Many of you may remember "Fat Boy"—the beloved companion of a man experiencing homelessness in our community. When we first met this handsome guy, he was in desperate need of help. He suffered from a severe injury to his front left leg and could only drag it as he walked. When we shared his story, thousands of people rallied behind him and his human, urging us to help. And help we did. Countless hours, multiple veterinary visits, rehabilitation, surgeries, love, and care later... Fat Boy became Clyde. Today, Clyde is healthy, happy, and embracing every moment of the good life. Unfortunately, despite every effort, we have been unable to reunite him with his former owner. MEET THOR Meet Thor, our gentle giant with an even bigger heart. Thor is a handsome 4-4.5-year-old Cane Corso mix weighing in at 105 pounds. While his size may be impressive, his personality is truly sweet, happy, and affectionate. Thor knows his basic commands, including sit, shake, and down. He loves attention and enjoys playing fetch, splashing in the kiddie pool, and going for walks. He does pull a bit at the start of walks, so he will need a confident and strong handler who can help guide him as he settles in. Thor is a playful boy who enjoys rough-and-rowdy play, making him a great match for an active family or adopter who can keep up with his fun-loving personality. Because of his size and play style, he would do best in a home with children ages 12 and older. Thor is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and appears to be potty trained. He likes small dogs and has done well with them, though a meet and greet is still required to ensure a good fit. His behavior with cats is currently unknown. Blanche is a fast, spunky, and affectionate dog with a big personality who loves being close to her people, whether that means following you around the house, playing fetch, or curling up for a long nap. She is leash trained, crate trained, potty trained, and completed a four-week board-and-train program focused on basic obedience. Blanche is playful and goofy, enjoying running, zoomies, neighborhood walks, and stuffed toys, but she can also be skittish and sensitive to loud noises and having her personal space invaded. She wants to please and often shows this by keeping her eyes on her person at all times. Blanche must be fed separately due to a long-standing history of food aggression, does not get along with cats, and is unsure with other dogs, though she previously lived well with a large dog and may acclimate with proper introductions. She does not do well with young children and has shown reactive behaviors when overwhelmed, so she requires a child-free, adult-only home with someone experienced in training and managing dogs who need clear boundaries.
