Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Rocket is one of the happiest little chihuahuas you will ever meet. This cute 4-year-old little guy came to Lil Rascals weighing only 4 lbs., but he has now doubled his weight to more than 8 lbs. and gained tons of confidence. Rocket is super smart, and just the most cuddliest boy ever. He loves to snuggle up against you, nuzzling into your neck. He currently lives with several other fur siblings - dogs and a cat - and does great with all of them. He prefers to hang out with his fur friends and follows them during back yard explorations. But sometimes he hangs out with one of his foster sisters, who we think has a little bit of a crush on him. Rocket is house trained, and he quietly stands by the back door to indicate when he needs to go out. He has adjusted to wearing a harness, and is still a little leery of walking on a leash, but with practice he should do well. Rocket came to our rescue with limited vision, so he had a visit with our eye specialist and it was determined that he has Progressive Retinal Atrophy, in which the retina slowly deteriorates and he eventually becomes blind. His retina is much thinner than it should be and the blood vessels are tiny. This is a hereditary condition, but is not painful. Despite his condition, he is just the happiest little boy. He is extremely smart; he “sees” with his ears and nose, and quickly maps out his domain after which he has no issues navigating. He follows his fur siblings outside and he is comfortable running outside during daytime when the bright light allows him to see shadows better - just take a look at his video. He should be fed separately to keep others from eating his food. Rocket will do best an uncluttered environment, with a laid-back companion dog that will help him build his self-confidence in his new surroundings. He will come with his favorite bed and blanket.  We are requiring an adult-only home for him and a fenced yard where he can walk around freely. This sweetheart of a dog has so much love to give. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Rocket, please complete an app and tell us more about your family.   October 24, 2025, 11:50 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Meet Cline - a very cute, playful and happy boy.  Clint is a 6-year-old Chi mix weighing 13 1/2 pounds. He loves playing with his foster fur buddies in the yard chasing each other and doing zoomies. Clint is so affectionate and a little kissy face. He loves to cuddle right next to you with three of his other fur friends on your lap. He just loves other dogs. He is friendly to all and respectful of their needs. He is a bubbly, good natured little guy. His greatest love is chewing on his knuckle bones and he will do anything for a treat. Clint’s house training is a work in progress, but with frequent yard outings and potty pads he is improving. He also can wear a belly band and he does poop outside. Clint is fearful and has not learned to walk on a leash as of yet, so he does need patience and training for that. And since he doesn't walk on leash yet, he does need a fenced yard so he can run and do his business. He is a good car rider, but he was in a crate at that time so we are not sure how he would do out of the crate. He sleeps quietly all night and needs to cuddle with other dogs. He would thrive in a household with fun active dogs. Clint is shy at first meeting, but warms up quickly. He is a great little dog and looks forward to his loving, forever home. He’s a little love bug. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Clint, complete an app and tell us more about you. December 6, 2025, 4:43 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Hey ladies, are you in the market for a new best gal pal?? Look no further than Miss Pearl! Pearl is approximately 2 years old, weighs 15 lbs. and we believe she is a chihuahua mix. Pearl was thankfully saved when a couple found her running stray along a busy highway in GA. She was so scared and timid upon arrival, but her personality has already started to blossom after just a few weeks! Pearl has so much love to give. Her perfect day would be snuggling on the couch with you alllll day, watching movies or bingeing your favorite shows and napping. She loves belly rubs, giving kisses, and being pet. She mostly keeps to herself around the other dogs and kitty in her foster home, but doesn’t mind their presence. Sadly, Pearl is still very timid around men, so needs a woman as her main caretaker. Right off the bat, she loved her foster mom and any new women that she has met, and she has made huge strides with her foster dad, but is still skiddish. She is never reactive, only very scared. Loud noises and chaos also scare her, so we think she would be happiest and most comfortable in an adult-only, calmer home. Pearl is house trained and can easily be crated, although she doesn’t need to be. She currently does her business in her foster's fenced yard. She doesn't really need the crate, and would be totally fine just napping on the couch or in a dog bed when you aren't home. She recently got the special treat of sleeping in the big human bed, and she absolutely loved it— she crawled right under the covers to snuggle all night! She doesn't seem to know what toys are, and does well riding in a car with maybe a bit of nervousness. We are requiring a fenced yard for her because she is terrified of walking on a leash. She needs someone who can slowly get her used to being comfortable on a leash. If you can give her just a little time and patience to trust you, Pearl will give you back 10x the love she receives.  If you believe you have the perfect home for Pearl, and you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area, complete and app and tell us more about you. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application Meet Charlie – A Gentle Soul Ready to BloomHi, I’m Charlie, a three-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix with a heart full of hope. I currently weigh 10 lbs so yes, I am a little guy. I came from a hoarding situation where I lived with 29 other dogs, and because we were very neglected, I didn’t know what it felt like to be loved or cared for by humans. But everything changed when I went to live with my foster family. Each day, I warm up a little more. I’m still a bit nervous, but I love being near my humans, and I’m learning that people can be kind and safe.I get along well with other dogs and am slowly discovering the joy of toys—something completely new to me! My foster mom says I’m a sweet, smart boy who’s trying very hard. I’m not fully housebroken yet, but I’m making great progress and improving every day.I’m looking for a patient, understanding family who will give me the time I need to trust and blossom. Because I’m still learning about the world, a home without small children would be best for me. With love, patience, and gentle guidance, I promise I will become the perfect companion to join you on all of life’s adventures. I am up-to-date on all my shots, neutered, and microchipped so I am ready to go home to my new family. If you’re interested in adopting me, please visit animaladvocatesfl.org for more information.I can’t wait to meet my forever family.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 3, 2025, 5:33 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Meet little Miss Georgia, a 6-year-old, 11 1/2 pound chihuahua mix of pure sweetness. Georgia is a happy little girl. She has beautiful white fur and big brown eyes. She has such a kind gentleness about her. She is shy initially, but because she is so trusting she easily becomes affectionate and loving and a little cuddle bug. Georgia gets along with all her foster fur siblings. She loves to wrestle with them and run around in the yard. She loves chewing on bones and has no problem sharing them. She will need a fenced yard as she is not yet leash trained. It seems she is fearful of the leash for right now. She sleeps quietly all night with two or three of her other foster buddies all cuddled together. She loves being with them, but I think she really loves her people. She wants to be the one to sit next to you and watch TV, to get the kisses and hugs she’s so craves. Georgia’s house training is a work in progress but with frequent yard outings and potty pads she’s doing really well. She sits quietly on car rides. Georgia is a playful happy little girl. This good girl will give her people so much love and affection. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Georgia, complete an app and tell us more about you.  December 6, 2025, 5:28 pm
