Story
Meet Keke! Keke used to be an outside girl, but after a nice family took her in for the winter storm, she`s decided she`s over that life. From her short vacation before arriving with us, we`ve learned a few things about her. Keke does NOT like other cats. She coexisted well with a small child and a dog, mostly just keeping to herself. Keke is a litterbox pro and is a very tidy girl.Keke can also get overstimulated pretty easily sometimes. Although she tolerated the young child in the home petting her all over, here in the shelter she has shown some issues with being poked and prodded too much. A quieter home might be best for her. She also doesn`t enjoy being picked up and carried longer than what it would take to move her somewhere. If you have a (relatively) calm home and a little bit of patience, Keke would love to be your new best friend!

Story
Meet Lovey! Lovey is the last of four cats transferred to Animal Friends from a partner rescue in early February. She tends to be overlooked due to her shy and timid nature, but once she warms up to people, she really lives up to her name!Although she may be hiding in her bed when you first approach her cage, she`ll readily accept chin scritches from a gentle hand. She likes to have somewhere to retreat when she gets overwhelmed. Lovey has shown that she`s pretty indifferent to other cats as long as they don`t invade her personal space-- she`s the coexisting type.If you think this sweet, shy girl sounds purrfect for you, come meet Lovey today!

Story
Meet Splotch! Splotch found her way to us after a good samaritan found her wandering a park looking a little rough. She was super sweet and came right up to them, knowing she was about to get her second chance. In the shelter, she`s been nothing but an angel; great for vetting, handling, and playing. Splotch loves catnip and catnip toys and will readily bat around a feather wand. She also has a tiny quirk. If given the chance, Splotch has decided that her FAVORITE snack is clay litter. She now gets pine pellet litter and hasn`t had any litter-eating tendencies since. Despite that, Splotch would be great in any home. She doesn`t mind being poked and prodded once she`s been given a chance to settle in and warm up to her environment. She`s never had any issues seeing other cats and would probably love a kitty companion. Come meet Splotch today and give her the second chance she deserves!

Story
Meet Scrabble! Scrabble came to us with her five kittens who have all since been adopted. In her foster home, Scrabble was a little timid with her fosters, and she continues to be shy in the shelter. However, if you reach out calmly, she invites scritches and pets. You might have to look in her cave bed to find her, though. With other cats in the shelter Scrabble can be a little hissy, but we believe she would just need a slow and patient introduction to be comfortable with resident cats in a home environment. Her foster home had resident animals that Scrabble tolerated, although she was mostly separated from them.If you have the room to give a retired momma her forever home, come meet Scrabble today!

Story
Meet Panic!Panic came to us as an owner surrender after living in a loving home for 13 years. After her owner passed away and family was unable to take her in, she found her way to us. Her previous owner`s family notes that, although she did previously live with other animals, she would do best in a home where she can be your one and only; she did not get along with the other animals and simply tolerated them the whole time. Panic occasionally, well, panicked when she interacted with them.In the shelter, Panic has been very fearful of everyone and everything. She does not like loud noises or sudden movements. After over a week of behavior work, Panic finally allows cat staff to pet her and will lean into scratches. However, she tends to dart to the other side of her cage at first. Because of her strong boundaries (that she would only ever enforce by running away), we recommend that she also go to a home with no children under 12 years old.We know that Panic has been through so much in the last month, and we know that there`s a sweet and loving cat hiding underneath her scared exterior. If you have an adult-only home with no other pets and the room for a sweet senior girl to blossom, come meet Panic today and give her the second chance she deserves!
