Story
How this pet arrived: Remi was brought in by her previous owner on January 24, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Are you looking for a best friend who thinks you are the absolute center of the universe? Meet Remi! This sweet girl is a professional "people person" who has never met a human she didn't want to charm. She is incredibly affiliative, which is just a fancy way of saying she's a world-class snuggler and your future #1 fan. Remi has a very important request for her future home: she wants to be your one and only! While she loves humans with all her heart, she's not exactly looking for a canine roommate. She's looking for a home where she can be the sole recipient of all the treats, belly rubs, and attention. Because she's not a fan of other pups, she's trading in the dog park and doggie daycare life for private adventures and backyard fun. She'd do best in a neighborhood with low dog traffic so she can keep her cool and stay focused on her favorite thing - you! Remi is a smarty-pants who needs more than just a quick walk around the block. She's looking for a family that can keep her busy with ample physical and mental enrichment. Think puzzle toys, scent work, or learning cool new tricks! She thrives on positive reinforcement training (did someone say treats?) and is ready to show off how quickly she can learn. Ready to make Remi the center of your world? Come meet her today! At SDHS:Remi has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home! Primary Color: Brindle Secondary Color: White Weight: 78.4 Age: 5yrs 9mths 2wks

Story
Apollo is a beautiful purebred Cane Corso. He will need a strong owner who has experience with mastiffs, pit bulls or bulldogs. Apollo would do best in an active home with good fencing. He loves to run and play but dog parks are a no no. Typical of this breed, he does not do well with other male dogs. Apollo likes to play hard so supervision with female dogs is needed at the start. He is also loving and sweet and would love to curl up on the couch with you! Very good on a leash as well.

Story
How this pet arrived:This pet was brought in by their previous owner on January 22, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you: Meet Mozart, a friendly, energetic dog who thrives on quality time with his humans, adventure and lots of cuddles. Ideal for an active owner, Mozart loves long walks on a leash and enjoys having all the attention to himself, making him best suited for a home without other pets. After burning off some energy, Mozart quietly settles in for a nap or solo playtime with a toy or enrichment items. His zest for life and sweet personality make every day a new opportunity for fun and bonding. Mozart loves to be the star of the show and soak up all the love and attention, so he is requesting to be the only dog in his new home. Mozart has also been found to have two fractured teeth and may require treatment after adoption, so we recommend following up with your veterinarian to keep him happy and healthy. Adopting Mozart means gaining a cuddle bug of a companion ready to fill your days with joy and activity. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for adoption! Primary Color: Brindle Secondary Color: White Weight: 82 Age: 7yrs 2mths 0wks

How this pet arrived:.Calcifer was brought in by a community member on September 25, 2025. Why Calcifer might be the one for you:Meet Calcifer, an energetic yet calm pup in search of a loving new home! Calcifer enjoys walks, playtime, belly rubs, chasing birds (that he never catches) and sunbathing. Staff have fallen in love with this big, goofy guy - he is a sucker for attention and wants to be with his humans. Ones he gets some energy out with a good play session (stuffed toys are his favorite) he's happy to settle in for a nap. Calcifer did come into our care with fearful behaviors, and he will do best in a quiet low/traffic home. He likely struggle with new spaces and people, so slow introductions to new things are going to set him up for success! Any children in his new home must be older than 14 years old as well, due to his initial fearful behavior. If you're looking for a gentle giant to bring joy to your life, Calcifer could be the one for you! Come speak to an adoption counselor to learn more about him today.
