Story
Ladies, here is the man for you... he prefers women over the male species and is a typical chihuahua who is loyal to his person. He is good with dogs his size. He is around 7 years old and needs a loving home as he approaches his senior years. If you understand those sweet chi personalities and think Bo might be your man, please read on. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
Our sweet boy Barney came from a very bad hoarding situation and was understandably a bit shook up at first. He has since started to warm up to his foster mom and is doing better each day. Timid at first, but if you give him a little time, he is your best buddy. If Barney looks like your boy, please read our adoption procedures and fill out our on line application Listed below is our adoption procedures for Clifford’s Army Rescue. Story
Meet Zoey! This little Chihuahua girl is almost 3 years old ( DOB 7/30/2021). Zoey weighs in at a little under 10 lbs. She is the best, and sweetest little chihuahua we have ever seen. She is a sweet heart that is very treat motivated. She is a lap baby for sure. She loves attention and would do great with any family. Older kids are always a great idea when it comes to smaller pups. She is house trained, crate trained and leash trained. She has been spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed and ready to find her forever home. Please fill out an adoption application at Richardsonrescue.org and take this sweet baby home with you.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 15, 2024, 12:18 pm

Story
Lilo is a 6 year old chihuahua mix, I got her a couple years back in 2020, her previous owner had to move away, I’m a college student who currently has 2 jobs and does school full time, Lilo is an exceptional dog she’s usually alone since I’m always out working but she’ll wait for me when I get home to do her necessities, she’s a trained dog, I only see her morning and nights and when I commute home to school or work , but she needs someone with more time She does has a skin condition she has allergies to grass or anything outside related so keep that in mind, she sheds a lot and I’ve always dealt with asthma as a younger kid but since having her my asthma attacks / issues have increased so do to that I’m also rehoming her , I do bath her occasionally 2 or 3 times a month and it helps out a lot but with my schedule it’s hard to keep up Please consider Lilo in welcoming her into your household ❤️
