Moxie is such a brave little girl. She spent some time in foster but she just wasn't thriving. Then we got hit with the news...Moxie had FIP! We took the opportunity to jump on the FIP Warriors 5.0 site to learn more about a new treatment that was saving hundreds of lives. After a successful fundraiser, Moxie had her first treatment. As I'm writing this she is on day 48 of an 84 day regimen and her bloodwork is amazing. She shows no sign of having it!! Fingers crossed !!!6/30/2023Moxie is very social. My name is Alexander. I used to live in a community cat colony in Los Angeles. Our caregiver noticed that I had a swollen cheek and a cloudy eye so she brought me to the shelter for help. Well it turned out that they thought I would do better in a home with a family! Surfcat came to the rescue and took me to their vet. They helped me with my cheek and eye and I feel so much better. I do have some kidney issues, but I'm only 5 and my foster mom says I can beat this! I love people and friendly cats. I love to play with toys and take care of my kitten roommates. Thanks for reading my story...Update: Xander has lost most of his vision but gets along fine. He is still very persnickety about his beautiful long coat and grooms himself on a regular basis. Since his vision has been declining, he’s a little sensitive to loud noises. He’s a little shy at first because he can’t really see. A quiet home is best for him. He’s OK with other cats as long as he has a place to go and be alone. He likes his Catio time (secured and outdoors) so that he could have his fresh growing cat grass and get some sun and fresh air. Hi! I'm Asha. I know what you're thinking, how can someone so pretty need a home? I don't remember much but I was found by a good Samaritan and taken to a shelter. Lucky for me, Surfcat rescued me from that loud, scary place. I love my foster mom but she would like to foster more kitties and says she can't until I get adopted. Ok, here's the thing, I am much happier being an only pet. In exchange for being an only pet, I would be happy to provide my supervisory services for someone who works from home, but I'm also fine being by myself if you have to go to work all day (or night). I'd also be an excellent companion for someone who is retired.I'm very shy at first but once I get to know you, I'm a sweet girl. Foster Mom says I'm not exactly a lap cat but I am a lap-adjacent cat, which she thinks is better because she doesn't have to move me when she gets up. She also says that one of my best qualities is that when I wake her up in the morning for breakfast, I'm pretty nice about it. I usually meow a little and jump up on the bed (I sleep on the couch, my choice) and if she doesn't get up, I either lie down next to her and wait for her to get up, or I jump down and keep myself busy until she does the right thing and feeds me.I'm pretty chill. I like sitting on the couch with my foster mom while she reads or watches TV (I'm becoming a true crime aficionado but I also enjoy watching the Dodgers and movies, especially Christmas ones). Another thing I love is going on the cat-safe balcony but that's as outdoors as I get.I hope you enjoyed reading about me.
