Story
Puppies are magnificent! I am cute, rambunctious, lively and fun. I have so much to learn, discover and explore - just a tiny sponge who is ready to absorb everything you have to teach me and show me. I am counting on you to help me safely navigate the world and experience new things each day to allow me to grow into a confident young dog. That isn't as exotic and daunting a task as it might sound. Each day I just need to be introduced to one new thing like the sound of a vacuum, a blender or a door bell, walking up and down a step, a ride in a car, hearing a motorcycle or a truck, going somewhere to see new people, even maneuvering a fallen log on a walk. You get the idea, so many things that seem common to you are completely new to me. Speaking of growing, I may be tiny now but I do plan on getting bigger so I would love to take obedience classes to learn proper manners and social skills. I also know I have to practice something called house-training so I know proper potty behavior. A routine and lots of yummy treats and praise will go a long way to helping me master house-training when I potty outside. Puppies and dogs need love, exercise, mental stimulation and consistency to be healthy, happy and confident. I am typically very open to all sorts of housemates; I can be a bit mischievous and may find any other critter as a potential playmate so they will need to understand that about me. I often explore the world with my mouth and while I am teething I like to chew; my little puppy teeth are very sharp so if I am around children we should always be supervised. It is important that children learn about respecting me, too, and treat me gently because I am fragile. Raising a puppy is a big responsibility, a lot of work, and it may interrupt your sleep cycle for a bit, but a courteous and well-behaved dog is certainly worth the investment and I promise to be loyal, love you unconditionally and be a companion forever. I just know I will bring joy and laughter into your home and cannot wait to meet you. Let the adventures begin!

Story
Follow us on Facebook for updated photos and more information on our adoptable pets! Need a traveling buddy or a couch potato? Well look no further! Gracie is a 9 Catahoula leopard mix, her favorite time is that spent with humans. Either laying around or playing in the yard. As long as shes got her people she's 100% happy! With that being said Gracie has had some challenges along the way, she is completely deaf, but don't let that be the reason you're not adopting her! She knows some basic hand signs, She does good with children. Gracie would prefer a home with no other animals. She has no experience with cats. Gracie needs a fenced yard or a way to keep her safe outside since she's deaf. She is potty trained and crate trained. Gracie is UTD on vaccines and is spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is 400.00 plus tax. Lucky Paws Midwest is licensed and inspected by the State of Wisconsin: 402655-DS

Story
Bleu is listed on our web site as a courtesy post for his current owner. He is not part of Rescued Tails Animal Sanctuary, but we are helping his owner find him a new home. Please contact Jeanne at jeannekvam@yahoo.com  or call her at  612-280-3859   to find out more about Bleu. The following is written by Bleau's owner: Bleu is approximately 3 years and 8 months of age. He is very good with young children and learns to leave cats alone. He is energetic and loves to do 360 degree flips. He has been to training, and he knows many commands: off, stay, sit, drop, wait, spin,  come and more. He also knows hand signals. He  uses a training collar that sends impulses not shocks. The trainer said he is probably part Catahoula Leopard with one blue and one brown eye. He is loving and stays out of trouble for the most part. If left alone for a while he kennels very well. He has a big heart and came from a very bad situation. I have had him for 3 years. The issue is that he does not get a long with my resident Blue Tick Coon Hound. Otherwise I would keep him. He would do best with room to run. When he has gotten out of my yard he has always come back if in ear shot and called. He loves car rides. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 12, 2024, 12:09 am

Story
We adopted Annie from Fetch 3 years ago when she was 4 months old. She does great in the car and loves to explore! She's and independent girl who loves to zoom around the backyard but can also be incredibly lazy. She sleeps for most of the day but does like to go on long walks and play fetch. Once it gets dark out, you can find her curled up in bed or on the couch for the rest of the night. She can be reactive towards new dogs and people so it's best to give Annie space from others when out on a walk and slow introductions are best. Annie does get along with some dogs and loves to play when she does! She's best friends with two huskies that live next door and loves to play with dogs while at the sitters. She's kennel trained and won't make a peep when she's in there. We're looking to start a family in the near future and are unable to have a reactive dog around a newborn so we're trying to find the best home for her.

Story
Meet Atlas. While his DNA is very rich in dog breeds (18 actually), his appearance is quite unique, with two breeds as the main standouts. His face and ear structure look mostly Pitbull, but his "glass eyes", height, thick body (about 65 lbs), and mottled coat are distinct characteristics of his distant Catahoula Leopard dog relatives. Atlas loves a good cuddle and is the best hugger. Although he can be a little stand-offish around strangers at first, he warms up quickly to people of all ages. He does well with children and with other dogs that do not have as dominant of a personality as his own. He loves hikes, exploring, runs/walks, chasing balls and frisbees, playing tug, and chewing on toys. He will dig from boredom if he is left alone outside for long periods of time without sufficient engagement. He knows a few commands but usually prefers to perform for treats. Atlas is an affectionate, active dog that needs an equally loving and active family to meet his emotional and physical needs.   If you would like to make this amazing guy part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/ Atlas is located in Alabama and available for transport. Friends of Rescue requires a virtual home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions. All Friends of Rescue animals are indoor family members.
