Story
Meet Fortune Cookie! Fortune Cookie is ready to tell your future, and it just might include her by your side. Though she is very sweet and gentle, she is rather shy with new people. The good news is that there’s an easy way to break down Cookie’s walls and earn her trust - treats, and lots of them. Give her a little time and a tasty snack and she’ll be your little shadow and best friend. Since she did come from a home with limited exposure to the outside world, Fortune Cookie is not house trained and has no experience being on leash. She would do best in a home that either has a secure yard or is comfortable using pee pads until a time where she is comfortable going for walks. Cookie is in our special adoption program, if you are interested in her please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and email cshamgochian@parl.org to set up a meet and greet

Story
Meet Honeycomb and Bingo! These two pups came in with a number of their friends and littermates, but they seem to share a very special bond with each other. Honeycomb is still just a puppy at only three months while Bingo is estimated to be a year old. They match each other's energy and love to play silly games and rough house together. Since they haven't experienced any of the world before coming to us, they are very fearful and timid around new people and situations. Luckily, these two are absolutely obsessed with food and are ready to bond with you over a tasty snack and a shared meal. They are looking for adopters who are ready to go slow, take things at their pace, and know that it will be weeks or months before they fully love and trust their new families. They have no experience walking on leash and need training to get them comfortable and used to the sensation without panicking. Neither Honeycomb or Bingo are house trained, so they would do best in a home with either a secure yard or where they can use pee pads in the house while they get used to walking on leash. Honeycomb and Bingo are in our special adoption program which sets adopters up for success with pre and post adoption counseling. If you are interested in them, please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and email cshamgochian@parl.org with any questions and to set up a meet and greet.

HEATHER 🦊❤️Looking for a fun, smart, and active sidekick? Meet Heather — a beautiful Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her energy!Heather is an athletic, intelligent young pup who’s as playful as she is striking. She’ll have your neighbors wondering if you brought home a little fox — but don’t be fooled by her looks, she’s all dog and all personality.Heather absolutely loves to play fetch, go for walks, and ride in the car to watch the world go by. Once she trusts you, she’s affectionate and loyal — always happy to soak up attention from her favorite people. She can be wary of strangers and needs time to warm up, especially with new people or dogs. With patience and structure, she quickly forms strong bonds. Heather’s a smart cookie who thrives with consistent training and clear boundaries. She already knows basic cues like “sit,” “paw,” and even goes potty on command! She’s currently working on leash manners and can be reactive when she sees dogs or people up close, so a confident, experienced adopter committed to continued training will help her succeed.Heather would do best in an adult home or one with kids 12+ and no cats. A fenced yard and plenty of playtime would be a big bonus for this energetic girl. She’s not a fit for a first-time dog owner, but for someone experienced and active, she’ll be an incredible companion — full of love, fun, and adventure. She needs a home with another dog with her energy level, she loves to play and she longs for companionship. If you live in an apartment setting or in a busy area she is not the right fit, she will bark at noises or things she see's going by a window. This is not a negative about her its just who she is and the barking does stop with correction. If you’re ready to invest time, patience, and training into a sweet, smart, and spirited pup, Heather will reward you with loyalty, laughter, and a lifetime of love! Story
Meet Besos. He is a 2 year old, male, Chihuahua mix. Straight from the sunny shores of Puerto Rico, this happy guy is very ready for his forever home. Besos is a little dude with big opinions - especially about leashes (aka his favorite tug toy) and who gets to be in his inner circle. He tried a home with kids but he’s made it very clear: he’s an adult only kind of guy. He’s looking for a patient, dog-savvy home where he can polish up his manners and shine as the silly, loving companion he’s meant to be. If you love training challenges, leash games, and forming deep bonds with quirky little dogs, Besos is your guy. We promise he will be worth it!
