Story
We found Bonnie when she was just a kitten, in our neighbor's trashcan. She has been with us ever since and has been an amazing house cat. She is grey/white female who is around 9 years old. She does great with adults and children and does live with 2 dogs and another cat. She might take a little bit to warm up with other animals, but has done well with ours! She is an indoor cat, but loves to go outside as long as you're with her. Super sweet and loves to cuddle and sleep with you. Oddly enough, the only toys she will play with is a hair tie and laser pointer.

Story
Meet Forrest 🧡—a 9-year old orange tabby with a gentle soul and a tender heart. Forrest has had a tough time finding his forever home, probably because he’s a little shy around strangers and has been moved from place to place, meeting lots of new people along the way. Recently, when his foster mom reconnected with him, Forrest hugged into her and refused to let her set him down—a perfect reminder of the affectionate, loving cat he truly is once he feels safe. Forrest has experienced some big changes, including the loss of his home and the loss of his bonded friend while in the shelter, so he’s navigating a new chapter and will need a patient, understanding home where he can feel secure again. He may be shy at first—especially around men, other cats, and sudden noises-but once he warms up, his affectionate side shines bright. He loves head rubs and scratches and will happily nuzzle your hand when offered. 💛 At bedtime, Forrest shows just how sweet he can be: he enjoys sleeping in bed with his foster mom, alternating between cozy snuggles right beside her and stretching out at the foot of the bed. He also adores cardboard scratching pads, which are one of his favorite comforts. Forrest would thrive in a calm, quiet home with someone willing to give him time, gentleness, and reassurance. In return, he’ll reward you with soft snuggles, loyal companionship, and the kind of love only a grateful, gentle cat can give.

Story
Meet December, an adorable 3.5-month-old black-and-white kitten with endless enthusiasm and a talent for finding fun everywhere she looks. If it's hanging, swinging, or dangling, December has already decided it's a toy. A hand hanging off the couch? Kitten attack incoming. Hoodie strings, shoelaces, and sibling tails are all fair game in her world. This energetic little girl approaches every day like it's a brand-new adventure. When she's not busy chasing her siblings or inventing games, December can usually be found batting around her favorite little rubber ball. She's especially proud of her ability to not only chase it but also carry it around like a treasured prize. December loves attention and is always happy to be part of whatever you're doing. She enjoys pets and affection, although she may need to finish an important play session first. And if you're offering wet food, you'll quickly become one of her favorite people. Sweet, playful, curious, and full of personality, December is the kind of kitten who will keep you smiling every day. If you're looking for a fun-loving companion with a big heart and an even bigger sense of adventure, December is ready to make your home her own. If you are interesting apply at Shelbycats.com/adopt and a volunteer will reach out to you shortly!
