Story
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email the adoption counselor:  lisastern.tr@gmail.com  and request an adoption application.  Dog's Name:  Bart Estimated Breed :  Chihuahua Mix Approximate Age:  2 yrs Approximate Weight:  25 lbs Currently Living at:  Hatton Ranch Adoption Fee:  $400   DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Looking for a furry companion who will bring joy, loyalty, and endless love into your home? Bart is the one for you! This sweet and deserving gentleman had a rough start in life and has been waiting in the wings for awhile for his forever home. He is ready to find his forever family. Here’s a little about him:  Personality: Bart is a very energetic young man who loves to run and play, but at the end of the day, he's all about cuddling up with you on the couch to watch TV or just chill out. Bart likes the company of people as well as other dogs and cats, so if you have a full house, Bart is happy to share his love with everyone! Bart loves toys and has not met a chew toy that he has not been able to destroy - he challenges you to find one that will survive his playtime!  Training & Behavior: Bart is crate trained and housebroken, as long as he goes outside on a regular basis.  Health & Wellness: Bart came to us from a shelter in Texas with a broken left pelvis and 3 breaks in his right rear leg. We believe poor Bart was hit by a car which caused his injuries. Bart underwent surgery and has made a full recovery. His past injuries have not slowed him down, or curbed his great enthusiasm for love and life!  Perfect Home: Bart is an all around sweet guy who would work well most home environments. He is outgoing, playful, and sweet. Bart is energetic, so be prepared to give him exercise! Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, Hatton Animal Rescue spends significantly more on each dog than the adoption fee. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email the adoption counselor: lisastern.tr@gmail.com    and request an adoption application.  Dog's Name:  John (JOH0125BARMN) Estimated Breed :  Chihuahua Mix Approximate Age:  7 years Approximate Weight:  12 pounds Currently Living at:  Foster Adoption Fee:  $400   DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Hi. I’m John.  —the legend, the myth, the 12-pound marvel. Yes, THE John. No, not your ex. I’m the adorable one with a body like a tiny, furry Arnold Schwarzenegger. Classic V-shape. Built like a brick doghouse. You’re welcome. Let’s get a few things out of the way:  I’m a Chihuahua, but NOT one of those “death from the ankles down” types. I’m not here to bite your guests or wage war on your vacuum.  I’m 7 years old, which means I’ve outgrown the nonsense but still got that zest for life. Think: wise grandpa energy with occasional zoomies.  I weigh a solid 12 pounds of love, snuggles, and confidence. You may say “chonky,” I say “compact power unit.” Here’s the deal—I love literally everyone.  Kids? Adore them.  Other dogs? Love ‘em.  Cats? Probably fine—I don’t have beef with felines.  People in general? Obsessed. If you’ve got hands, I’m tryin’ to be in ‘em.  I sleep in the big bed (duh).  I’m probably housetrained. Let’s not make it weird—just show me the spot, and I’ll handle my business.  I walk like a champ on a leash, strutting my beefy bod like I’m in a doggy fitness ad.  I’m the perfect mix of couch potato + spice. I’ll Netflix and chill hard, but I also have enough spunk to make sure you know I’m alive and thriving. Bottom line: I’m sweet. I’m polite. I’m friendly. I’m handsome. I’m John, and I’m here to make your life 600% better with just one tail wag. Slide into my DMs (or, you know, contact the rescue) and let’s make this a forever thing. I’ll bring the charm. You bring snacks.  Perfect Home: Would do well in any home who will give him exercise and commit to helping him lose weight. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email the adoption counselor: lisastern.tr@gmail.com    and request an adoption application.  Dog's Name:  Beth (BET0125BARFS) Estimated Breed :  Chihuahua Mix Approximate Age: 7 years  Approximate Weight:  9 pounds Currently Living at:  Foster Adoption Fee:  $400   DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Meet Beth: Your Fun-Sized, Love-Loaded Couch Companion  Looking for a dog who’s got just enough sass to keep life interesting, but won’t eat your shoes or your soul? Meet Beth—9 lbs of fluffy, slightly chunky unconditional love.  Breed: Chihuahua (deluxe edition)  Age: 7 years young (aka: old enough to know better, young enough to do it anyway)  Weight: 9 lbs. She calls it “curves.” We agree.  Leash Walking: Like a dream  Housetrained?: Most likely! (We’ll call it a “high-probability potty pro”)  Sleeping Arrangements: Yes, she sleeps in the big bed. And yes, she will judge you if you snore. Beth is a pro at snuggling, expert at making you feel loved, and may or may not be your grandma reincarnated. She gets along with dogs, probably likes cats (she’s too chill to care), and is cool with humans of all sizes—even the sticky, noisy kind (kids!). She’s equal parts couch potato and pep-in-her-step—think: Netflix binge partner who’ll still get excited for a walk and a sniff safari. If your home is missing:  A warm body on the couch  A dog who thinks you are the best part of every day  A personal space invader with excellent cuddling form …then Beth is your girl. Come meet Beth. She’s not just a dog—she’s a lifestyle choice. A very good one.   Perfect Home: Beth would do well in any home that is willing to give her time to settle in. Once she trusts you, she is loyal and a happy little gal!
