Story
Found as a stray after being struck by a car, this sweet 8.5-year-old lost one eye to a blood clot, but it hasn’t slowed him down. He’s affectionate, loyal, and a little clumsy thanks to reduced depth perception. He’s no equally happy on a hike or snuggled on the couch. He gets along with cats, kids, and small dogs. He is leash reactive toward other dogs and strangers, so he does best with an experienced owner who understands reactivity. Off leash in a secure space, he’s comfortable and able to open up. No health issues, no medications, not a picky eater. He just needs the right home to thrive!

Story
Welcome Honey to CCPAL foster Program. Honey is a 3 year old Boxer mixed dog. She is potty trained. We think Honey survived the flood in Kerrville. A good samaritan has taken her in and is giving her good nutrition and love until we find her forever home. She was really scratched up and had a wound on her front left leg. She will be spayed soon and she is going to the vet again for a follow up on her leg. Our guess is it may have gotten broken and healed back on it’s own due to what she has gone through. She is good on a leash, very loving and bonds deeply. She lives with 5 cats right now but she is much too interested and we feel her best home would be without cats. She loves all people and no one is a stranger. She is good with dogs her size and is an energetic girl. Her best home would be with an active and ourdoorsy family that wants a great companion to join them in their outdoor fun. She is looking wonderful and filling out nicely in her new foster home. She lost some muscle around her bum area due to the length of time she was without food. Despite this, she would make an amazing family pet. She would love to be the only dog and be the center of her families attention. She weighs about 40 pounds and is a taller dog but medium weight. She is great in a car and would make a great dog in settings where lots of people are around. She is lower in shedding. She will be getting spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Meet Rocky! Are you looking for a companion who is as clever as he is cute? Meet Rocky! At 5 months old and 17 pounds, Rocky is a handsome young guy with a heart of gold and a very sharp mind. He's a little underweight but is happy to put on some pounds as he's very treat-motivated!  Rocky is a true "thinker." He’s incredibly smart and loves to stay busy—he figures out even the most difficult puzzle games in record time! He’s always looking for a way to use his brain, making him a joy to train. But don't let his "professor" personality fool you; he’s a playful puppy who loves his toys. Most importantly, he’s a total gentleman in the house—he knows exactly which things are his and doesn't chew on anything that isn't a toy. When he’s finished solving puzzles and playing, Rocky’s favorite place to be is right by your side. He is a huge fan of humans and will actively look for your attention and snuggles. He’s also a star student when it comes to manners—he’s almost potty trained and likely would be if his foster parent were paying closer attention! If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, and affectionate boy to join your family, Rocky is ready to meet you. Rocky is up to date on vaccinations and is microchipped. He will be neutered at 8 months of age at our cost. His adoption fee is $525 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Meet Frankie! This gorgeous boy is a 4 month old pup. He is around 10 lbs and will grow to a medium size.  Frankie arrived with his two siblings and is in a foster home in Seattle. He is a very sweet boy. Frankie is pretty special.  He is a bit more timid than his sisters, possibly because he is the only puppy in his foster home. With another dog in the home he will likely come out of his shell much more.  He is more comfortable exploring the backyard and being on grass and is learning to walk on a leash.  His part boxer personality is starting to shine and he realizes how fun squeaky toys are.  Wherever you're sitting he has to be right next to you.  He is great with kids although a little shy around new adults.   Frankie has had his first puppy vaccinations, is microchipped and dewormed. He will be neutered around 8 months of age, at our cost. His adoption fee is $525 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! Meet Adrienne! Looking for a puppy who is as smart as she is sweet? Meet Adrienne! At just 5 months old and a dainty 13 pounds, Adrienne is a joy to her foster parent. She is underweight, but we're working on it. Luckily, she is very treat-motivated. Adrienne is highly intelligent and picks up on new routines quickly—she can play fetch and sit on command! She's working on potty training, but is better at it when her foster parent is paying attention!  She loves to play with toys and mini tennis balls - which she chases all around the house. She loves playing with her brother. She shares toys and treats.  When the playtime is over, Adrienne’s favorite place to be is right next to you. She is a world-class snuggler who thrives on affection and will happily curl up in your lap for a long nap. She is great with kids - tested with ages 7 and 11.  If you’re looking for a loyal, clever, and loving girl who will be a great friend, Adrian is the one for you! She is up to date on vaccinations and is microchipped. She will be spayed at our cost around 8 months of age. Story
WOOF! I'M RILEY! I'm a 3-year-old Boxer-Shepherd mix in need of a foster or forever home. I was recently rescued from a California shelter where I was pretty terrified - I sat in the back and looked at people as they walked by. But now I'm coming out of my shell. I have done great with other dogs so far and am quickly adjusting to be a happy boy. I weigh about 50-55 lbs. Can you foster or adopt me? Please email for an application.

Story
Cocoa is an 11-month-old pup with the gentlest, most loving soul. She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and people-oriented, and she truly just wants to be close to her humans. Whether she’s cuddling on the couch, following you around the house, or greeting you with happy tail wags, Cocoa makes every day brighter. Cocoa and her sister Cypress were brought to a high-kill shelter in Houston, where they were at risk simply for being unwanted. Thankfully, both girls were rescued and are now safe and thriving in a foster home in Amarillo. They can be adopted together or separately — both would do wonderfully in a loving forever home. Cocoa has a wonderful temperament and an easygoing, friendly nature that makes her a joy to have around. She gets along well with other dogs and would be a perfect fit for a family or an individual looking for a loyal best friend. She is smart, eager to please, and already showing what a well-mannered and devoted companion she will become. Cocoa is 45 lb, fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative and kept on proheart — she is healthy, vetted, and ready to go home. Cocoa truly is a dream puppy — full of love, sweetness, and charm — and she is ready to find a forever family where she can be cherished for life. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving, and devoted companion, Cocoa is your girl. 🤍🐶 Her adoption fee of $350 includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality Harness and Interstate Health Certificate for our out of state adopters. She is being fostered in Amarillo, Texas, but can travel to many states and even Canada for the right home. Yards, if any, MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. To meet this sweet pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application form via www.savesomesouls.com Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. We need the parents to be patient and compassionate towards the changes that these pups are undergoing, being taken away from a home they came to know as their own to a new environment. 3-3-3 Rule of Adoption must be followed at all times to make adoption successful. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued from our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank You for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Story
**Currently fostered in Houston Texas but is available for out of state adoption via rescue transportation. Virtual meet and greet offered prior to adoption commitment** Kyra is a happy go lucky pup who found herself abandoned on the streets. She was emaciated, had poor skin and just full of worms. Thankfully an amazing woman found her and took her in. She got her clean, well fed, and fully vetted. Now, Kyra is ready to start the next chapter in her adventure! Kyra is just over 2 years old, and is a total hambone of a dog. We believe she is some kind of pitbull, retriever, hound mix. Basically what we call, a Texas Street Special! Whatever her breed, she is all adventure pup and very eager for life. Kyra loves people, I don't think she could ever meet a stranger. She's extremely loving, and enjoys cuddles on the couch, giving kisses, and looking cute for treats! We think she would even do wonderfully with children. Kyra has done wonderful with other dogs as well. She is fantastic at her doggie daycare, does well at dog parks, and loves to play. She doesn't mind the cats, She does chase them at times when she just wants to play. Kyra is not an aggressive dog, but she can lack the meaning of personal space and some of the cats we've introduced her to have not taken kindly to that. We think she could do well in just about any home, however, she would prefer to have regular play mates that can keep up with her be it siblings or play mates from friends, neighbors or daycare environment. She just wants to enjoy life with someone! Kyra does very well with training, mostly due to the fact that she's so smart. She learns quickly, and at times, can be TOO smart. Like how she knows how to push the door open if it's not latched properly. She knows her basics such as sit, kennel, stay. Her only need for training is working on her impulse control. She is fully crate trained, and is doing fantastic with her leash training. She is housebroken, but being such a big pup still, we suggest using a kennel until fully acclimated. Though she quite enjoys cuddling in the bed or couch. Kyra is fully vetted, meaning she is current on all vaccinations and preventions. She is spayed as well as microchipped too. For more information on how to adopt Kyra, contact us at MokasMission@Gmail.com.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Bikini came to us from a small rural shelter where her chances of getting out were very slim. She is a 2 yr old pit/catahoula mix and don’t let her breeds fool you. She’s a total couch potato! She has her moments of zoomies but they don’t last long. While she does live in a foster home with other dogs of all sizes, she is the queen bee and can be a little bossy so she is looking for a home with no other dogs. She loves all people she meets and she is potty trained and crate trained. She has good doggie manners but needs some work on her leash training. She is a puller on the leash but we’ve seen a lot of improvement with the ez walk harness. Bikini is located in Texas. Her adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport and includes current shots, microchip, heartworm test and spay. If you are interested in adopting Bikini complete the adoption application at the link below. If you have any questions email us at sgdrsa@outlook.com https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SGDR/Dog
