You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Meet Bruno: A Sensitive Giant with a Huge Heart! Bruno is a gorgeous Cane Corso who is just as smart as he is sweet. A true gentle giant, he is an incredibly intelligent, sensitive, and goofy boy who lives for three simple things: delicious food, playful energy, and—most importantly—cuddles (and then maybe some more cuddles). While he is a big boy, he has a tender soul. Bruno doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body, but he can get startled easily and his first instinct is to run and hide when scared. Because of this, he needs a confident, patient handler who can show him the world is a safe place. He is an incredibly fast learner who thrives on positive reinforcement and clear, loving structure. If you are looking for a loyal, affectionate shadow who will make you laugh daily, Bruno is your guy!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. August 25, 2026, 9:16 am

Story
Max is updated on shots, neutered, loved kids, love being petted. He has a smaller dog in the house and plays with her and has never hurt her. However, the smaller dog will whimper and cry, he told to go to place. He’s a gentle giant . The kids has pulled his tail, sat on him back, pulled his legs and he has never hurt them at all. The kids ages are 5 years and 6 years old.. He will bark when he hears something outside and will bark if someone is coming to the house . He has been introduced to strangers and once he smells their hand, he’s fine. He will allow the stranger that he didn’t know to pet him. I selected a place in my house that I call Place and will say to him to go to Place. He will stay for awhile but if I get up and move, he will follow me wherever I go including the bathroom (he tried but I don’t allow him to come in)… He tried playing with my 5 lbs Maltese but she growls at him and shows her little teeth and when he tried playing with her, she whimper and cry

🌸🍀 Meet Magnolia – A Gentle Soul in Bloom 🍀🌸 3 years old | 95 lbs | Calm, loving, and full of quiet beauty Like her namesake flower, Magnolia is soft, graceful, and quietly captivating. She’s a gentle girl with an old soul who finds joy in life’s simple moments. Sniffy walks, warm sunshine, and carrying her favorite stuffies like little treasures. Magnolia is low energy, house trained, and happiest in a peaceful home where she can fully relax, feel safe, and bloom at her own pace. 🌼 Why Magnolia is Pure Gold • Gentle, affectionate, and quiet • Great with respectful dogs and cats • Loves calm kids and kind humans • Excellent in the car and easygoing at home • Enjoys leisurely walks, outdoor exploring, and cozy lounging • Dog selective, but polite and social with the right matches • Thriving with her foster brother Wyatt—she truly blossoms with a canine companion by her side Having another friendly dog helps Magnolia feel more confident, safe, and engaged in her environment. 🌿 Care Note Magnolia has a small, manageable medical need—she may experience minor leaking after her morning potty break. She wears a diaper during that time and handles it like a champ 🌼 She is otherwise comfortable, dry, and doing well, and her care is being thoughtfully monitored by the rescue. 🌷 Her Perfect Home Magnolia would thrive in a patient, peaceful home with: • Another friendly dog • Calm, understanding humans • A cozy environment where she can feel secure and loved She isn’t demanding, just quietly wonderful. Story
Not every dog is meant to charm you in the first five minutes… and that’s okay. ❤️ Meet Cesar. Cesar isn’t the kind of guy who falls in love on the first date. New people can be overwhelming for him, and he needs a little time and patience before he lets his walls down. But if you’re willing to earn his trust, you’ll discover the sweetest reward—a giant, goofy Cane Corso who thinks he’s a lap dog and will make you laugh every single day. He’s incredibly intelligent and loves to learn, but he’s also got that classic stubborn streak that comes with the breed. Cesar needs an adopter who understands that training doesn’t end after adoption and is committed to continuing the work that’s already been started. He’s potty trained and has come a long way learning to walk on a leash, but he can still be reactive when he’s in his crate, so he’ll do best with someone willing to help him keep building confidence. Cesar is looking for a home with: 🐾 No children 🐾 No cats 🐾 No small dogs 🐾 Someone patient, experienced, and committed to helping him succeed The easy dogs are often adopted first. Dogs like Cesar wait because they ask for something many people don’t have—time. But the people who choose dogs like him will tell you there’s something incredibly special about being the person who helps a dog finally feel safe. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend and are ready to invest in a dog who will invest his whole heart back into you, Cesar is waiting.

Story
Some dogs don’t need to be rescued… they need to be understood. ❤️ Athena is a stunning 1-year-old Cane Corso who has been waiting for someone willing to look beyond those first few moments. She’s not the dog who will run up to every stranger asking for attention, and because of that, she’s often overlooked. The truth is, not every dog wears their heart on their sleeve. Athena needs a little time to get to know you. She needs patience, kindness, and someone committed to continuing her training and helping her build confidence. But once you’ve earned her trust, her personality shines. She’s a goofy, silly girl who loves being outside, happily chewing on her favorite toys, and spending time with the people she loves. She is: 🐾 Crate trained 🐾 Potty trained 🐾 Smart and eager to learn 🐾 Looking for a family committed to continuing her training Athena would do best in a quiet home without children, cats, or small dogs, where she can continue to grow at her own pace. The easiest dogs often find homes first. The dogs who need a little extra understanding, a little more patience, and a little more commitment are the ones who keep waiting. Athena isn’t looking for someone perfect. She’s looking for someone willing to say, “I’ll give you the time you need.” And when that happens, you’ll gain something truly special—a loyal companion who trusts you because you earned it. If you believe the best relationships are built, not rushed, Athena is waiting to meet you. ❤️
