Story
"Adoptable Dewy (who has a sponsored adoption fee to an approved applicant!) is certainly talking to us more and lets us know when he wants a belly scratch. His absolute favorite pastime is watching the woods out the window. He is so funny to watch as he runs from window to window following squirrels and chipmunks go by. Our hummingbird feeder is another favorite of Dewy's to monitor." -Dewy's foster mom. He will do best in a quiet house with no children or other pets. He still startles at quick movements or loud sounds. Once he is comfortable, Dewy loves to play with crinkly toy balls, his catnip mixes, and cat dancers and he sure is becoming more and more comfortable. He grooms himself well as he likes to look his best! Eating and using the litterbox are not issues at all with good boy Dewy. Whoever adopts Dewy will need to have a lot of patience. While it takes a long while to earn his trust, he is so worth it. Dewy is about five-and-a-half years old and is neutered. Dewy is living in a foster home! To adopt this fluffy handsome hunk, please email us at pets@michianapets.org.

Story
Need a little more happiness? Maybe a few more smiles? How 'bout a whole lotta extra laughter? If any of those are true, then you need to adopt eight-month-old Bean. She is an exuberant ray of sunshine who is an on-the-go kind of gal. Bean is one of our most fun kitties! She LOVES enrichment activities! You can always count on Bean to reach her paws out through her cage to get your attention. She flies high after toys-on-strings and has a blast trying to catch them. We know she'll bring up the energy level in any household because she brings ours up every day! Bean would love to be the only kitty in her new home and asks that kiddos are about 10ish and older. Even though she is a high-energy sweetheart, a home without a lot of commotion would suit her best! Bean is spayed and is available for adoption!

Story
Rain wants to know what has been stopping you from adopting her?! She is funny, relational, cuddly-once-she-knows-you, and is so funny when feathers and catnip are combined! She asks for a few minutes to get to know you first! Once she does, Rain is all nuzzles, cuddles, and affection. And boy, oh boy, does this girl love feathery toys! She has so much fun chasing them and is so much fun because she is so interactive. We think she would be the happiest girl if she could be the only furbaby in her new home. As long as she has all of your love and affection, she will be thrilled. Rain is a little younger than two years old and is spayed. Please ask us to see her when you arrive!

Story
You don't often hear of a cat surviving after being hit by a car. Well, Spot did. Although, now she is paralyzed and has very little function in her back legs. (Sidenote! Email us at pets@michianapets.org to request an application. Spot is in a foster home!) We were not sure if Spot was going to be able to make it through her trauma. But each day, she was getting stronger, healing more and was proving to be the absolute sweetest and most loving girl. We were so grateful to be able to give her a second chance. Spot needed a foster home because the kennel-life was not a fit for her. Her foster family is amazing and they created a bag that goes around her waist so she can "walk" around without getting abrasions and wounds on her back legs. Spot was not remotely interested in a wheelchair; her little drag-bag allows her to be just as mobile and she is totally succeeding! Here is a note from her foster mom: "Spot is a one-year-old spayed bundle of love and curiosity. Spot is an incredibly affectionate girl who wants nothing more than to be by your side (or better yet, in your lap). She will happily curl up for hours, purring and chatting away with her soft, sweet meows. She truly loves to “talk.” Spot’s favorite toys are anything with feathers, and she’s wonderful with dogs of all sizes. Despite losing the use of her back legs, Spot hasn’t lost her joyful spirit or her zest for life. She has adapted beautifully and gets around with ease, always eager to explore, cuddle, and make friends. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will fill your home with love, warmth, and a little chatter, Spot is your girl. She is full of curiosity, joy, and nonstop purrs. Please adopt the happiest little survivor. She is ready to roll right into your heart." -Spot's foster mom. Her adopter will need to be able to express her bladder but please don't let that deter you! Many of us had no idea how to until we were taught and now it is so easy! We can teach you, too! Of course, Spot is the perfect girl so she makes everything easy on us.

Story
Meet Billy! He loves feathery toys and is becoming more and more curious every day! He may be reserved at first but ventures out especially with the help of those fun feathers! We've learned that the longer we hang out with Billy, the more interactive he becomes. He's been a joy to get to know and to spend time with. Billy loves to be petted and will let you know when he is feeling all affectionate and when he feels like he has other fun stuff to explore! He isn't a huge fan of being held and asks that you respect that but he definitely is a dude who still likes to be around whatever is going on. We think that a home on the quiet side would be best for Billy. Once he is comfortable in a situation, he sure does shine! We'd love for him to be able to blossom in a home environment, too! If there are other cats in the home, they should be playful and like to rough-and-tumble around like Billy does! He is a little over two years old and he is neutered. Adopt Billy!

Story
Have you EVER seen a cuter face? Not only is Ruby's face simply precious but her personality is endearingly heart-melting. She chirps, she nuzzles, she purrs, she loves. Ruby will see you come into the breakroom (that's currently where she is living) and she comes right over and will solicit affection. If you have time to sit down and hang with her for a bit, you are best friends by the time you have to go on your way. She asks that you allow her to come to you and once she knows you're a friend, she pours out all of her affection and cuddles! So, please be patient with our girl. Ruby shines brightest when she is around calmness. We would love for her new home to be a quiet one where she can relax and feel safe. The more acclimated Ruby becomes, the more love she continues to share with us! She is about six-and-a-half years old and is spayed. Ruby is loving living in our breakroom so please ask to see her when you get to the shelter.
