Story
Meet August, the gentle kitty with a paternal, caretaker streak. Handsome August is such a kind boy, affectionate with people and other cats. In one photo he is grooming Shaya  (FCID#04/09/2025-545) and in another he is relaxing with Rain (FCID#04/10/2025-12). When I entered their room, August, Shaya and Rain were all napping together in a cuddle puddle. I sat down to pet these sweeties. Other cats stopped by. I could see that all of the cats love August and feel welcome to be near him. I saw August gently groom three different cats who decided to curl up next to him during my visit. Watch August’s charming video with Rain as they both enjoy pets and Rain gives August a hug. Will you be the lucky one to bring home this loving boy with the bright green eyes? Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/.  Not ready to adopt?  Please consider fostering:  https://forgottencats.org/foster-a-cat/.   Thank you!  (Foster:  Trainer)      May 4, 2025, 10:32 am

Story
FCID#04/08/2025-528Copper is at Christiana Petsmart. Meet handsome buff tabby Copper! Copper has amazing bronze-copper coloring and soft amber eyes. He is one dashing boy! But he’s actually got it all. In addition to his striking looks, Copper also has the sweetest, kindest, most loving personality. He’s also a chatty boy. Copper’s foster family just loves Copper and his friend/roommate Lola (FCID#04/08/2025-515) because they both have gentle, social and playful attitudes. These two were rescued together. They can be adopted together or separately. I’m writing about Lola and Copper together because they have such similar personalities and behavior.  Both kitties will form a very strong bond with their special people. They want to be near you and are wonderful, entertaining company. They both have a habit that I haven’t seen often in seven years of fostering cats. Lola and Copper love to hop on your lap, step up to your face, look at you sweetly and give your face gentle kisses and cheek rubs. They just LOVE their people! You won’t find more affectionate, snuggly kitties to be your new best feline friends. Lola and Copper enjoy sleeping in a sunny window or curling up on your lap. But these cuddle bugs also have a big playful side. They love to chase all kinds of toys, from ping pong balls to wand toys. Both are athletic and tons of fun to play with. They are confident and outgoing and have been quick to warm up to new people and settings. Be sure to check out Copper’s video:  https://www.youtube.com/shorts/QiURU5IdmPw ! Does Copper sound like the cat for you?  Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/.  Thank you!  (Foster: Laurie B)    May 4, 2025, 7:34 am

Story
This kitten has just arrived! They have come to us on transport from a shelter partner, were found as stray, or surrendered to our care. When kittens arrive to us we are typically unsure of their full background, litter box habits, how they are with handling, or how much socialization with humans/animals they have received. Kittens require a significant amount of patience and training to learn how to behave properly in a home. The first few months of having a kitten is a critical time to improve socialization and help your kitten become confident. Exposing your kitten to all kinds of touch, sounds, people, and animals can ensure a well-socialized adult cat. Remember, kittens aren’t born knowing how to live in a human’s world, it is up to you to teach them how to make good decisions in a positive and caring manner. The more positive interactions they have in their first year of life will set them up for better behavior in the future. If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.
