Rick may be small in size, but his heart is huge—and he’s ready to give it to a family who will love him forever.
This darling Chihuahua-Terrier mix was found abandoned in rural Alabama alongside his loyal companion Georgia (who’s also available for adoption!). A kind-hearted local had been feeding them for several weeks, and when Georgia gave birth to puppies, we were called in to help. Rick was right there by her side, sticking close and looking out for his friend—so of course, we scooped him up too.
Now safe and sound in a foster home with children, dogs, and cats, Rick is blossoming. He’s a little shy when meeting new people, but it only takes a couple of hours before his tail starts wagging and he warms up with joy. He absolutely loves being indoors, cozying up to his foster family, and just being part of a home again.
Rick is sweet, gentle, and will make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal little buddy. If you have room in your heart (and on your couch), Rick just might be the perfect pup for you.

Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue adopts in the New England area. Our adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, up to date shots, Microchip, Alabama Health Certificate, and the transport service to get the new family pet to you.
The pets are delivered by a licensed transporter.

Please be advised that our volunteers are busy rescuing, transporting, and caring for our animals. We will respond to your application as soon as possible. Upon review of your application, the rescue in AL will contact you, so you can ask any specific questions that you may have.
NOTE: All Paws of Dixie animals are located in AL foster homes. They will be transported north after adoption.
If there is more than one decision maker in the home, all of them should be in agreement.
