Story
Gotcha is a 8.5 year old boy who came to us from a home that could no longer care for him. Adorable Gotcha would love to be your new friend! This friendly boy adores attention and showers his people with head bonks and snuggles. He would be a perfect companion for someone who enjoys a cozy night with a good book. He can be timid when meeting new people, but once he realizes pats are on the table, he warms up quickly. Gotcha loves being patted! He has a cute little meow and enjoys mealtime chats. Gotcha likes the company of other cats and is also great with the small dog in his foster home. This handsome boy is a real catch! Gotcha is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Gotcha has been diagnosed with diabetes. Diabetes is a condition where a cat cannot regulate their own blood sugar due to an inability to make enough insulin. Our adoption counselor would be happy to chat with your more about Gotcha and any questions you may have about diabetes. Adoption Fee: $175 If you have already submitted an application with us, you do not need to do another one, please email adoptioncounselor@mrfrs.org if you are interested in adopting Gotcha. We will take inquiries on a first come, first served basis via email. If you have not completed our questionnaire, please do so here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MER/Cat

Story
Liam is an equally energetic and lazy cat who likes to be near you on his own terms. He would do best in a house with no young children or with a family that is observant and respectful of his queues for wanting to be left alone. He also would do best being adopted with his sister Lacie or as an only cat. He doesn’t mind dogs as long as he has a place he can call his own. Liam loves to play - with cat dancers and tunnels and hide and seek. He dobest with at least 20-30min a day of play time with his human. This can include supervised walks on or off a leash, chasing a laser or string. He loves to sit in windows and watch birds and take naps in the sun. Liam does have some seasonal allergies that are managed with the occasional allergy pill. He also must be on urinary support food as he has a history of a blocked urethra without issue since 2015. I’m traveling often for long periods of time and Liam deserves someone who can give him The love and attention as his human

Story
Lacie is a quintessential lap cat. She’s docile, talkative, affectionate, and bossy. She’s also an excellent alarm clock and “mother cat” as she takes care of her humans and her adoptive brother cat Liam (orange cat in pics also up for adoption). She would be best adopted with Liam or if not possible than with someone who can spend time snuggling and giving her loads of attention. I’m traveling more and more for long periods of time and after a decade together feel that this schedule is no longer fair to Liam and Lacie and they deserve to spend time with their human(s) being present. Lacie is great with kids of all ages though enjoys a quiet environment where she can rule as the queen bee. Her default is “freeze and flop” if met with conflict or is scared. She (and Liam) have their own passports and do well in the car and plane as long as you are there for her to talk to. She loves to play - and watch Liam play- and doesn’t like to feel left out so will follow you around.

Story
Majic is a beautiful, gentle boy just over 2 years old with a story that tugs at the heart. He arrived at the shelter after being left behind in an apartment with his brother, Panther. Understandably, he’s a bit shy and nervous in this new environment, but underneath that uncertainty is an incredibly sweet and loving cat waiting for the right person to help him feel secure. Majic has previously lived with both cats and dogs and has done great with them, making him a wonderful candidate for a home with other calm, friendly pets. And while he and Panther aren’t considered a bonded pair, the two brothers share a strong connection and would be more than happy to start their new life together if someone can open their home to both. Majic is considered a special-needs adoption because he has a heart murmur. At this time, he appears comfortable and unaffected, but he will need monitoring for symptoms such as coughing, exercise intolerance, or difficulty breathing. An echocardiogram and a cardiology consultation should be discussed with your veterinarian to fully understand and manage his condition. Majic is ready to put his past behind him and begin a new chapter with someone kind, loving and devoted to giving him the safe, happy home he deserves. Could that someone be you?Apply for him today at capeannanimalaid.org/cat app

Story
Meet Sophie! This little lady loves chin scratches and head rubs. She is very affectionate and loving but can get a bit overwhelmed with pats so a home where her boundaries are respected and understood would be best. She`s a very sweet girl, but emotions can be hard sometimes and she handles it the only way she knows how. Someone who is knowledgeable of cat body language and is patient enough to give her space and time to acclimate on her own would be perfect. Sophie would thrive in a calm, single-resident or single-couple home, as we don`t feel she would do well with children or in a high-traffic household. Sounds like somebody you could love? Sophie is now part of our extended stay program and her adoption fee has been reduced!Fill out an application today!Apply for Sophie today at: capeannanimalaid.org/catapp
