Story
🐾 Looking for a Loving Home for Mbaku 🐾 Mbaku is a great dog with a BIG personality and an even bigger love for his people. He’s active, playful, affectionate and loves attention, fetch and toss. He is housebroken and crate trained and knows sit, down, drop it, take it (his command to eat) and inside (go to his crate). Mbaku has always had another dog by his side, but we recently had to say goodbye to his longtime buddy. He’s been a little sad without his friend, and our family is adjusting to the loss too. With our two older sons leaving for college and the military, our home and schedules are changing, and we know Mbaku won’t get the time and attention he deserves. This is a difficult decision, and we’re not looking to simply give him away. We want to find the right home—someone who will love him, play with him and make him part of their family. If you think Mbaku could be a great fit for your home, please message me privately. ❤️🐾 Crate and food included.

Story
MEET SAPPHIRE- currently in a foster home!Meet this sweet 2-year-old girl who weighs 101 pounds and is still full of that fun, puppy-like energy. She came to us as a stray, so we are still learning about her past and what life was like before she arrived at the shelter. What we do know is that she is a playful, social girl who truly enjoys spending time with people. She loves attention, enjoys playing with toys, and has a silly, youthful personality that makes her a lot of fun to be around. She may be a big girl, but she still has plenty of puppy left in her.She appears to be housebroken, although like any dog entering a new home, she will need time to adjust to a new routine and environment.Since she came in as a stray, we do not yet know how she does with other dogs, cats, or children. Those are things her future family will need to introduce carefully as they get to know her.She is looking for someone who will give her the time, patience, love, and guidance she deserves. Behind that kennel door is a big, goofy, playful girl who just wants the opportunity to become someone’s best friend. She has so much life and personality to give, and we hope the right person will take a chance on her and show her what it means to finally have a place to call home. Please email hsccfosterteam@gmail.com to be put in touch with her foster family!

Story
🐾 MEET SUGAR 🐾Available soon 9 months old • Cane Corso • 80 lbs • Female Sugar is a beautiful 9-month-old Cane Corso who is already about 80 pounds of gentle giant — and she’s looking for the right person to continue showing her what life with a family is supposed to be like. Sugar was kept by her breeder, but unfortunately she was largely left to run on her own. She came to us with no formal training, no vaccinations, no spay, and very little socialization with people. So right now, Sugar is learning a whole new world — and she is learning FAST. ❤️ Because she wasn't properly socialized, Sugar can be unsure when meeting someone new. She may give a small growl at first while she figures you out; and because she isn't the type of dog who instantly trusts everyone — her trust needs to be earned. But once you earn it, you get to see the Sugar we're getting to know. Despite everything she missed during her first nine months, Sugar has shown us just how gentle she can be. She has not chased, growled at, or snapped at any of the dogs in the home, and she hasn't attempted to chase the cat. She is curious, learning boundaries and becoming more comfortable every day. She is mostly housebroken, although we say that lightly because she isn't being given free range of the house yet. She will occasionally pee in her kennel, but she has not had any bowel-movement accidents in her kennel. Sugar already has some important things on her calendar: ❤️ Spay appointment — September 4th - now spayed! 🐾 Following recovery, Sugar will be assessed by Mason Dixon Canine for boarding/training so we can better understand her needs and give her the foundation she never received as a puppy. Sugar is a large, powerful breed with limited early socialization, so we want to be transparent about where she is right now. She isn't a finished dog. She's a young dog who was never given the opportunity to learn — and now she finally is. What we've seen so far gives us a lot of hope. Underneath that big Cane Corso exterior is a sweet, cautious girl who wants a person she can trust. Once Sugar decides you're one of her people, she's right there with you. ❤️ Sugar didn't get the best beginning, but we're determined to make sure the rest of her story is different. Please share Sugar and help us find the person who might be part of her next chapter. 🐾❤️ Being fostered in Hanover, PA You can apply now to get pre-approved. https://forms.gle/LDjduj2zTk7vvmHU7 Pa LIC #17216

Story
Miracle is playful, curious, and easily excitable. Calm, consistent handling and care are recommended. Because she is a guard dog, she may be alert or protective around unfamiliar people, visitors, children, or other animals in her own space. Miracle does well with other dogs and human interaction in public spaces. At night, Miracle may stay awake until you settle down. Once settled, she will generally settle and lie down as well. I am looking for a loving home for my sweet girl. I am unable to keep her due to landlord restrictions.

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Diesel Coal is of cane corso/lab/pit mix, is 5yo, weighs 77lbs, is neutered, is microchipped, but is not up to date on his vaccines.  Diesel Coal's guardian adds:  "He is such a loving boy who wants only love and to be able to trust in someone who won't hurt him.  He is alone at home 10-12 hours/day, is crated during the day and night, dislikes/fears the vacuum and other dogs, and is active but great during car rides.  I try healthy foods such as Pure Balance at Wal-Mart."   Diesel Coal's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him:  His guardian recently experienced an abrupt and unexpected housing situation and the premises in which she currently safely/securely lives doesn't offer enough space for his comfort. Diesel Coal's guardian states the following regarding children:  Diesel Coal lives with children (starting at age 6 and up and are currently 13 and 11yo), so his guardian recommends his living with children, stating "Loves to be petted by kids and play games of chase with a ball, not much of a fetcher". Diesel Coal's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Diesel Coal hasn't lived with dogs, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with dogs, stating "He will sometimes whine and growl". Diesel Coal's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Although Diesel Coal lives with a cat, his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats, stating "He likes our cat, but she doesn't like him..lol..he boops her with his nose, paws her to play or chases her".  Diesel Coal's guardian describes him as: Very active Playful Affectionate Independent Protective House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Diesel Coal's guardian describes his ideal future home:  "Diesel Coal would best go to a family who will love him unconditionally be patient and able to train him better.  Maybe a couple or older kids as he still is a big guy and can knock over small kiddos."
