Story
Fluffy is a sweet, loving dog with plenty of energy and an affectionate personality. Through no fault of his own, the past few years have been difficult. Due to changes in his living situation and his original owner’s declining health, he hasn’t received the consistent care and attention he deserves. Fluffy is looking for a patient, loving home where he can finally have stability, kindness, and the time to thrive. He would do best with someone who understands that he may need a little extra patience as he adjusts, but he has so much love to give in return.

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Clint is about 6 1/2 years old and has made an incredible transformation since coming to Lil Rascals. This 13 1/2-lb. chihuahua mix came in as a fear case, but with structure, consistency and training, he’s come out of his shell in the best way—and now he’s ready for a home of his own. Clint is: • Crate trained • Walks well on leash (still a bit fearful at times, but improving!) • A toy lover—he LOVES playing fetch • Good with other dogs, especially his size or smaller • Very food motivated (which makes training fun and rewarding) Clint will do best with someone who continues to build his confidence while giving him structure and guidance. He would also do best with a playmate around his size. He’s come such a long way and is so ready for his next chapter. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Clint, complete an app and tell us more about you.August 19, 2026, 11:30 am

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! ***Solid Gold Pets (sister company of Zesty Paws) is offering a one-year supply of dog food to Reece Cup's adopter.*** Reece Cup is an approx. 3yo, 19lb. female chihuahua mix curly-tail cutie, and is a super sweet and easy going medium-energy gal. She loves just curling up next to you for a belly rub. Her foster mom says she is one of the most loving and sweet dogs with people. She is good with other dogs after giving them a short time to get to know each other.      She is house and crate trained. She’s a quiet girl who rarely barks and she sleeps through the night. She loves sleeping with her people at night, and will sometimes climb into bed for a daytime nap.  She walks well on a leash but loves a yard to roll around and sun bathe in.  She is also still learning how to play. She will tug on a rope toy or play with another dog, but only for a few minutes and then she wants her human’s attention.  She’s good with dogs and cats (cat curious) and hasn’t met a human she doesn’t give a kiss to. She is super food motivated and loves getting treats; a slow feeder bowl has helped curb her enthusiasm during meal times. When it’s time for a car ride, she doesn’t get excited or anxious during the trip. When she came to Lil Rascals, it was noticed that she was limping on her right back leg. So we had our rehab vet examine her, and it was determined that she has luxating patellas in her back legs, with the right leg being the worst of the two. This condition is when the kneecap pops out of its normal groove, causing a “skipping” gait.  Her rehab vet has her on a daily home exercise routine to strengthen the ligaments surrounding the knee; her forever person will need to continue these easy 10-minute exercises forever to keep her muscles strong to help support her joints.  She is currently taking an anti-inflammatory and joint supplements. She can enjoy light play and short walks, but high impact activity should be avoided. Reece Cup is also heartworm positive at this time, and is on the slow kill protocol, which we can explain that process to any interested applicant. She can enjoy regular activities. Heart worm disease is contracted from an infected mosquito and can not be transmitted to another dog. Reece Cup is a sweet girl who just needs some extra daily care in her routine, but she is definitely worth it. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Reece Cup, complete an app and tell us more about you.  August 19, 2026, 11:30 am

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Meet Benji.  This handsome and smiley 7yo, 18-lb. Chihuahua mix just loves life! He is very friendly, loves people and other dogs. He will bark at and chase a cat though if the cat runs. He is mostly leash trained and crate trained. We are working on his potty training, and he is starting to go to the door when he wants to go out, but he does need to be taken out on a regular schedule. He will mark at first, so a belly band is needed for him in the beginning. This sweet boy's most favorite thing in the world to do is to play with another playful dog, so we are wanting a playmate for him, as well as a fenced yard to run and play in. He also loves playing with toys. He is a submissive, easy-going guy. Benji is heartworm positive at this time, and is on the slow kill protocol, which we can explain that process to any interested applicant. He can enjoy regular activities. Heart worm disease is contracted from an infected mosquito and cannot be transmitted to another dog. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Benji, please complete an application and tell us more about your family.      August 19, 2026, 11:30 am

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! This beautiful girl is Roxi. She is 16 years old and weighs about 8 pounds.  We think she is a Chihuahua mix with just a sprinkle of French Bulldog. Roxi was in her first and only home since about 8-weeks old, but due to a change in circumstances her family could no longer keep her.  Roxi is a “young” 16 years and many people are surprised when they learn her age.  She moves well and has excellent eyesight. She may have a little hearing loss, or she may have learned selective hearing when doing so works in her favor. Her teeth are in very good shape, as she recently had a dental with our rescue and one tooth extracted. Roxi does have Stage 1-2 kidney disease and requires a renal diet, but overall she is in good health for a senior dog. And she loves treats — although you must not give her too many because she will eat all of them! Roxi is remarkably adaptable and has settled into her foster home really well. She is bigger than her foster siblings but she gets along great with everyone and doesn’t take advantage of her size. She lived with a cat for some years in her first home.  She ignored the cat and the cat ignored her. She is house trained. One of her foster parents works from home so Roxi goes outside every few hours. We would like this to continue for Roxi for optimal kidney health. She will snooze on the sofa next to her people during TV time but she needs help getting up and down. She sleeps quietly through the night in her little bed, but she is also an accomplished bed sleeper with her people. Roxi loves walking on her leash and being outside when the temperature is moderate.  She would love a fenced yard where she can explore but this is not required as long as she can go outside on her leash. She is calm and quiet when meeting new dogs and people outside.   The ideal home for Roxi is one where one or both parents are retired or work from home. Due to her small size and age, Roxi needs an adult-only home.  A multiple dog household would be fine, but Roxi really needs to be someone’s special baby (she seems to like women and men equally).  If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Roxi, please complete an application and tell us more about yourself.   August 19, 2026, 11:30 am

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Poppie is an adorable 7-8yo, 16.8-lb. possible chihuahua/pug mix. Her curly-Q pigtail is the cutest thing. She came to LR obese, weighing 21lbs. so she has made great progress with her weight loss. She has been slowly losing weight with controlled food, short walks and lots of yard time where she loves soaking up the sun and chasing lizards. She is a Georgia gal whose owner passed away and left nowhere for her to go. She is currently living with 5 other dogs from small to medium size, as well as a senior cat. She is cat friendly 90% of the time, but she does sometimes bark at the cat, so it may be best if the home is cat free. Poppie loves pets and belly rubs; her chosen place to sleep at night is beside her person on the human bed, sometimes under the covers. She likes to chew on stuffies, but they aren’t allowed because she pulls the stuffing out which she could swallow, and she has no interest in chew bones. Poppie is house trained as long as she is taken out on a regular schedule. She doesn’t give cues when she needs to go out, so it's up to you to take her out every few hours, but sleeps through the night without needing to go. Sometimes she burrows under a cover, thinking she is all hidden yet her booty is exposed lol. Poppie loves meal time, and treats get her attention right away - but due to her full figure, she is fed low-calorie veggies like raw or cooked zucchini or cauliflower, and cooked broccoli, which she loves. She does well riding in the car. She is friendly with everyone at the vet, until a needle comes out, but who can blame her for that. Poppie does great in any crowded setting, she doesn't bark at other people or dogs, and is super friendly to everyone who greets her. Poppie had dental disease when she came into rescue, and 7 teeth were extracted during her dental surgery last month. During a walk, her foster mom noticed a “hitch” in her step, so an appointment was made with our rehab vet where it was determined that Poppie has a luxating patella on her left hind leg, a grade 2 out of 4, which is a milder grade. This condition is when the kneecap pops out of its normal groove, causing a “skipping” gait. This does not cause her any pain. Her rehab vet has her on a home exercise routine 4-5 days per week to strengthen the ligaments surrounding the knee; her forever person will need to continue these easy 10-minute exercises to prevent the luxation from worsening. Poppie looks forward to her exercises because they involve treats. Poppie walks well on leash and loves going on walks. She is non-reactive to other dogs and people. Her foster mom takes a stroller along and she walks a little and rides a little, and repeats this during the walk. She also enjoys short walks early morning or evening. She is on a daily supplement to support her joints, but no other meds are needed. Besides the knee “hitch” she is a healthy girl with no heart or lung issues. She can jump up on the couch by herself, and goes up and down doggy stairs to get on the taller bed.  Poppie has a funny personality, she can be talkative - when she wants you to pet her, or when she wants to go to sleep and wants you to stop petting her. This adds to her charm. Sometimes when you stop petting her she will touch your hand with her paw for more pets. And who can resist that?  We are requiring a fenced yard for her to chase lizards and bask in the sun. Whoever adopts Poppie will get the best girl with a wonderful personality. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect forever home for Poppie, complete an app and tell us more about you. August 19, 2026, 11:30 am
