Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Janet is a very small, wiry, little chihuahua mix. She is around 1 year old and weighs around 5-6lbs. She had a very rough start in life. She and her brother Jack came from a hoarding situation and they had very little human contact. Janet needs a patient, experienced dog family to show her the ropes. She can be fearful at first, but warms up in a few days or so. She may react with barking at strangers. She gets along with all of the other small dogs in her foster family – young and old alike. She is cat friendly. When she feels confident, she is the sweetest little girl in the world. She walks well on a leash. She does moderately well in a crate and will be quiet after some time. Janet loves all treats and loves to play with toys. Her absolute favorite is a sock to carry around. She is very proud of that trophy! She will do best with someone who is home most of the time. She is such a loving, kind, funny little dog. She is scared of men and needs an all-adult, female-only home where she can blossom and root for a lifetime. She has so much to offer! If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area, and believe you have the perfect home for Janet, please complete an application and tell us more about you.  May 4, 2024, 10:01 am

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! NOTE: Bambi and Bowie are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Bambi is a playful, loveble tiny little girl that wants nothing more than to sit on her human’s lap and give kisses. She is a small chihuahua mix weighing 5 1/2 lbs, and we are estimating her to be around 2 years old. Bambi was found as a stray in a park with her brother Bowie. Bambi’s first concern is Bowie’s safety and comfort. She watches out for him. But don’t let this “fawn like” creature fool you. She is a mighty little chihuahua. She does not like strangers, at first. And she does not like children. But she warms up quickly and in about 10 minutes was friends with her foster mom, climbing up on her lap for pets. Bambi and Bowie do need to be fed separately. She will take his food; and he will gladly give it to her if they are not supervised. Bambi is house trained and crate trained; and is able to be left alone without an issue. We are not sure if Bambi likes cats, but she is small dog friendly, and she plays with her foster fur siblings.  Bambi appears to be afraid of men, but with some love and patience she will warm up to whoever loves on her. Bambi is easy to handle on a leash when walked.  Due to Bambi’s small size, we are requiring an all-adult home for her, as well as a secure fenced-in yard. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Bowie and Bambi, please send in an application and let us know more your family.May 4, 2024, 10:01 am

Story
My wife had Prince since he was a couple of months (he's now 12 years old). He's playful and has a lot of energy. The only reason why we want to rehome him is because we have 2 babies and it has become overwhelming for us.

Story
Meet Millie!  She is an 8 pound chihuahua that was found as a stray.  She is as sweet and harmless as they come!  Millie is about 9 years old and is a happy and spirited girl who loves all animals and all people.  She is thin and needs groceries and is on a de-worming schedule that will help with her weight gain.  Mille is vaccinated and will be spayed once she is fully wormed and ready.  Her adopter MUST bring her to her spay appointment, no exceptions.  Adoption fee and contract required. Story
Rocko is a 3-year-old Chihuahua weighing approximately 10 pounds. His owner was moving and unable to bring him. She said he was fearful and unsocialized. He would frequently hide from them. He has improved greatly with us, but he still is not totally trusting. He will need someone who will take it slow with him and be patient. He may snap and try to nip until he gets to know you and trust you. We think he will be best for someone with a fenced yard. He likes to walk on a leash but it's best to get to know him in a fenced yard then leashing him will be more comfortable for everyone. He has bonded with our rescue manager. It just takes him a little time. If you are tender-hearted and can go slow, please come meet this boy a few times. He will be worth the wait. He tends to attach to one person and they can do no wrong in his eyes. He is affectionate but when he has enough, he will let you know. He has to be the only pet. His adoption donation is $150 which includes his neuter, vaccinations, microchip. He is heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. He will blossom into a lovable, friendly boy so please give him a chance https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/Project/rocko/

Story
Prince is a 6-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing approximately 15 pounds.  He has been with us for over 2 years.  He was so scared and unsocialized when we first got him.  He was living in a barn with no human contact.  He has come a long way and we feel he would benefit greatly from a foster home. He doesn’t like to be confined and will bark and growl at you when you close the gate to his room. He still doesn’t trust people but he has improved greatly.  We’re hoping he will blossom in a foster home.  Please help him to become the “Prince Charming” he’s meant to be. https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/Project/prince/ We are only able to adopt within the state of Florida. We have a page on our website that explains our adoption process, and contains a link to our adoption application. Here is the link: http://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/adoption-information-2/
