Story
Meet Napa! This love bug was adopted from us as a kitten in 2021, and somehow he ended up brought to a local shelter as a stray. The finder found him 45 minutes away from where he was previously living, and his owner has not returned any calls to take him back. Well, we can't let this be his story...he deserves a forever home with a family that will show him unconditional love. We have no idea how such a sweet, charming, friendly guy would end up on the street. We had previously neutered Napa when he was a kitten; his vaccines have been updated and he has been given flea prevention/deworming just in case! Have you considered giving a home to a cat in need? Because this one truly is a winner! Napa is currently residing at our adoption center in PetSmart in Northeast Philadelphia (7422 Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia PA 19152). Story
Meet Hunk — the cat the system failed… but who still believes in love. Hunk is 9 years old. He was adopted from a high-volume city shelter last August. Just two months later… he was found outside, begging at one of our foster’s back door. We thought this would be a happy reunion—he was microchipped, after all. But when we contacted the registered owners, they denied ever having him. So Hunk was left behind. Again. We took him in, determined to give him the second chance he deserved. Right away we figured out Hunk was amazing but he was struggling with diarrhea. After months of back and forth to the vet—including bloodwork, fecal testing, and ultrasound, then diet trials, deworming, and other medications—we’ve learned he likely has inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or small cell lymphoma. We did try steroid treatment, but unfortunately it made his symptoms worse, so he has since been weaned off. Right now, our focus is keeping him comfortable and happy. There is another treatment option—an oral, at-home chemotherapy medication—but we feel that decision should be made by his adopter, as it requires ongoing commitment and consideration. And here’s the thing… despite everything he’s been through— Hunk is truly incredible. He is extremely sweet, affectionate, and people-oriented; a professional hugger who loves to be close to his humans; great with other cats; happy, social, and eating well; and consistently uses the litter box (even with soft stool). He is not broken. He is not “too much.” He is a cat who has been let down by people… and is still choosing to love anyway. We are looking for a hospice-style home where Hunk can spend whatever time he has left feeling safe, comfortable, and deeply loved. Hunk may not have gotten the life he deserved up until now—but we can still change his ending. If you can open your heart and home to Hunk, please submit an adoption application. Let’s make sure he never has to wonder if he’s wanted again.

Story
Meet Spunky — the name says it all, but his heart is even bigger than his personality. Spunky came from a rough outdoor situation where many cats had unexplained wounds… but somehow, he came out of it with nothing but love to give. This boy didn’t let his past harden him — instead, it made him even sweeter. Spunky is: incredibly friendly, always ready for pets and attention, the kind of cat who greets you like you’re his favorite person (because you are). He’s the definition of a “why am I still here?” cat — the one everyone assumes will be scooped up immediately… but somehow hasn’t been yet. After everything he’s been through, Spunky is more than ready to trade outdoor survival for a cozy couch, a family to adore, and a safe, warm place to finally relax Spunky would thrive in just about any loving home where he can soak up attention and finally live the indoor life he deserves. Spunky has done his time outside — now he’s ready for his forever. Spunky is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and has received deworming and flea/tick prevention. Miller

American Shorthair

Male, Kitten
Merchantville, NJ

Good with cats, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Miller is estimated to be between 7-9 months old. He was found on the streets and surrendered. Miller has been diagnosed with CH (Cerebellar Hypoplasia / wobbly cat syndrome ). This is a non-progressive neurological condition in cats born with an underdeveloped cerebellum, the part of the brain controlling balance and coordination. He is making progress with getting around, and working out what works for him. The litter box is still a struggle. He makes a great effort to get to the box, but because of his condition it has been difficult. He’s is incredibly affectionate and playful. He’s also a very determined little guy. Miller would benefit from an experienced adopter who is familiar with this condition. Or someone who is understanding of the responsibility they are taking on.

Story
We have had Fiona for just shy of 10 years. She was a very timid cat when we first adopted her-she was rescued from a construction site when she was a kitten. It took awhile for her to warm up but when she finally did, she was such a snuggle baby! She loves nothing more than being pet and cuddled and will lick you to show she loves you. Before we had our daughter, she would come out all the time and be very playful. She also gets along with our other cat, who is male. Since having our daughter, who runs around wildly, Fiona prefers to stay behind the couch or in one of her hiding spots and only comes out after our daughter goes to bed. We are expecting another child and we do not feel it is fair to Fiona to be in a home with two little ones running around. She would do best in a home with a calm atmosphere and we hope we can find the perfect match for her soon!
