Story
Luna is the rescues longest resident. As a young puppy Luna was sent to a board n train where harsh methods were used and her trust in humans was completely destroyed. She was flown down to us from a shelter in San Jose in the hopes we could work with her and get her to the point of being able to safely be adopted out. Luna has definitely been a labor of love but she is ready for a home of her own now. She has perfect house manners and is completely house broken. She walks beautifully on a leash and participates in our pack walks where she solicits love and attention from everyone. On the homefront she can be protective but she is a corso, and this is to be expected. She’s been fostered with both dogs and cats and with proper introductions would easily be able to live with other pets. She’s never had an altercation with any animal. She really needs a home with someone who understands the breed and loves cuddling with their pup as she’s a huge cuddler.

Story
How this pet arrived: Star was brought in by a community member. Why Star might be the one for you: This big beautiful black and white dog needs time, space and love. She also needs more training using positive reinforcement techniques (which we can show you), confidence that she is doing what you want her to do because she wants to please her people (we can help you with that) and consistent routines. If you have a big space for her to guard, she will be happy. If she has a lot of toys around, don't be surprised if she rounds them all up into one pile. She may do the same with your socks too. To her rounding things up is a job and she wants to work. Star will be affectionate with her family and protective of them. Not so much with strangers. She is whip smart, If you show her what you want her to do, she'll catch on quickly. She will thrive when she is helping you do something. Are you looking for a smart, protector dog for your place and family? She will be happiest when she has work to do and gets lots of "good Star" accolades for doing it. If you'd like to learn more about this worker bee dog, come visit us at the San Diego Campus today! At SDHS: Star has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. Star is now ready for their new home! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 81.5

Story
Rene was wandering around the block for several weeks, until he was given the opportunity to enter the home of one of the rescuers. He has been a very protective, loving dog, and from the first moment he was always grateful. He has gained weight and is ready for his new home. He loves to get close to the fence to be petted by neighbors. He is good with cats, although because of his size we do not leave him unsupervised when he is with them, and he lives with most females. He doesn't like to have another male around, he is the alpha and everyone knows it, but with people, he is the biggest baby of them all. He loves treats, lots of love and affection, going for walks and playing with balls and rubber toys. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation to North of San Diego
