Story
Rose is a combination peaceful, serene with her people and playful young girl especially chasing her Kong Rubber Ball. Soulful eyes just beg you to let me be yours. Chills out after play and takes life easy. She enjoys all kinds of throw toys and is very good about releasing them. Really fun dog with a gentle spirit and loving attitude. A great combination of relatively compact size, super joyful spirit, focused affection and companion, and fun ! Adoption Process Guardianship Application available for download at http://tinyurl.com/MAPSFiles The Adoption process is designed to help best place dogs with homes that are in the best interest of the dogs and their human companions. The adoption process starts with a prescreen review of an Guardian Application. Making decisions about dog placement in adoptive homes is an "art", not a "science", and there will be times when applications will be denied for various reason(s). This is left to the discretion of the MAPS after reviewing relevant information. MAPS reserves the right to make all decisions regarding placement or final disposition of any rescued dog in its care into a foster or adoptive home. There is no guarantee that any applicant(s) requesting to adopt a dog being fostered through MAPS, or posted on MAP's web site, will be granted an adoption. After a successful prescreen, including background checks, the applicant(s) are notified that they can visit the dogs and a time slot is made for the dog and applicant interaction. After the interaction we encourage several days of reflection before adopting a pet to help assure this will be a lifetime commitment of love and quality care for the dog. Next we conduct a home/neighborhood visit to the Guardian Applicant's home. If the home visit proves successful the new mom and/or dad of the dog will sign an Adoption Agreement and share a lifetime of love !

Story
This beautiful girl is Gracie! Gracie is around 3 years old (or soon to be) and is about 30lbs. She was caught off the streets of TX with her dad, Dexter (DNA test confirmed!). Gracie arrived super scared, just like her sister Indie that we pulled off the streets a year before (again, DNA confirmed!). Gracie has been opening up and learning what it is like to be loved now that she is in a foster home. Dexter is looking for a home too, but they do not need to be adopted together. She is showing us her playful side and she is starting to really enjoy playing with toys! She likes to strut around with her toys showing them off. Her energy is the lower side of medium. As she continues to warm up, she may be medium energy. She really loves her naps!! She likes to cuddle up by pressing herself up against you! She has been doing amazing on walks and walks well on leash! She is being fostered with other dogs of all sizes and does well with them. She seems to get a lot of confidence from her dad, Dexter, in her foster home so we think she would do best in a home with another dog to continue learning from. She is scared of young kids (flees from them), but has done well with non-boisterous kids 10+ years old. She has met a dog-savvy cat and did great! Gracie will need a patient owner who can continue to help her learn to trust and blossom. She would do best in a home that does not have lots of visitors. In her foster home when it is just people she knows well and the other dogs, she is starting to become a "normal" dog. She is not crate trained, but she does well left in her room. Come meet Gracie and fall in love with her sweet, loving eyes and velvety fur! Her love is pure and earning her love is a beautiful blessing! Gracie's sister is adopted by a behavior consultant who is happy to continue helping Gracie's adoptive family thrive!

Story
Gentleman alert!!! Seriously, have you seen this dapper boy’s face?? When you meet him, you’ll just melt! Dexter is about 55lbs and low to medium energy and very gentle. We are not sure on his age, but we think 5-7 years. He is 100% AMAZING! Dexter is your perfect combination of sweet, gentle, and playful. He loves a nice walk and adores snuggling. He has been getting along great with the other dogs of various sizes in his foster home. His foster pup siblings have been teaching him how to play, how to have the zoomies, and how to chew on and play with toys. He has been doing well with his crate training when he gets a special treat for going in and prefers to have cartoons playing when left alone. :) Dexter has puppy dog eyes that will pierce your soul in the best ways. Even in the shelter, he had wiggle butts galore when someone would come up to him. Now that he is in a foster home, he has learned the wonders of cuddling on couches and sleeping in beds and he is LOVING it! He is a smart boy and has been learning routines quickly. He is so gentle with everyone. In his forever home, he would be happy either having dog siblings or to be an only pup. Lots of barking dogs tend to make him timid. He has met a dog-savvy cat and did great! While he has been good with kids 10 years and up, young kiddos can be a bit overwhelming for this calm and gentle boy (he will remove himself from the room). You can see a video of him on his PetFinder: https://www.petfinder.com/dog/dexter-e5287308-29bf-487b-abe5-0796d4d183ba/wi/oregon/desert-willow-ranch-and-rescue-tx2832/details/
