Story
Meet Daisy, a charming 2-year-old cat ready to fill your home with affection and playful energy! This loving girl enjoys nothing more than cuddles and attention, making her the perfect companion for cozy nights in. Daisy has a medium energy level, enjoying a balance of playtime and relaxation. Her favorite activities include chasing spring toys, batting at wand toys, and pouncing on the elusive laser pointer. After a fun play session, she loves lounging and being pet. Daisy also enjoys stepping outside for a bit in the garden. While she's generally relaxed, she does have her occasional zoomies! Daisy can be a bit vocal and is known for giving the occasional "stink eye," but her facial expressions are always entertaining. She's been around other cats and children but hasn't been exposed to dogs. She would do best in a home with moderate activity where she can be the center of attention. Ready to welcome this affectionate feline into your life? Please consider visiting shelbycats.com/adopt to begin the application process!

Story
Say hello to Buddy! Easygoing and Friendly are two words that perfectly describe him. Back in 2019, Buddy was fostered by his current foster mom. He was surrendered back to AOSC through no fault of his own and was adopted. No fault of his own was surrendered a second time in 2024-- he would love to find his FUREVER home. His foster mom has this to say about him: "Before coming back to me as a foster, Buddy was up for adoption at an adoption center, but was terrified at that particular adoption location. As soon as I brought him home, he has been nothing but sweet and affectionate! It has been fun fostering a previous foster of mine! Buddy loves human attention and loves to rub against your legs and be petted. He wants to be wherever YOU are! His foster home has 2 adult cats and he gets along with them very well. His last home he also got along with the other adult cat in the home. Buddy is curious and loves to sit and stare out the window. He LOVES Catnip and his favorite treats are Catnip Temptations! As a matter of fact, his favorite toys are filled with Catnip too! Buddy is a Good-Natured fellow who prefers to keep his space clean, including no bad litter box habits. This Handsome, Affectionate boy will be a great addition to a new family, and hopefully find the forever family that he deserves! Buddy is currently in a foster home. If you feel like he would be the perfect fit for your family, please consider visiting shelbycats.com/adopt to begin the application process!

Story
Meet Cloud Creek, a handsome 5-month-old kitten seeking a patient and loving adopter. Initially hesitant after being trapped and neutered, Cloud Creek has blossomed in his foster home. While he may startle easily with sudden movements, he's learning to trust and enjoy human companionship. Cloud Creek has gone from hiding under the bed to snuggling with his foster mom at night, even sharing the blankets with small dogs! String toys capture his attention, and he'll reward gentle pets with an intense purr. He's been around cats and dogs and seems adaptable, though he may need extra time to fully adjust. Cloud Creek needs a "zen garden" environment to start, but as he gains confidence, he may enjoy a more stimulating home. He's reserved but will head-butt your hand if you're patient. Once held firmly, he loves to be cuddled—his foster mom even carries him around in her zippered sweatshirt! With time and understanding, Cloud Creek will mature into a sweet and affectionate companion. Consider visiting shelbycats.com/adopt to begin the application process!

Story
🐾 Meet Sora: A Gentle Soul Learning to Trust 🐾 Sora is a pretty tabby kitten with mesmerizing eyes and a heart full of potential. Born in the wild, she's been under the compassionate care of her foster parent, who has been patiently guiding her journey from feral to familiar. When someone enters her room, Sora instinctively seeks a quiet corner, becoming still and silent—a behavior her mama taught her for safety. If picked up, she may hiss, but it's all show; once in your arms, she settles peacefully, never showing aggression. Each day, Sora shows subtle signs of blossoming curiosity. She watches her surroundings with growing interest and is beginning to understand that human hands can offer gentle affection. Her progress, though gradual, is a testament to her resilience and the nurturing environment she's in. Sora would thrive in a serene home with patient individuals who appreciate the quiet victories—like a tentative step into the open or a curious glance from her favorite hiding spot. A household without young children or energetic pets would be ideal, allowing her the space and time to continue building confidence. Adopting Sora means embracing a journey of trust and transformation. With your love and patience, she'll continue to unfold, revealing the affectionate companion she's destined to be.
