Story
Our sweet girls name is Loki, she's such a sweet, loving, sassy little girl. We obtained her about 4-5 years ago when her mother had kittens on our neighbors doorstep and for one reason or another, the babies ended up abandoned. We took her in due to the winter months coming soon and she's been with us ever since. She can be a little scared at first to new places but adapts very quickly! She is cat box trained fully, shes never caused me any problems or any potty issues and is loved by many and all that meet her! It absolutely kills us to have to let her go but we are being forced to due to landlord restrictions. Please, serious inquiries only and only those with lots of love to give as she deserves that much and more!!! You can tell she is mixed with Maine coon but I'm not sure what else. She's not fixed but that hasn't been a problem as she's been strictly indoors. Please contact me here for further details or if interested! Thank you so much!

Story
Adoption Fee Reduced for December! Say hello to Buddy! Easygoing and Friendly are two words that perfectly describe him. Back in 2019, Buddy was fostered by his current foster mom. He was surrendered back to AOSC through no fault of his own and was adopted. No fault of his own was surrendered a second time in 2024-- he would love to find his FUREVER home. Buddy has a luxating patella, and it is causing arthritis in his knee. He has been responding well to Solensia shots, but that is an ongoing expense prospective adopters should be aware of. His foster mom has this to say about him: "Before coming back to me as a foster, Buddy was up for adoption at an adoption center, but was terrified at that particular adoption location. As soon as I brought him home, he has been nothing but sweet and affectionate! It has been fun fostering a previous foster of mine! Buddy loves human attention and loves to rub against your legs and be petted. He wants to be wherever YOU are! His foster home has 2 adult cats and he gets along with them very well. His last home he also got along with the other adult cat in the home. Buddy is curious and loves to sit and stare out the window. He LOVES Catnip and his favorite treats are Catnip Temptations! As a matter of fact, his favorite toys are filled with Catnip too! Buddy is a Good-Natured fellow who prefers to keep his space clean, including no bad litter box habits. This Handsome, Affectionate boy will be a great addition to a new family, and hopefully find the forever family that he deserves! Buddy is currently in a foster home. If you feel like he would be the perfect fit for your family, please consider visiting shelbycats.com/adopt to begin the application process!

Story
Meet Kalu, a handsome fellow with a heart of gold and a story of resilience. Kalu once knew the comforts of a home, but after his owner passed away earlier this year, he found himself navigating life on the streets. Despite these challenges, he has remained an incredibly friendly and easygoing guy who has charmed the entire neighborhood. Kalu is a true "lover boy" who is happiest when he is getting head rubs or curling up in a warm lap. He recently needed some help from a vet to heal a wound from his time outside, and throughout his treatment, he was a perfect gentleman—never angry, just grateful for the care. Now fully healed and at a healthy weight, he is ready to retire from his street adventures. This wonderful boy loves the simple things in life: a sprinkle of catnip, a high window perch to watch the world go by, and a safe place to rest. Kalu has been relying on the kindness of strangers, but he deserves a forever family of his own. Kalu needs a home where he is the only cat. However, he loves thee company of dogs and enjoys cozying up with them for naps. What really makes Kalu special is how amazing he is with families. He absolutely adores kids and is incredibly patient—he’ll let them carry him around, cuddle him, and even tolerates a little roughhousing without a fuss. In fact, he joins right in on the fun! If the kids meow at him, Kalu will happily meow back, often sparking the cutest “meow conversations” throughout the house. He’s a very vocal boy who loves interacting and being talked to.Kalu’s charm doesn’t stop there—he’s also dog-friendly! He’s been known to cuddle up with canine companions, gently headbutting them in his signature affectionate way. If you are looking for a chill, affectionate companion who will be forever grateful for a second chance, Kalu is the one for you. If Kalu sounds like the perfect fit for your family, please consider visiting shelbycats.com/adopt to begin the application process!
