Story
Ladies, here is the man for you... he prefers women over the male species and is a typical chihuahua who is loyal to his person. He is good with dogs his size. He is around 10 years old and needs a loving home for his senior years. If you understand those sweet chi personalities and think Bo might be your man, please read on. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
Ike is a 1-year-old Chihuahua mix pup who has been at our rescue for quite some time, simply due to the fact that he is very nervous when meeting new people! He is absolutely adorable with his long legs and pointy ears, that are all the better to hear you, my dear! We have been spending a lot of extra TLC and going on extra walks and spending as much time getting used to being around people and now, he has turned into a little cuddle bug! He just needed a little extra patience and a lot more love to understand that humans were not all bad and just wanted to snuggle him. If you are interested in our sweet Ikey, please visit Richardsonrescue.org and fill out our adoption application and bring this silly guy into your home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 17, 2026, 9:21 am

Story
Meet Ruby! Ruby is an around 4-year Chihuahua/Dachshund mix who is just an absolute love bug! She was surrendered to our rescue after being found in the middle of an intersection, where she had obviously been dumped out like trash! She is very affectionate and since being with us has shown no aggression of any kind and simply just wants to be loved on and show you as much love as she can! She is spayed and currently up to date on all vetting! She is house trained and walks like a pro on a leash! Ruby loves to snuggle up on a bed with a blanket and a small stuffy toy, so if you are looking for a sweet girl to be a couch potato and lap pet with you, please visit Richardsonrescue.org to fill out our adoption application to give this darling girl the loving home she deserves!    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 3, 2026, 1:47 pm
