Story
Allow me to introduce you to Wednesday, an adorable 4 ½-year-old female Barely Dilute Tortie with a delightful personality! This lovely lady has already had her essential veterinary needs met; she has received her FVRCP vaccine, undergone a thorough flea treatment, and been dewormed. To ensure her safety and help her find her way back home if she ever gets lost, she will also come with a lifetime registration microchip. Wednesday was previously adopted in 2021 but has returned to our care due to her previous family's allergies. Despite this setback, she remains a friendly and affectionate cat, eager to find a new forever home where she can thrive. With a little love, patience, and understanding, she is sure to flourish in a nurturing environment. Wednesday is looking forward to creating wonderful memories with a new family who appreciates her charm and spirit! ADOPTION FEE: LOCAL $65 NON-LOCAL $100 All animals can go home the same day as adoption. We will need your photo ID, and you will sign some documents. Adopters will also receive a copy of the animal's medical history to date. We do not do an application process. All adoptions are first-come, first-served. We do not offer holds. All cats must leave in a carrier. If you need one, you can purchase it from us.

Story
Peggy Sue is a 4-5 month old kitten. She is FIV positive. We noticed a mother cat and 2 kittens roaming around in December. We set up heat lamps and put food and water out for them. One of the kittens disappeared in January, then about 3 weeks ago the mother disappeared. I caught the kitten on March 3. She has been in the house since then. I took her to the vet today March 10 and she tested positive for FIV. Otherwise she is healthy, and is showing no symptoms of FIV. My mother and I already have cats and cannot risk them catching FIV. She is very sweet. She is still pretty timid but is slowly coming around. She is litter box trained as well. She will need to be in an only cat family or with an owner who has FIV positive cats.

🐾 Meet Tikka: Your Future Nap Buddy & Treat Inspector! 🐾 Tikka is a charming brown and white tabby with a PhD in slow blinking and a black belt in purr therapy. She enjoys quiet observation, judging your snack choices, and curling up in the coziest spots in the house (preferably yours). She may be a little shy at first, but once she decides you’re trustworthy, she’ll follow you like a tiny, furry shadow and demand head pats on a very professional schedule. If you’ve got treats, patience, and a sense of humor, Tikka is ready to be your loyal lap cat, nap partner, and general mischief consultant. In her foster home she is very curious about other cats and has positive interactions with them! Story
Adoption Fee Reduced for December! Say hello to Buddy! Easygoing and Friendly are two words that perfectly describe him. Back in 2019, Buddy was fostered by his current foster mom. He was surrendered back to AOSC through no fault of his own and was adopted. No fault of his own was surrendered a second time in 2024-- he would love to find his FUREVER home. Buddy has a luxating patella, and it is causing arthritis in his knee. He has been responding well to Solensia shots, but that is an ongoing expense prospective adopters should be aware of. His foster mom has this to say about him: "Before coming back to me as a foster, Buddy was up for adoption at an adoption center, but was terrified at that particular adoption location. As soon as I brought him home, he has been nothing but sweet and affectionate! It has been fun fostering a previous foster of mine! Buddy loves human attention and loves to rub against your legs and be petted. He wants to be wherever YOU are! His foster home has 2 adult cats and he gets along with them very well. His last home he also got along with the other adult cat in the home. Buddy is curious and loves to sit and stare out the window. He LOVES Catnip and his favorite treats are Catnip Temptations! As a matter of fact, his favorite toys are filled with Catnip too! Buddy is a Good-Natured fellow who prefers to keep his space clean, including no bad litter box habits. This Handsome, Affectionate boy will be a great addition to a new family, and hopefully find the forever family that he deserves! Buddy is currently in a foster home. If you feel like he would be the perfect fit for your family, please consider visiting shelbycats.com/adopt to begin the application process!
