Story
***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** Bobcat (sister to Skunk) is what your therapist says you need...boundaries. She's all about respect, mostly you respecting her that is; she's a cat after all. While her sister Skunk will give you all the love you desire, it's her love that will feel like a reward. She needs someone that wants to take care of both her and her sister as the pair they are! She needs someone that will be patient with her, after all you are a stranger. Bobcat has shown her foster parents after two months that she wants to love humans but on her own accord. It is often that this love is shown when the room is quiet and everyone else if off playing. She loves laps and belly rubs, and while you may wonder in the beginning if she will warm up to you as her sister is purring in your lap...she will, she just needs time. When she does warm up to you, you'll know you've just done something not everyone has the power to do; winning over a cat. The girls were born the first part of October 2025 and are spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  As always cat/kitten adoption is free will to approved applicants.  March 7, 2026, 6:20 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Vera was born sometime between 2015 and 2022. If that seems like a lot of uncertainty, that’s because we usually age cats by their teeth and Vera’s are missing! This is because of the high ammonia levels in the environment she had been forced to live in. (Sadly, rescues see this all the time and can tell the difference between this and tooth-loss from old age.) Vera’s fur was so stained it was also hard to say what color she was, even after a bath. It took a full shedding cycle to be sure she is gray! We don’t know how she’s still so small when she spends most of her time napping or hovering around a food dish. We have a lot of unanswered questions about this little lady, but we do know that she is very friendly! Vera came to us out of a bad situation. Her rescuers actually thought she was dying. Fortunately, she turned out to be stable,  and the shelter was able to address her needs and eventually move her to a community room .  Vera made fast friends and bonded with Twizzler, a male brown classic tabby who also has an unusual face. The bonded pair are very sweet together, often curled together in a cat bed. As mature cats who spend most of their time joined at the hip, this low-maintenance bundle would provide you with love and smiles for many years to come.  Vera is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. As always, cat/kitten adoptions are free will donation to approved applicants. ****The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org**** March 7, 2026, 6:20 pm

Story
****The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org**** Lana came in with her whole litter of siblings during some TNR work and the kittens were too small for their spay/neuter surgery.  The whole crew is sweet and gentle with lots of energy and kitten antics!  Lana and her other black and white sister Luka, are super soft and easy going.  They are content playing with toys on their own or lounging around looking adorable of course!  They get along splendidly with other cats and would be an easy addition to a home with other friendly cats as they don't seem to be bothered by a thing.  Lana was born middle of May 2025 and she would think it totally cool to go home with a sibling if that was an option because two is much better than just one!   She is spayed, microchipped, FeLV/FIV negative and up-to-date on vaccinations. As always, cat/kitten adoptions are free will donation to approved applicants.  March 7, 2026, 6:20 pm

Story
****The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org**** Stunning doesn't even begin to describe Ridley's fur coat and check out that tail! His mom and siblings were dumped in the country at a sanctuary for farm animals.  We imagine the ones who did it probably assumed they would just go unnoticed amongst the other animals on the property.  However, Retta, Ridley and Reeves were skinny, sick and covered in fleas so the family that cares for the sanctuary animals reached out for help and since they have helped up in placing farm animals, we were happy to help them with the mom and kittens. The siblings were born late April of 2025.  Ridley is a shy guy that is learning how to trust and relax around people.  He does love other cats and we think in a home setting where things are quiet and he could become comfortable he will very likely grow in to a calm yet sweet and oh so handsome guy!   He is neutered, microchipped, negative on FeLV/FIV and up-to-date on vaccinations. As always, cat/kitten adoptions are free will donation to approved applicants.  March 7, 2026, 6:20 pm

Story
Zipper and his siblings Velcro and Button were born to mama Suede on 9/2/25. Suede took a while to trust us, but her babies love people. All three are orange. Button is a little lighter than her brothers. All three are typical kittens. They want to play and explore. They go wild for treats and wand toys. Zipper  is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. As always, cat/kitten adoptions are free will donation to approved applicants. ****The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org****  March 7, 2026, 6:20 pm

Story
This tiny classic tabby girl was born May 8 of 2025 and ended up all by herself in human care less than two days later. Doty was found outside someone’s garage and very lucky to be rescued from the elements. As a hand-raised kitten, Doty wants human love and attention. She is very friendly and confident and has now had the chance to learn to cat properly in our kitten room. Be prepared for typical kitten energy and antics, as well as the envy of everyone you know when they meet the striking and friendly addition to your family. If Doty is not spayed by the time she is adopted, she will be on a spay/neuter contract. She is microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. As always, cat/kitten adoptions are free will donation to approved applicants. ****The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org**** March 7, 2026, 6:20 pm
