Story
Meet Pumpernickel, a one-of-a-kind mix of brains, bounce, and snuggles wrapped up in a petite and impressive Bull Terrier x German Shepherd package. She’s an energetic, silly girl who greets life with enthusiasm and is looking for an active family ready to keep up with her adventurous spirit. Pumpernickel loves being on the move! Long walks, sniffing adventures, flirt pole games, tug sessions, and puzzle toys are all high on her list of favorite activities. She’s incredibly smart and learns quickly, especially when treats or games are involved! She’ll thrive in a home that enjoys training, enrichment, and keeping life engaging. With her sharp nose and love of problem-solving, she’d be a total star in activities like nose work. Whether she’s tossing her toys into the air to chase them herself or making a surprise appearance in a video meeting, she keeps her people laughing every day. After she’s burned off her energy, Pumpernickel’s snuggly side shines! When she’s tired, she turns into a total cuddlebug who just wants to curl up close and soak in affection. She loves her people deeply and is happiest when she’s included in daily life, whether that’s heading out for walks, exploring new places, or relaxing together on the couch. Pumpernickel enjoys other dogs and especially loves rough and tumble play with confident canine friends. She isn’t shy about sharing her excitement when she spots a potential new buddy, so her adopter should be ready to continue helping her practice polite greetings and manage her enthusiasm. She is also a big fan of meeting new people and has built quite the fan club on her neighborhood walks thanks to her expressive personality and joyful energy. Pumpernickel is estimated to have been born in December 2024 and weighs just under 40 lbs. This bright, active girl would do best with an experienced adopter who can give her plenty of exercise, structure, and opportunities to learn. A home with a yard and an active lifestyle would be ideal for helping her thrive. In return, Pumpernickel promises endless entertainment, loyal companionship, and the sweetest post-adventure snuggles you could ask for! Pumpernickel’s adoption fee is $450. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Per our rescue policy, unless specifically noted in a dog's bio, we will not consider adoption applications from families with children under 5 years old.  Fill out an adoption application for Pumpernickel at: https://www.forgottendogsrescue.com/adoption-application ##2579234##

Story
Meet Petunia, the 3 year old Bull Terrier/Cane Corso mix whose infectious happiness lights up every room. This spirited canine is looking for her forever home and is overjoyed to be surrounded by her loving foster family. Petunia's perpetual joy is most evident when she sees her family, her tail wagging with boundless enthusiasm. One remarkable aspect of Petunia's story is her remarkable compatibility with other dogs. She effortlessly forges friendships with fellow canines, creating a harmonious atmosphere wherever she goes. Not just limited to her furry companions, Petunia is a natural around children of all ages, displaying a gentle and playful demeanor that makes her an ideal family pet. Despite a challenging start in life, Petunia's indomitable spirit shines through. Discovered in a field as a stray, she bore the scars of past hardships - two dislocated hips and a shattered left back ankle. Remarkably, these injuries had already healed, and Petunia now navigates her world with grace. Although surgery is deemed too risky, her resilience allows her to walk and even run, proving that love and care can overcome adversity. Beyond her physical strength, Petunia is a model of good behavior. House trained and affectionate, she revels in pets, cuddles, and the pure bliss of tummy rubs. Petunia's journey from a field to a loving home is a testament to her resilience, and she serves as an inspiration to all who cross her path. She is house trained, microchipped, fully vaccinated, & spayed. She is being fostered in Seguin, TX and is ready for her new home. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Welcome Honey to CCPAL foster Program. Honey is a 3 year old Boxer mixed dog. She is potty trained. We think Honey survived the flood in Kerrville. A good samaritan has taken her in and is giving her good nutrition and love until we find her forever home. She was really scratched up and had a wound on her front left leg. She will be spayed soon and she is going to the vet again for a follow up on her leg. Our guess is it may have gotten broken and healed back on it’s own due to what she has gone through. She is good on a leash, very loving and bonds deeply. She lives with 5 cats right now but she is much too interested and we feel her best home would be without cats. She loves all people and no one is a stranger. She is good with dogs her size and is an energetic girl. Her best home would be with an active and ourdoorsy family that wants a great companion to join them in their outdoor fun. She is looking wonderful and filling out nicely in her new foster home. She lost some muscle around her bum area due to the length of time she was without food. Despite this, she would make an amazing family pet. She would love to be the only dog and be the center of her families attention. She weighs about 40 pounds and is a taller dog but medium weight. She is great in a car and would make a great dog in settings where lots of people are around. She is lower in shedding. She will be getting spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Meet Mumu! A lovable, squishy-faced English Bulldog with a big personality, a tender heart, and a whole lot of charm packed into her 3-year-old body. Mumu is looking for a forever home where she can truly be a dog — enjoying companionship, structure, and the comfort of having her people nearby. She thrives when she has company during the day and does best with routine, consistency, and gentle guidance. She’s crate trained and genuinely loves her crate, often choosing it as her favorite place to relax and feel secure. This sweet girl has a playful side and enjoys engaging with her people, though her activity is currently more limited due to healing needs. She’s happiest when she’s included, supervised, and given appropriate outlets to stay mentally enriched without overdoing it physically. Mumu is seeking an experienced adopter, ideally someone familiar with bulldogs or dogs with ongoing medical needs. Her care routine is very manageable for the right person and will feel familiar to those with breed experience. Mumu does have several long-term medical considerations that require commitment and hands-on care. She will need daily and monthly medications, including monthly injections (which she handles like a champ), ongoing management of skin allergies, arthritis pain relief, and careful monitoring to prevent jumping or strain. She also has an upcoming TPLO surgery on her other leg, and we would love for her to recover in a home environment if possible. Down the road, her hips may require surgery as well. Estimated monthly care costs for food and medications are around $275. Her skin care routine includes wiping her feet after outdoor time and keeping her wrinkles clean and dry to prevent dermatitis — small tasks that make a big difference in her comfort and quality of life. Mumu would do best as the only dog in the home and has not been cat tested. A calm, attentive environment with someone who can be present during the day and committed to her physical limitations is essential. Bulldog experience is strongly preferred. Mumu may come with extra responsibility, but she gives back tenfold in affection, loyalty, and that unmistakable bulldog charm. She’s looking for someone who sees beyond her medical needs and is ready to love her fully — wrinkles, routines, and all. Mumu is spayed, crate trained, and available for adoption.

Story
Meet Rose! Rose is a cute little Boxer mix pup (we think). She is around 4 months old and weighs around 13 lbs. She will likely grow to a medium size.  Rose is playful and curious, and very smart. She loves humans, and is quick to trust new people. She can be easily startled, but recovers very quickly. She loves curling up against a human or on top of her smaller sister, Tulip, but will also move away a little to find her own space after some time. She has tried many times to befriend the cat, without much success, and she would love to play with the resident dog but he has informed her he would prefer a supervisory role so she quickly moved on.  Rose really does not like to be left alone, seeking comfort from humans or other dogs, and she would LOVE to have another canine companion in the home.  Rose has received her first puppy vaccinations and is microchipped. She will be spayed at our cost around 8 months of age. Her adoption fee is $525   We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
