Story
Belle is the sweetest little buff gal trapped on the streets of Philly! Belle was living outside where it was clear she was not feral. She is super friendly and enjoying the amenities of indoor life! Belle has one chronically crossed eye as a result of a prior eye infection outside that was never fully resolved but it’s been totally cleared by our vet and is just part of who she is! Belle can co exist with other cats or would be happy as your one & only! Belle is spayed, UTD on vaccines, FIV/FeLV negative, & microchipped! Story
Biggie Smalls is an XL guy who was an owner surrender due to no fault of his own! He’s around 11 years old and is the happiest older man! Since being in foster care, Biggie has been great with his foster mama and seems to enjoy his human friends! Biggie can sometimes be a bully to other cats and would do best as an only cat or with another cat that is not super submissive. Biggie is fully vetted (neutered, UTD on vaccines, FIV/FeLv negative, & microchipped!) Biggie also had a senior panel done when entering the rescue and has a clean bill of health! Story
Say hello to Big Tig ❤️ Big Tig has actually been with the rescue for a year and a half, but I didn’t think he was adoptable for a long while and hadn’t been promoting him. BT came to us (along with his baby’s mom & 2 kids - all of whom have since been adopted) back in 2024 after they were living behind a pharmacy in Kensington. He presented as friendly in the trap so I was able to place him in foster with someone who didn’t mind a big tom with raging hormones that needed to time to simmer. It didn’t take long for him to start being aggressive & reactive - he’d start attacking her as soon as she entered the room to the point she would suit up just to walk in. We tried everything from more enrichment, treats, etc. but his behavior continued to escalate. The foster was amazing & wanted him to thrive but felt like he wasn’t making any progress with her so he came here. It was hit or miss at first here too and on more than one occasion he put some holes in me & sometimes I had even wished I had just TNR’d him (though I never actually meant it) But I was able to start figuring out his triggers and slowly but surely we made progress. Even so, he was still not safe to be around strangers. He’d puff up and charge people entering his space (though did listen when I’d firmly correct him and use myself as a barrier) but somehow after all of this time every guard has been let down and he is now a very good boy with everyone! He’s turned into a big baby - loves a good head scratch, makes the loudest purrs while he makes biscuits, & has *sort of* figured out how to play. It’s clear he had been through sit making him the way he was but with a lot of love & patience he’s a new man. Big Tig is now eligible for adoption to a cat experienced person who isn’t put off by a cat who will need a long time to adjust & bond with them. He loves other cats and will need a home with another friendly cat or two! I’d say he’s middle aged (5-7ish), neutered, UTD on vaccines, FIV/FeLV negative, & will be microchipped! I don’t think he’d do well with dogs & due to his behavioral history he cannot go to a home with children. https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HOTC/Cat

Story
Minnie is a super sweet cow kitty who showed up to eat in an area where there are many other cats. The feeders could tell she wasn’t feral and brought her into clinic only to find out she was not only already spayed, but microchipped too! Her owners answered the call and said they would come get her, but unfortunately they stood her up and she waited all day for them. We took her into the rescue and she has been a perfect sweet girl! She’s at least 5 based on her chip and is super mellow & loving. She’s been a lovely houseguest for her foster and has done fine with the other cats and dogs! Minnie has had some dental issues so we are scheduling a full mouth extraction. Minnie can still go to an adoptive home in the interim as long as her adopter can bring her to the designated vet for the procedure! She is spayed, UTD on vaccines, FIV/FeLV negative, & microchipped! Story
Say hello to Celeste (AKA Zesty!) Celeste was calling North Broad Street her home for about a month before she was lucky enough to catch the eye of her now foster! She did have a feeder but was unfortunately becoming sickly outside and needed more help! Luckily, her foster mom scooped her up & asked us to take her under the rescue. She was sick with a URI & heavily infested with worms but thanks to some antibiotics, wormer, & lots of TLC - she is now her absolute best self ?? She’s about 4-5 years old and likes to be a Velcro cat that lays on your chest while you give her lots of affection! Because of her past, she has been a bit reactive towards other cats & dogs, so would really do best as your one & only! She also tends to startle easily so a home without small children would be best. She is spayed, UTD on vaccines, FIV/FeLV negative, & microchipped! Apply to adopt Celeste using the link below! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HOTC/Cat
