Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. PJ came to PRBJ when his family had to move and they were unable to take him. He is a shy dog that takes some time to warm up to new people. He is not used to being on a leash and does have some accidents inside. We are working to get him potty trained outside. Going out with another dog is a big help for him as he tends to imitate .  Due to his nervous behavior, we are recommending an adult only home with someone who is patient and willing to give PJ the time he needs to come out of his little shell.   PJ is an eager companion who wants to follow you everywhere (and will try to slip out the door with you).   He will give your hand kisses but he does not like to be picked up or petted.      Foster update:  He likes to be close to people but not necessarily to be touched.   He will shriek if you try to pet him when he does not want to be.    We have been working on "touch" training.   We say kiss or touch and he comes up and boops our hand.   Sometimes he lets us scratch his chin or pet his head when he is doing this.    Although he does not like petting/being held, he does have some separation anxiety and wants to know where you are.   He loves chewing on bones such as nylabones and benebones and is quite the strong  chewer. PJ really is a delightful little guy who would be an ideal companion for somebody who understands that although he loves to be with you, he does not want to be treated like a little dog to be held and cuddled.   He would love someone to keep company at home. PJ needs:    Fenced yard                     Adult only household                     Patience He spooks fairly easily and needs to be on a leash or in a fenced yard as he can slip out of his collar. We recommend a slip leash or harness as he would be very difficult to catch...running away is his first instinct.    He does not like being picked up. He can be very underfoot - on or off leash, so this is something to consider for anyone not steady on their feet. He is not fully housetrained, but is learning the concept of going outside.  Because he does not like the leash we would recommend that he have a home with a fenced yard where he can be let outside to continue on his housetraining.   PJ can tend to get distracted and forget why he is outside so it's best to supervise whether he has gone or not!   His crate is left open when he is not in it and he likes to go lay in it, especially in the evenings before bed time.   His foster home has small and larger dogs and he is not a huge fan of the big dogs if they are running around. He has been sleeping in a dog bed in the bedroom at night.   We do close the door or he likes to wander.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 8, 2025, 3:01 pm

Story
We adopted Tito when he was 8 weeks old. He is 10 years old now and born on 07/23/2014. He is the very definition of a lap dog! He is very sweet once he warms up to you and would even sleep in a bed with you if you’d allow it. He has been living with another dog for most of his life so he gets along with some dogs. It’s been a long time since he’s been around cats but he was fine with them. We have a 13 month old baby at home and Tito is not a fan of him. We are rehoming him for his sanity and peace as well as our child’s safety. Although Tito has growled at our baby he does not bite him. He’s on a senior dog diet and takes a thyroid tablet everyday.

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! NOTE:  Lacey and Cagney must be adopted together. My name is Lacey and I’m part of the Cagney and Lacey duo. I came from Georgia with my baby Cagney. Well, she’s not a baby anymore! We lived in a home where the people never let us go outside. We never saw anyone other than the person who fed us. But despite that, we are both housebroken and really need to stay together. I’m 10 lbs., and 7 years old, but I’m told that’s not old. I don’t feel old and I’m told I’m a healthy chihuahua mix. I take a minute to warm up to new people, but then I’m your best buddy! I love my food, treats and of course, attention! I’m learning to walk on a leash, and I’m great in the car (in a crate of course). I get along with every dog I’ve met, big and small. I’m not pushy, and will give everyone their space. I haven’t been around little kids but I love older kids. I promise we will love you forever! If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area believe you have the perfect home for Cagney and Lacey, please submit an app and tell us more about your family.May 30, 2025, 9:38 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! NOTE: Romeo and Lady are bonded and must be adopted together. Romeo is a male 8-9yo longhair chihuahua/beagle/pomeranian mix who weighs 10 1/2 pounds. He is absolutely beautiful with pure white and auburn fur and a beautiful plume of white tail. No wonder Lady loves him so much! He loves to give kisses to his sister Lady and she kisses him back. It’s so adorable!  Romeo is a happy friendly guy, he loves to play with his foster buddies especially Lady doing zoomies, playing with toys, chewing on Himalayan cheese sticks, and wrestling in the fenced backyard. Afterwards, he and Lady will always be seen snuggled up together for a little nap. Romeo is always making sure he knows where lady is and that she’s OK. He loves people, sleeps quietly all night in a large, open crate with Lady. Romeo and Lady are both house trained, although Romeo will most likely mark in the beginning. He rides quietly in the car and walks well on a leash. He prefers to be outside and run with his buddies in the yard. Romeo will need slow introductions when meeting new dogs, as he tends to be a little protective of Lady. Romeo is an absolute sweetheart - very affectionate and cuddly.    Lady is such an adorable little sweetie. She weighs 12 pounds and is also 8-9yo. She is the sister of Romeo. Lady is sweet, friendly, happy and super affectionate. She just wants to sit on your lap and give you kisses. Lady sleeps during the night quietly with Romeo in a large open crate. She loves to play with all her foster buddies and Romeo, but at the end of the day when they’re done playing, she will always be found snuggled up to Romeo. She is house trained, walks well on a leash and rides quietly in the car. She enjoys Himalayan cheese sticks and toys. She loves to play with all the other fosters, but especially Romeo. She is friendly with all dogs and all people. Lady and Romeo would be a great addition to any loving, caring family. Both will need daily brushing and regular grooming to keep their beautiful coats in tip-top condition.   If you believe you have the perfect home for Lady and Romeo, and you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area, please complete an app and tell us more about you. Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Blaze is an approx 7 to 8-year-old, 6-7lb. chihuahua mix. He is a cuddle bug who loves the warmth of your lap. Once he is comfortable with his person, he is quite dedicated. He can be very boisterous at times; he has a big voice for a little guy. At bedtime he loves to sleep under the covers cuddled next to you in your bed.  He loves soft squeaky toys and will often be seen with two in his mouth and trying for a third. He will snatch a toy from other dogs whether large or small and will quickly run away with it. Although not aggressive, he is assertive and tries to be the number one dog, pushing his tiny self in front of the other dogs to be first in line for toys or treats. He does well for a bath. Blaze is working on potty training; and he currently wears a belly band due to occasional marking. He needs someone who is home often to continue his potty training with taking him out often. He gets along well with other small dogs and with a slow, supervised introduction, large dogs too. He walks well on a leash but will bark at other dogs and wants to give chase to anything that he sees moving. He rides in a dog stroller just fine and does well when other dogs are in the stroller with him.  He is good with meeting new people. During car rides, he likes to look out the window, but he needs a secure tether as he prefers sitting in your lap. Blaze is a wonderful little dog with a cutest personality. Due to his small size, we are requiring an all-adult home for him. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Blaze, please complete and app and tell us more about you.   June 14, 2025, 11:47 am
