Story
SCRUFFY is one of the friendliest cats we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting! He’ll follow you around, supervise everything you do, and happily flop onto the floor in anticipation of belly rubs. He is very high energy and very playful. He had a long upper respiratory infection at some point in his past, which left him with a few adorable quirks. He has corneal fibrosis—some scar tissue on his eyes that does not affect his well-being and requires no treatment. He’s also chronically “snuffly,” which honestly adds significantly to his charm. You can hear SCRUFFY coming from a mile away!
SCRUFFY will be having a dental procedure, and once he’s recovered, he’ll be all set for his forever home. He could live happily with dogs or another sturdy, playful cat. He likes to play rough, so a confident feline friend would be the best match. Because he sometimes gives love nibbles when he wants attention, we do not recommend him for a home with children.
If you’re looking for a loving, goofy, snuffly little shadow who wants to be part of everything you do, SCRUFFY might be your guy! He is already neutered, up to date on vaccines, and litter box trained. He has tested negative for FIV and FelV. eDOB 10/6/2018

SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR A MEET AND GREET:
- To submit an application directly, go to: animals-in-distress.org/adoptions
- As part of our adoption process, we ask all potential adopters to complete an application before scheduling any meet and greets. The application helps us learn more about you and what you're looking for (so we can determine whether we may have a good match). Our goal is to ensure the best possible lifelong match for both our cats and adopters. After reviewing your application, we'll follow up to let you know the next steps. - If the animal you are interested in is part of a bonded pair, please only submit an application if you are considering adopting both.
ADOPTION PROCESS AND FEES
- You must be 21 years or older to adopt.
- There is an application and approval process.
- Once approved, the adoption fee is $150 per cat.
ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:
- Testing for FeLV and FIV
- FVRCP/Distemper & Rabies vaccines (For kittens under 12 weeks, adopter is responsible for final FVRCP and Rabies)
- Spay or neuter of the cat
- Microchipping
We reserve the right to deny any application and our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis. Our purpose is to find the best match for the cats in our care.
