NAME: Wolfie BREED: Chihuahua BIRTHDAY: 2012 WEIGHT: 8lbs ADOPTION FEE: $250 &#226&#128&#139 Wolfie came to us from a crowded PA shelter. You may think that a cute little guy like him would get adopted quickly, but the shelter environment is not a good one for a nervous nellie like Wolfie. He was extremely fearful and got himself labeled "rescue only" as a result. Again, it seems like he would be a good candidate to be pulled by rescues, but since everyone is full poor Wolfie sat and waited. We were asked to take two other dogs with medical needs, asked about any other small seniors who might be available, took one look at those little snaggle teeth and said YES to Wolfie too! &#226&#128&#139 In foster care, Wolfie keeps to himself. He hides when new people come and does not like the commotion of the pack. However, when his foster mom gets him one-on-one, it is obvious that this little guy just needs a change of scenery to really blossom. He loves attention and affection and is sweet and goofy and a lot of fun. Although he does well with and is safe around cats and dogs (the exception being a beagle who came to us intact, who Wolfie absolutely hated), Wolfie would be fine as an only dog and would certainly prefer a calmer environment. He has done very well with house training and is a relatively quiet guy. Wolfie will have a dental on July 31st and will be ready to go to his forever home after that!September 23, 2023, 6:59 pm

Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. He and many other dogs were living with an elderly couple with dementia. Things were out of control. A kind man went in to help the dogs and brought them to Rescue. He's looking for a fresh start on life. Denver is shy yet, trying to adjust and will need an experienced home. Small children are an unknown. He weighs 13#. Denver has been dog tested and did great. His adoption fee is $350 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. Peanut is the only boy in a litter of four Chihuahua puppies. His sisters take after their mom and are much smaller with black/tan fur. Peanut is the most outstanding companion a person could want. He showers you with love and attention. He is your TV buddy, snoozing by your side and he loves to sleep by you all cuddled up in a ball. Peanut is so special and has an excellent disposition. He is currently 6 months old and approximately 11 lbs. He will be medium size when full grown. Peanut is the perfect little dog for anyone except for people who are gone a lot. He is used to lots of love and affection and being with people! So please don't apply if you are gone a lot. He is ready for adoption and can be in your arms NOW!!! At wags to riches, we pride ourselves on having the lowest prices of any rescue while doing the most for our dogs. Being a very small organization, we are a 2-woman show, have no overhead, and work hard to give our dogs the most loving home possible. Because we are so small with limited volunteers, we have to use an external transport company (if you don't want to drive to Alabama to get your dog( to transport the dog to Maryland/PA/VA area. He charges $150 per dog. This cost would be in addition to the adoption fee.
