Story
Lenny is a wonderful and sweet cat. She came to our family after a neighbor was going to get rid of her. I was worried for her safety so I took her in. When I took her in I was unaware she had a littermate she lived with who was later given up to somebody else. Lenny really needs a playmate. I have a 14 year old black lab that has no interest in playing with a young cat. My family and I aren’t home a lot and unfortunately nobody has much of an opportunity to spend quality time with Lenny. We love her a lot and have come to grow very fond of her but I truly believe she’d be much happier with another young cat to play with and keep her company. I rent and unfortunately cannot have more than 2 pets. I’m looking for a loving family that might be in a similar situation as mine, where they have a young cat that could use a housemate to play and grow with. She’s very sweet with my son (7 years old). It took her a few days to get used to my large dog but she’s been great with her since.

I was surrendered to HAWS because my person is moving and I'm not allowed to join them so I am hoping that will never happen again to me. If you have a house with another cat, I might be the perfect addition if we are properly introduced. I live in the Small Colony Room at HAWS with another cat and we happily coexist. Hi, I'm Derek and I am a handsome guy with a luxurious, soft coat you have got to pet! When you come to meet me, I'm the first guy on the right when you enter the cat adoption room. I'd like to think you could stop looking but I won't mind if you say HI to the other cats and come back. You might walk by me because I am not at my "finest looking stage in life" that's because I had double eyelid surgery and they shaved me above my eyes. I'm feeling great and I'm ready to move into a loving home. I think I'm a lucky guy because I was chosen to be transferred to HAWS from a crowded shelter and received the surgery I needed to make me comfortable.
