You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Roman! ❤️ Roman | 3 years old | 115 lbs | Cane Corso Meet Roman, a big handsome boy with an even bigger heart! ❤️ Born in December 2022, Roman is a 115-pound Cane Corso who absolutely LOVES his people. Roman is definitely an attached-at-the-hip kind of dog. If his people are around, he wants to be right there with them. He loves being included and is happiest when he can hang out with his favorite humans. He knows his sit and shake, and he is an absolute rockstar in the car. Roman can be a little shy when meeting new people and needs some time to warm up. Give him about 30 minutes, though, and you may find this giant boy trying to climb right into your lap! ❤️ Once he knows you, he is incredibly affectionate and loves being close. He is still working on a few things, too. Roman isn't a huge fan of the crate yet, but he's learning to accept it and making progress. He hasn't shown much interest in toys so far, and the hose is definitely on his “no thank you” list. Roman is looking for someone who will give him the time and patience he needs to feel comfortable, while appreciating all the love and loyalty he has to give. If you're looking for a big, goofy, affectionate shadow who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Roman might be your guy. Roman is available for adoption! Story
Meet Izzy!If you`re looking for a sweet, playful, people-loving girl with a whole lot of personality, allow us to introduce you to Miss Izzy!Izzy originally came to us as a stray, and while we don`t know much about her life before arriving at FMAR, we`ve certainly enjoyed getting to know the wonderful girl she is today!Izzy is an incredibly friendly, affectionate, and social dog who absolutely LOVES spending time with people. Whether she`s heading out for a walk, enjoying some one-on-one attention, or simply hanging out with her favorite humans, she`s just happy to be included. She`s got a fun, playful personality and plenty of love to share with whoever is lucky enough to call her family. And if you`re looking for a way to win this girl`s heart? Treats are definitely a good place to start!Izzy is wonderfully treat motivated and takes treats SO gently. She`s already familiar with the command `sit` and is happy to show off her manners, especially when there`s a tasty reward involved. She`s a great candidate for continued positive reinforcement training, and we think she`d have a blast building a relationship with her future family through learning new things together. What about other dogs?During her time at the shelter, Izzy has shown us some promising behavior around other dogs. When passing calm dogs, she generally remains calm herself and doesn`t seem particularly bothered by their presence. However, if another dog becomes reactive or overly excited, Izzy may eventually mirror that energy. This doesn`t necessarily mean she can`t enjoy the company of other dogs! It simply means that thoughtful introductions, appropriate spacing, and continued guidance will be important. We think she may even be a great candidate for group walks with other dogs, and we`re excited to continue learning more about her social preferences.More than anything, Izzy seems like the kind of dog who just wants to be part of the action. She`s sweet, playful, affectionate, and has so much potential to become a wonderful companion for someone willing to give her the love, attention, and continued guidance she deserves.Izzy may have arrived at FMAR without a family to call her own, but we`re hoping her next chapter is filled with everything a girl like her could ask for: adventures, companionship, plenty of treats, and humans who love her just as much as she`ll love them.If you`re ready for a fun-loving sweetheart with a big heart and an even bigger personality, come meet Miss Izzy!Interested in adopting me?I`d love to meet you! To get started, click the blue Dog Adoption Application button at the top of this page to submit your application!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you would like to meet Izzy, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250, which covers part of the medical care she will receive.**Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth. Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

🌸🍀 Meet Magnolia – A Gentle Soul in Bloom 🍀🌸 3 years old | 95 lbs | Calm, loving, and full of quiet beauty Like her namesake flower, Magnolia is soft, graceful, and quietly captivating. She’s a gentle girl with an old soul who finds joy in life’s simple moments. Sniffy walks, warm sunshine, and carrying her favorite stuffies like little treasures. Magnolia is low energy, house trained, and happiest in a peaceful home where she can fully relax, feel safe, and bloom at her own pace. 🌼 Why Magnolia is Pure Gold • Gentle, affectionate, and quiet • Great with respectful dogs and cats • Loves calm kids and kind humans • Excellent in the car and easygoing at home • Enjoys leisurely walks, outdoor exploring, and cozy lounging • Dog selective, but polite and social with the right matches • Thriving with her foster brother Wyatt—she truly blossoms with a canine companion by her side Having another friendly dog helps Magnolia feel more confident, safe, and engaged in her environment. 🌿 Care Note Magnolia has a small, manageable medical need—she may experience minor leaking after her morning potty break. She wears a diaper during that time and handles it like a champ 🌼 She is otherwise comfortable, dry, and doing well, and her care is being thoughtfully monitored by the rescue. 🌷 Her Perfect Home Magnolia would thrive in a patient, peaceful home with: • Another friendly dog • Calm, understanding humans • A cozy environment where she can feel secure and loved She isn’t demanding, just quietly wonderful. Story
Ruby is a six year old American Pitbull Terrier/Cain Corso mix from a hoarding case where she endured physical abuse and many hungry nights. We suspect that Ruby was born and raised in that environment and has never received exposure to the outside world. Due to this, it takes Ruby some time to warm up to you.Once she does, she is an in your pocket type of pup! A wonderful sponsor is willing to cover my adoption cost of $225.00 so I can be adopted and enjoy being someone's best friend! All adopters must be vetted and approved to adopt from FOCCAS.Ruby has a way of making you feel wanted, when she greets you with a wagging nub and sweet face after a long day! She is very quiet and doesn't mind other dogs but would do best with a Male. She likes long walks and is doing well with leash training, and knows sit, down, touch and shake already! She does excellent when her foster mom bathes her and clips her nails, and is very patient. She is sweet and gentle until something scares her, then she jumps. She's good on a leash until something startles her, then she pulls.... And she's strong. She's a beautiful girl. Loving and gentle, loves attention but hates excitement. She's not a guard dog, she'll hide behind you in the threat of great danger, or if a butterfly scares her. Quiet, soft, and sweet Ruby, she wants to be right at your feet. Ruby needs to be an only dog.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. My adoption fee has been donated by an anonymous donor!!! Story
Not every dog is meant to charm you in the first five minutes… and that’s okay. ❤️ Meet Cesar. Cesar isn’t the kind of guy who falls in love on the first date. New people can be overwhelming for him, and he needs a little time and patience before he lets his walls down. But if you’re willing to earn his trust, you’ll discover the sweetest reward—a giant, goofy Cane Corso who thinks he’s a lap dog and will make you laugh every single day. He’s incredibly intelligent and loves to learn, but he’s also got that classic stubborn streak that comes with the breed. Cesar needs an adopter who understands that training doesn’t end after adoption and is committed to continuing the work that’s already been started. He’s potty trained and has come a long way learning to walk on a leash, but he can still be reactive when he’s in his crate, so he’ll do best with someone willing to help him keep building confidence. Cesar is looking for a home with: 🐾 No children 🐾 No cats 🐾 No small dogs 🐾 Someone patient, experienced, and committed to helping him succeed The easy dogs are often adopted first. Dogs like Cesar wait because they ask for something many people don’t have—time. But the people who choose dogs like him will tell you there’s something incredibly special about being the person who helps a dog finally feel safe. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend and are ready to invest in a dog who will invest his whole heart back into you, Cesar is waiting.

Story
Some dogs don’t need to be rescued… they need to be understood. ❤️ Athena is a stunning 1-year-old Cane Corso who has been waiting for someone willing to look beyond those first few moments. She’s not the dog who will run up to every stranger asking for attention, and because of that, she’s often overlooked. The truth is, not every dog wears their heart on their sleeve. Athena needs a little time to get to know you. She needs patience, kindness, and someone committed to continuing her training and helping her build confidence. But once you’ve earned her trust, her personality shines. She’s a goofy, silly girl who loves being outside, happily chewing on her favorite toys, and spending time with the people she loves. She is: 🐾 Crate trained 🐾 Potty trained 🐾 Smart and eager to learn 🐾 Looking for a family committed to continuing her training Athena would do best in a quiet home without children, cats, or small dogs, where she can continue to grow at her own pace. The easiest dogs often find homes first. The dogs who need a little extra understanding, a little more patience, and a little more commitment are the ones who keep waiting. Athena isn’t looking for someone perfect. She’s looking for someone willing to say, “I’ll give you the time you need.” And when that happens, you’ll gain something truly special—a loyal companion who trusts you because you earned it. If you believe the best relationships are built, not rushed, Athena is waiting to meet you. ❤️
