Story
Leo (born October 24, 2024) is one of the sweetest, most affectionate cats you will ever meet. The definition of a cuddle bug who was raised in a home with cats and dogs, and gets along wonderfully with both. Leo absolutely loves playing chase with his feline brothers and wrestling with his canine sister. He sometimes gets so excited during a game of tag that he’ll run headfirst into the wall, and then yell at you like he thinks you put the wall there to spite him. He has the softest fur and a charmingly curious personality. Leo is fascinated by running water and will spend plenty of time simply watching it if he has the chance. He’s also very talkative and isn’t shy about letting you know what’s on his mind. Like many cats, he appreciates a clean litter box and will definitely voice his opinion if cleaning day gets delayed. Leo would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for an affectionate, playful, and entertaining addition to their family.

Story
Chinook was abandoned at a business office in the pouring rain, covered in fleas and full of worms. He was estimated to be about 5 weeks old when abandoned. I have had him for the last 4 weeks, but he continues to have digestive issues and I can't financially afford it anymore and it's difficult to keep my autistic 4 year old away from him to give him the space, calm, and care he needs to fully recover. He's been dewormed and has no signs of parasites. He has a small patch of ringworm on his ear and tail that are currently being treated with antifungal wipes. I wanted to save this poor guy but he needs someone more experienced and with less going on. He's been around my 2 big dogs and 2 adult cats and he is GREAT with them. He's potty trained and loves to play and just be a feisty kitten!

Story
Looking for a calm and suitable home for my cat 🐈 I adopted him about 3 years ago when he was around 5 months old. He is an indoor cat with a very independent and reserved personality. He is not a social or overly affectionate cat, but once he feels comfortable and trusts someone, he can be sweet in his own way and occasionally seeks affection. He really enjoys quiet environments, routines, and having his own space. He does not do well with busy or loud households, frequent visitors, other cats, or dogs. Because of this, I believe he would do best in a calm home without other pets and preferably without small children. I also want to be completely honest: over the past few months, he has occasionally had issues with urinating on things inside the house. It is not a daily issue, but it has happened from time to time. Because of this, I want to find someone patient, understanding, and experienced with more sensitive and independent cats. I am not looking to give him away to just anyone

Story
This sweet cat was abandoned and has been hanging out with me for about a year. He seemed well fed but acted like he hadn’t had a meal in months. So I named him Frank Abagnale after the con artist depicted in the movie Catch Me if You Can. He finally came in the house a few months ago because something in the woods scared him. He likes to go out during the day, but seems fine indoors. He is extremely sweet and loves attention. Unfortunately my other cat does not like him at all so I have to keep them separated. For this reason I’m unable to give him all the love he deserves and it’s becoming more stressful for me and my cat. He loves the litter box, his cat bed and belly scratches.

Story
Hi there! This kitty is Loki the girl cat. Loki's owner died a few years ago and Loki has been in foster care ever since. She's about 5 years old now, vocal, BIG fan of pillows, loves perches near windows, obsessed with dogs, and typically prefers to be petted with your eyes. Yeah. Loki is extremely particular over who can pet her when. Her current foster (Loki's former Mom's sister) hasn't cracked the code. Loki will often meow and rub up against her humans, occasionally even allowing a pet! But if you pet too long or read the signs wrong, she slaps your hand (no claws used) and runs away. However, former owner's Mom is able to get a lot farther with Loki so we know there is hope for this cat. She was amazing with her original owner and we know she can be amazing with the right person again, we just need to find him/her. While Loki is people selective and shy at new places, she actually really likes sitting in the same room as people. She might not get in your lap (she did for last owner) but she loves being near you. She is also a HUGE FAN of all dogs. She meows at them, rubs against their legs, shares her food, and generally does really well with new dogs (of any size). She previously lived with 5 other cats (all of him who have been long sense adopted by now) and did well with her brother and another cat... She hasn't made any feline friends in her current foster home but is working on it. Look, we know this is a long shot. Loki will be amazing for the right person and we know she can be a loving cat, we just need someone to see her, fall in love, and give her the opportunity to blossom. Story
Meet Butters! Butters is a beautiful gray tabby girl born in July who currently weighs about 5 lbs. She and her brother, Links, were found on a rainy night abandoned on a dirt road in rural Alabama, but this little kitten has proven to be a resilient and joyful little spirit. Butters is fast, playful, and full of fun. She loves climbing the cat tree, scratching on her scratch pad, and chasing toys during playtime. When she’s done exploring, she’s happy to be picked up and will reward you with sweet, content purrs. This playful girl is litter box trained and ready to find a loving forever home where she can continue to play, explore, and be adored. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate kitten to brighten your days, Butters might be the perfect match. 🐾🐱 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel.
