Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Rocket is one of the happiest little chihuahuas you will ever meet. This cute 4-year-old little guy came to Lil Rascals weighing only 4 lbs., but he has now doubled his weight to more than 8 lbs. and gained tons of confidence. Rocket is super smart, and just the most cuddliest boy ever. He loves to snuggle up against you, nuzzling into your neck. He currently lives with several other fur siblings - dogs and a cat - and does great with all of them. He prefers to hang out with his fur friends and follows them during back yard explorations. But sometimes he hangs out with one of his foster sisters, who we think has a little bit of a crush on him. Rocket is house trained, and he quietly stands by the back door to indicate when he needs to go out. He has adjusted to wearing a harness, and is still a little leery of walking on a leash, but with practice he should do well. Rocket came to our rescue with limited vision, so he had a visit with our eye specialist and it was determined that he has Progressive Retinal Atrophy, in which the retina slowly deteriorates and he eventually becomes blind. His retina is much thinner than it should be and the blood vessels are tiny. This is a hereditary condition, but is not painful. Despite his condition, he is just the happiest little boy. He is extremely smart; he “sees” with his ears and nose, and quickly maps out his domain after which he has no issues navigating. He follows his fur siblings outside and he is comfortable running outside during daytime when the bright light allows him to see shadows better - just take a look at his video. He should be fed separately to keep others from eating his food. Rocket will do best an uncluttered environment, with a laid-back companion dog that will help him build his self-confidence in his new surroundings. He will come with his favorite bed and blanket.  We are requiring an adult-only home for him and a fenced yard where he can walk around freely. This sweetheart of a dog has so much love to give. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Rocket, please complete an app and tell us more about your family.   October 24, 2025, 11:50 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Hey ladies, are you in the market for a new best gal pal?? Look no further than Miss Pearl! Pearl is approximately 2 years old, weighs 15 lbs. and we believe she is a chihuahua mix. Pearl was thankfully saved when a couple found her running stray along a busy highway in GA. She was so scared and timid upon arrival, but her personality has already started to blossom after just a few weeks! Pearl has so much love to give. Her perfect day would be snuggling on the couch with you alllll day, watching movies or bingeing your favorite shows and napping. She loves belly rubs, giving kisses, and being pet. She mostly keeps to herself around the other dogs and kitty in her foster home, but doesn’t mind their presence. Sadly, Pearl is still very timid around men, so needs a woman as her main caretaker. Right off the bat, she loved her foster mom and any new women that she has met, and she has made huge strides with her foster dad, but is still skiddish. She is never reactive, only very scared. Loud noises and chaos also scare her, so we think she would be happiest and most comfortable in an adult-only, calmer home. Pearl is house trained and can easily be crated, although she doesn’t need to be. She currently does her business in her foster's fenced yard. She doesn't really need the crate, and would be totally fine just napping on the couch or in a dog bed when you aren't home. She recently got the special treat of sleeping in the big human bed, and she absolutely loved it— she crawled right under the covers to snuggle all night! She doesn't seem to know what toys are, and does well riding in a car with maybe a bit of nervousness. We are requiring a fenced yard for her because she is terrified of walking on a leash. She needs someone who can slowly get her used to being comfortable on a leash. If you can give her just a little time and patience to trust you, Pearl will give you back 10x the love she receives.  If you believe you have the perfect home for Pearl, and you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area, complete and app and tell us more about you.
