Story
Savannah's and Charlotte's mom was hospitalized and these babies were left in a kennel in the home only being fed a few times a week. These babies were found in filth but when we got them, they were scared but very sweet and I think they new they were rescued. Inside, Savannah is the more shy of the two, as well as being smaller than her sister. But outside, Savannah is your protector, she will alert you to people and animals on your property :) If you are interested in adopting Charlotte and Savannah, please complete an application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FFRF/Dog

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Max is an approx. 1yo, 14-lb tri-color chihuahua mix. He is an adorable medium-to-high energy young boy with a sweet, expressive face and an irresistible smile. He is equal parts playful puppy and affectionate cuddle bug, always happy to follow his person around the house before curling up beside them—or even falling asleep in their arms. Like any young pup, Max has a mischievous streak and enjoys collecting things to chew on, so he'll need appropriate toys and a watchful eye while he continues learning good puppy manners. He is now house trained - he had accidents when he first arrived in his foster home, but he hasn't had an accident in several weeks. He is very food motivated, making him a great candidate for positive reinforcement training. Max is walking great on leash now, he is only a bit hesitant when the harness goes on. Max loves toys, especially chew toys and soft squeaky toys, and enjoys running, wrestling, and playing chase with other friendly dogs. He is currently living happily with another young small dog and would likely enjoy a canine playmate. He would also do well as the center of someone's attention, as long as they would be able to socialize him regularly with friends'/relatives' young, playful dogs.  He is curious but non-aggressive with cats. He is fine with kids, but due to his bitey playfulness and puppy energy, it would be best if they were older. He also will grab and chew shoes, socks and pillows - so some training for him would be best. He rides quietly and calmly in the back seat of the car safely tethered in, loves spending time outdoors, and is especially happy stretching out in the sunshine for a good sunbath. This active boy will need a fenced yard to run and play in. At night, Max sleeps comfortably in bed with his person or in his own bed nearby. He has no known medical issues. His foster family loves Max for his adorable smile, funny puppy antics, affectionate personality, and the way he brightens every room with his sweet, charming nature. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Max, please complete an app and tell us more about your family.August 6, 2026, 9:03 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application Meet TJ! TJ is a 3-year-old Chihuahua weighing just 4.3 pounds, but this tiny guy has a heart full of love just waiting for the right person to discover it. TJ gets along well with other dogs, especially those his own size. Larger dogs can be a little intimidating for him, so he'd be happiest in a home with small canine companions or as your one-and-only little shadow. He enjoys playing with other small dogs but also appreciates having his own quiet space.A naturally shy boy, TJ needs a patient adopter who will give him time to build trust and confidence. Once he feels safe, his sweet personality begins to shine. He's crate trained and prefers to sleep in his cozy crate, but don't be surprised when he comes looking for snuggles once you've earned his trust.TJ is currently working on his house training and is making great progress. He's also undergoing treatment for Lyme disease and is doing wonderfully. He is not showing any symptoms and it does not slow him down. We don't know what this tiny little guy experienced before coming into rescue, but we do know his future deserves to be filled with love, kindness, and security. TJ is looking for a special person who will help him continue building confidence and show him what it truly means to be part of a family.TJ is up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and fully vetted, making him ready to find his forever home. If you have room in your heart for a little dog who just needs someone to believe in him, TJ is waiting to meet you.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 6, 2026, 6:01 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! ***Solid Gold Pets (sister company of Zesty Paws) is offering a one-year supply of dog food to Reece Cup's adopter.*** Reece Cup is an approx. 3yo, 19lb. female chihuahua mix curly-tail cutie, and is a super sweet and easy going medium-energy gal. She loves just curling up next to you for a belly rub. Her foster mom says she is one of the most loving and sweet dogs with people. She is good with other dogs after giving them a short time to get to know each other.      She is house and crate trained. She’s a quiet girl who rarely barks and she sleeps through the night. She loves sleeping with her people at night, and will sometimes climb into bed for a daytime nap.  She walks well on a leash but loves a yard to roll around and sun bathe in.  She is also still learning how to play. She will tug on a rope toy or play with another dog, but only for a few minutes and then she wants her human’s attention.  She’s good with dogs and cats (cat curious) and hasn’t met a human she doesn’t give a kiss to. She is super food motivated and loves getting treats; a slow feeder bowl has helped curb her enthusiasm during meal times. When it’s time for a car ride, she doesn’t get excited or anxious during the trip. When she came to Lil Rascals, it was noticed that she was limping on her right back leg. So we had our rehab vet examine her, and it was determined that she has luxating patellas in her back legs, with the right leg being the worst of the two. This condition is when the kneecap pops out of its normal groove, causing a “skipping” gait.  Her rehab vet has her on a daily home exercise routine to strengthen the ligaments surrounding the knee; her forever person will need to continue these easy 10-minute exercises forever to keep her muscles strong to help support her joints.  She is currently taking an anti-inflammatory and joint supplements. She can enjoy light play and short walks, but high impact activity should be avoided. Reece Cup is also heartworm positive at this time, and is on the slow kill protocol, which we can explain that process to any interested applicant. She can enjoy regular activities. Heart worm disease is contracted from an infected mosquito and can not be transmitted to another dog. Reece Cup is a sweet girl who just needs some extra daily care in her routine, but she is definitely worth it. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Reece Cup, complete an app and tell us more about you.  August 6, 2026, 9:03 pm
