's turn to be someone's baby. She deserves a home where she can continue building trust, receive plenty of love, and enjoy all the comforts she missed out on for so many years. All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough.
