Story
Hey… I’m Brooks. I’ve been on quite the journey. For a while, I had a home. Then somehow, I didn’t. I spent nearly two whole years missing, figuring things out on my own. It wasn’t easy—but I made it through. The rescue couldn't reach the owner listed on my microchip, but the emergency contact said my owner was irresponsible and had moved on from me... And you know what? I’m still a really, really good boy. I’m about 6 years old, which means I’ve outgrown the wild kitten chaos and settled into my best self. I’m sweet, gentle, and just happy to be safe again. I’m the kind of cat who will quietly keep you company, soak up your love, and remind you every day how special a second chance can be. I didn’t get the stability I deserved before… but I’m ready for it now. What I’m looking for is simple: A safe home. A kind human. A fresh start where I never have to wonder if I’ll be forgotten again. If you’ve got room in your heart for a cat who’s been through a lot—but still has so much love to give… I’ve been waiting for you. —Brooks Brooks was previously neutered, and we updated his vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, microchipped, dewormed, and received flea prevention. Brooks is currently housed at our adoption center at PetSmart in Northeast Philadelphia (7422 Bustleton Avenue). Ready to apply: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/OOTW/Cat

Story
Meet Hunk — the cat the system failed… but who still believes in love. Hunk is 9 years old. He was adopted from a high-volume city shelter last August. Just two months later… he was found outside, begging at one of our foster’s back door. We thought this would be a happy reunion—he was microchipped, after all. But when we contacted the registered owners, they denied ever having him. So Hunk was left behind. Again. We took him in, determined to give him the second chance he deserved. Right away we figured out Hunk was amazing but he was struggling with diarrhea. After months of back and forth to the vet—including bloodwork, fecal testing, and ultrasound, then diet trials, deworming, and other medications—we’ve learned he likely has inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or small cell lymphoma. We did try steroid treatment, but unfortunately it made his symptoms worse, so he has since been weaned off. Right now, our focus is keeping him comfortable and happy. There is another treatment option—an oral, at-home chemotherapy medication—but we feel that decision should be made by his adopter, as it requires ongoing commitment and consideration. And here’s the thing… despite everything he’s been through— Hunk is truly incredible. He is extremely sweet, affectionate, and people-oriented; a professional hugger who loves to be close to his humans; great with other cats; happy, social, and eating well; and consistently uses the litter box (even with soft stool). He is not broken. He is not “too much.” He is a cat who has been let down by people… and is still choosing to love anyway. We are looking for a hospice-style home where Hunk can spend whatever time he has left feeling safe, comfortable, and deeply loved. Hunk may not have gotten the life he deserved up until now—but we can still change his ending. If you can open your heart and home to Hunk, please submit an adoption application. Let’s make sure he never has to wonder if he’s wanted again.

Story
Hi, I’m Hope — and I live up to my name every single day. Hope was found outside by a Good Samaritan, and from the moment she was safe, she showed just how special she is. This sweet, slightly chubby girl is equal parts playful goofball and cuddle bug. Hope is: Super friendly, playful and curious, and a total snuggle enthusiast. She’s the kind of cat who will chase a toy one minute… and then curl up next to you like she’s always belonged there the next. Hope would do great in a home that wants a loving, interactive companion — she truly enjoys being part of the action and being with her people. She’s not just looking for a home — she’s bringing love, comfort, and a whole lot of personality with her. Hope is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and has received deworming and flea/tick prevention. Online application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/OOTW/Cat

Story
Meet Spunky — the name says it all, but his heart is even bigger than his personality. Spunky came from a rough outdoor situation where many cats had unexplained wounds… but somehow, he came out of it with nothing but love to give. This boy didn’t let his past harden him — instead, it made him even sweeter. Spunky is: incredibly friendly, always ready for pets and attention, the kind of cat who greets you like you’re his favorite person (because you are). He’s the definition of a “why am I still here?” cat — the one everyone assumes will be scooped up immediately… but somehow hasn’t been yet. After everything he’s been through, Spunky is more than ready to trade outdoor survival for a cozy couch, a family to adore, and a safe, warm place to finally relax Spunky would thrive in just about any loving home where he can soak up attention and finally live the indoor life he deserves. Spunky has done his time outside — now he’s ready for his forever. Spunky is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and has received deworming and flea/tick prevention. Hello! I am surrounding my kitty because I have moved with my sister and she is highly allergic even with special foods or medications for him it is not enough it saddens me that it is this way because he is definitely the light of my life but I cannot move forward with him unfortunately. He will be an amazing addition to his new family he is sweet smart and outgoing with anyone, timid and shy at first to anyone but does love other cats so that would be great to have a buddy. He is playful but also can be calm and relaxing most of the time. Is a love bug doesnt like to be picked up but enjoys pets and snuggles. Also loves his treats of course! He is 5 years old and a good healthy boy. Thank you he is free just looking for a loving family that can take great care of him
