Story
I’m trying to find a special home for Bambi, a sweet gray female cat who is around 8–10 years old with some special needs. Bambi’s owner recently developed dementia and is no longer able to care for her. She is one of the sweetest cats you’ll ever meet and loves attention. Sadly, she was shot with a BB pellet at some point in her life, and it remains lodged in her back. Because of that, she has some constipation and urinary issues, that causes her to leak urine. Bambi is up to date on vaccines, including rabies, dewormed and is flea free. She has lived with other cats and dogs. Bambi has been through more than any cat should, but she still has so much love to give. She deserves a quiet, caring home where she can be safe, comfortable, and loved for the rest of her years.

Story
Fern is a very sweet, loving 2 year old female tortoise shell kitty. She has had 2 litters of beautiful kittens and was the best momma kitty I have ever seen. Even nursed babies that were not her own. She is a small framed kitty and is quiet, but will definitely talk to you and respond when you talk to her. She loves to drink from running water. She loves wadded up paper balls thrown to her. She jumps really high and bats them back to you like she's playing volleyball. We have many kitties which are older. Fern is so loving and deserves to have more love and attention than I can give her.

Story
My wife and I found on the street at 6 months old. He was frail, cold and had a terrible infection in one eye. We took him to the vet and unfortunately, his right eye had to be removed. After several months of nursing him back to health, he's now a very active cat who loves to snuggle and play. However we have 2 older lady cats who do not feel the same way about playtime, and they do not get along very well. We believe he would live well with another cat who is also active and playful, but not with older cats who like peace and quiet. He loves to eat, snuggle, run around and be curious. He will be great as a solo cat or a brother to another young, active cat. We love him and want to find him the best home possible!

Story
OK, get ready, because this is a sad story. Teresa came to St. Gertrude Rescue through a citizen who was concerned for her. She had been trying to catch Teresa for over 8 months, but Teresa always ran away. When she was finally caught, it was because she was extremely sick and malnourished. She came to SGR just skin and bones. While in rescue, her recovery has been very slow, she has constant diarrhea and has struggled to put on weight. Although she is feral, she is simply too weak to act on her feral instincts to run and hide from humans. She knows she needs us and we are here for her. While in the love and protection of SGR, Teresa enjoys watching her fish TV, eating good food, drinking clean water, and getting brushed daily. She is also getting the medical care she needs to hopefully return to full health soon. Teresa is about a year old and fully litter box trained. Here’s where things get interesting: Teresa is a Red Siamese, which in itself is unique. BUT, Teresa is also completely deaf! We can’t imagine how she survived in the wild, without being able to hear danger or a predator approaching. Because of this, we gave Teresa a box to snuggle in so she had all three sides of her protected at all times and she can see when others approach. This has made all the difference for her and we immediately saw improvement in her personality.

Story
Andrew was rescued along with his sister, Cleo and brother Felix. The gang couldn’t “look” more different from each other, but they all share the same character trait, they are all super clingy and affectionate. Andrew’s attention technique is different from his siblings. Andrew prefers to sit, just sit, right in front of you or on your knee or on your computer. He makes no noise, doesn’t move, he just sits and stares you down until you love on him. It’s pretty effective Andrew is a classic dark brown/grey tabby

Story
Christopher was born into rescue on Memorial Day. He along with his 7 siblings have enjoyed an idealistic “kitty”hood, being raised by both a wonderful kitten mom and a caring foster human mom. Together, they have taught the kittens to be polite, patient, and playful. Christopher is no exception, he is a goofy, affectionate mamma’s boy with the adorable looks to back it up. Christopher is a classic short-hair white and grey/brown tabby.
