Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Liora!  Liora is a sweet and playful 4-year-old Chihuahua mix looking for her forever home. While we’re not quite sure what else she may be mixed with, one thing is certain — she’s full of personality and charm! Liora weighs a little over 20 pounds, making her a great medium-size companion. She enjoys being active, walks nicely on a leash, and is crate trained, which makes her an easy addition to a loving home. Liora has a fun, playful side and would love an adopter who enjoys spending time with her, whether that’s going for walks or just hanging out together. Liora came to Pet Rescue By Judy through no fault of her own after her owner could no longer care for her. She has not yet been around children, other dogs, or cats, so at this time we’re unsure how she will do with them. As we get to know Liora better, we’ll be sure to update her page with any new information.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 4, 2026, 1:03 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Shye & Girly  Sweet, Playful Yorkshire Terrier Mixes Looking for Their Forever Homes  Shye and her mom, Girly, are two adorable Yorkshire Terrier mixes who are ready to start their next chapter with loving families of their own.  Girly is the mom and is approximately 4 years old. She is a sweet, friendly girl who enjoys spending time with people and soaking up affection. Shye is her daughter and is also a Yorkshire Terrier mix. From what their previous owner shared, Shye’s dad may have been a Chihuahua, giving her an extra dose of charm.  These two girls were surrendered to Pet Rescue By Judy when their owner could no longer care for them. They are not bonded, so they may be adopted separately, but if someone were able to open their heart and home to both, that would be wonderful.  Shye and Girly are both potty trained and do well with other dogs, cats, and children. They are playful, happy companions who enjoy going for walks and do pretty well on a leash. Whether it’s playtime or cuddle time, these girls are always ready to be part of the fun.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 29, 2026, 5:13 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Joey   Joey is a sweet Chihuahua mix—definitely larger than your typical Chihuahua. He came to Pet Rescue By Judy after being lovingly surrendered when his owner could no longer care for him due to health reasons. 1.21.26 Foster update:   Joey is coming out of his shell and has what we call happy feet!   He gets so excited when it is meal time or time to go outside.     He does need to be in his crate if he cannot be supervised as he thinks nothing of lifting his leg inside.    When he is outside he does know to do his business whether he is on leash or loose in the fenced yard.   His favorite thing to do outside is SNIFF.    We can't help but wonder if there is some hound in him because he wants to sniff everything.    He seems to have some type of allergy as he has clear discharge at times but we have been giving him allergy pills and that has helped greatly.     He does like to chew on nylabones and his crate is still his very favorite place. Joey’s past has shaped him into a slightly shy and cautious boy. He was used to having just one person and spent a lot of time crated because of his owner’s limitations. Becuse of this, he is not housetrained nor is he accustomed to going outside for potty, walks, or playtime...something his fosters are working on. Having other dogs in his foster home is helping Joey to model after:) At 18 lbs, he is awkward to hold, so would not consider him a lap dog...but he loves to be near his people.  The good news is that Joey does very well in a crate and finds comfort there. Even more heart-melting is how much he wants to be part of whatever is going on around him—he watches with interest and clearly wants connection, even if he’s not quite sure how to ask for it yet. Joey wants to be loved and, with a little patience and understanding, he will blossom into a devoted companion. He would do best in a calm, quiet home with no/older respectful children who can give him the space and reassurance he needs to build confidence and come out of his shell. Having another dog in the home to buddy with and model after would be ideal. New owners should be prepared for continued potty reinforcement, walking on leash, and outside playtime. Owner(s) who are home most of the day and who are steady on their feet (as he can be underfoot wanting to stay near you) is best for this sweet boy.       Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 22, 2026, 10:23 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Aries   Aries is a 7-year-old Chihuahua mix (possibly with Miniature Pinscher) with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s had a lot of change in his life — his original owner passed away, he stayed briefly with a neighbor, and then moved into foster care — so he’s looking for a stable, understanding, patient home where he can finally settle in for good. Aries is a sweet, loyal little guy who loves cuddling, belly rubs, and squeaky toys (he proudly considers himself the “king of toys”). He’s very food-motivated, a smart little guy who listens well, and knows several commands including sit, shake, other paw, spin, lay down, and tippy toes. He enjoys quiet walks. He is overwhelmed by loud parks at this time. He is excellent about pottying outside and gets straight to business. He likes his independence and prefers to do things by himself so having to get picked up to be put in and out of the car takes someone who will take their time for trust to develop and not rush him, but once in the car, he settles in nicely. Aries is respectful with cats and enjoys watching them play. He doesn’t bother them or their food while they’re eating, though he should be supervised if they walk away from leftover meals.  Aries does NOT feel safe in crates and does best with free access to a secure home. He went to foster care from the rescue for this very reason as he injured himself getting out of a crate. He is not destructive of any house hold items. He enjoys having multiple cozy spots around the house to relax.  He has shown some possessive behavior of women when sleeping in bed so for that reason may do best having his own sleeping space at night. He does fine cuddling on the couch.  Aries prefers slow introductions to new people and is not comfortable with excessive handling, talking, or eye contact from strangers unless treats are involved.  Prior experience with Chihuahuas or similar breeds is encouraged(or willingness to learn). With patience, willingness to move at his pace, structure, and love, Aries will be a deeply loyal companion who just wants to feel safe and chosen. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 3, 2026, 10:13 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Shadow is a 1yo, approx. 7lb. male chihuahua mix who was abandoned by his owner. Even so, he loves being with his person. He takes a bit to warm up to new people, but once he does he loves affection and belly rubs, and loves to give kisses. He is mostly house trained and is learning that the leash means go potty. He is crate trained, walks well on a leash (may pull a bit at first) and rides well in a car. He does have a lot of energy so he needs someone who is active with him and has a fenced yard for him to run and play in. Shadow previously lived with a large dog, and also does well with small dogs and cats. He can be growly at first when meeting new people, has some separation anxiety and can be vocal when left alone. Loud noises scare him. Shadow loves small toys, especially rope toys. But keep your shoes up or he will think they are there for him. We are preferring an adult-only home for him, but if the home has kids they should be older and respectful. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Shadow, please complete an app and tell us more about you. January 30, 2026, 9:20 pm
